It really hurts me to give this rating because this is quite possibly the greatest media I have

consumed, but the ending was honestly pretty bad. The show and manga were so extremely good

until the ending, with amazing characters, psychology, and overall story but the ending dropped the

ball. It felt really rushed and left way to much unexplained, hopefully with the last couple

unreleased chapter it will shed some light on these things but as of now the ending was bad, bad
...
enough for me to drop the entire manga from a 10 to an 8. With only one chapter left I honestly fear

what's to come, I doubt one chapter can completely clear the ending up with how rushed it felt. The

last 3 or 4 chapter could easily be split into 10 or more.

I am a person that values relatability and enjoyment as the most important things in a show. The way this show portrays the more realistic side of revenge and the frustration of not being able to satisfy that vengeance is masterful. On a psychological level the main character was very well written and at least a small amount relatable for most people, understanding the frustration of putting your soul into something and not being able to succeed in it. The antagonist also had great psychology, being born into slavery and seeing mostly the negative sides of an entire peoples led him to become murderous and ... not care for most other people. This, in-turn, forced him into becoming one of these people that he hated the most, he realized this and accepted it, becoming a bad person and knowing that he was a bad person. Overall I loved this anime for the main character and psychology behind most of the characters, which is something I feel like a lot of the lower reviews are not taking into account.
