This is actually the true continuation of the first season as the timeline take place right after Episode 13 with the new character blend in as well.

This new episode is centered around Noel and Carol, a contrast to the parent story as it mostly focused on the friendship development. So, if you liked to see more of Noel, this is the right episode as she probably gets more screen time here.

STORY
The flow of the story is the same as the parent series but the pacing might be a bit too fast due to time restraint as it felt like the entire 5 episode are crammed ... into 30min but nonetheless, it does not ruin the overall pacing of the story as this is something already happening in the last 3 episode of the season one.

CHARACTER
The new character is like the carbon copy of three different character (Noel, Yuzuki and Shione) of before Episode 12 from season one.

#This review is solely based on this anime alone and are not in any way about the mahwa hence this is a perspective of just anime side alone (but I already read this so this review is not completely unbiased).

TL;DR - This anime is a new experience if you excused the art style, it is a hidden gem among the hidden gem. You will now experience the greatest height korean manga can reach out of those weird and trashy one. Among anime, this anime is very different and will brought forth a new Era of Webtoon and release you from the chain of ... generic trash. In short, it's worth your time.

Story - 9
The story is virtually the first, although the concept of climbing forward to reach your goal is nothing new, the lore and the way the Tower works is on a completely different level. It is nothing like in any anime you had watched before nor you could find anything similar to this (so far this is based off mahwa). As far as the early episodes goes, this anime will seem like nothing new and looks boring with a little mysterious vibe but for now, just trust me and kept watching or read the mahwa.

Art - 8
Art is refreshing to me, although it is not ufotable art style or yuta nakamura sort of animation, it still looked good and you will get used to it in no time. Your head are deep in sand to even criticize the art style and animation when it is still 2D and doesn't look as horrible as "Nobleesse" or "Evil or Live" (plus many would argue that the art is true to the first vol of the mahwa). The animation will definitely will get better like mob psycho or one punch man fight scene quality when ranker started to fight.

Sound - 9
For VA, they are not bad and good enough. Their voice don't match at all in the Japanese dub but the Korean one matched it perfectly. Sound effect is great, it is original with their vibration and do matched the scene and them very well. Soundtrack in this anime is epic and badass, it sounds like I'm watching Made in Abyss and gave this anime the same vibe but faint to it too so kudos to the one who made them (I believe it was Kevin Penkin). Seriously, the soundtrack really suit this anime theme and is on par with Sawano Hiroyuki works. The OP (Top) and ED (Slump) are the best, it suited them well and I especially love the OP music with those credit black screen, it really add the atmosphere of being a mysterious existence and suspenseful vibe to it. I always skip OPs and very rarely do watch anime OP much less for every episode but this TOG OP is so good I can't skip them. The ED is good, the music suit them because it adds to the "goodbye" and "rest well" of the ending journey. It's honestly great. I love them.

Character - 10
They are unique, new, refreshing and well written. The character themselves and their relationship is something new, it is familiar yet so distant. They all have their own personality and even the background character a
along with the 'villain' have their own story to tell. In the mahwa, characters alone and the 'villain' can each have their own mahwa or anime. This is how good the character is and they may seem bland and generic at a glance but beneath that surface lies a dragon.

Enjoyment - 9
For me, I usually consume good anime like a marathon but this anime is too good for that. Like your favorite food in the dish, you will save the best in the last. I will take my time to enjoy every bit of this anime.

Do you like Nichijou? If so then this is the anime for you!

This anime is kinda similar to Nichijou but it is more humorous (for me) and I actually laughed for the most time unlike Nichijou, the joke only make me giggle but this one actually got me laughing out loud that my mom (I'm still in high school) came in to my room.

To summarize this, if you don't care about story and you want funny comedy high school slice of life then this is anime for you. Ignore the critism and the lack of popularity, what's important is the content and the character is ... full of personality too despite of the short episode.

Another thing to note is that the last episode contain mild NSFW scene so if you don't want to see them part then skip the part where they all start to dance at the end of the episode.

I rate this anime 7/10 because the character lack depth and the overwhelming unnecessary fan service

Story - 7
There isn't much depth or any notable point for me to talk about the story, it is just your simple and generic plot..

Art - 8
I particularly like this art style much better than most other A-1 Pictures work because it was vibrant and colorful much like this anime should had been. The art style was nice, it represent the teenage romantic theme pretty nicely and the way this was animated and drawn were good enough so you won't even notice any stuttering or any lag unless ... you are really paying attention to the animation and art.

Sound - 7
Pretty average (not in a bad way), there isn't anything crazy about the sound or any super emotional soundtrack but it does include some great one. Good thing the soundtrack weren't recycled to death like most anime would.

Character - 6
Lack depth in personality and emotion, it feels like they are trying to make you love (not the same as rooting aka shipping) the character and without making it appealing to the public first. The character are just straight up come out of nowhere with such convenience but that is to be expected from 12 episodes anime. Romance anime should have 24 episode or more than 20 to create good character development or cleverly develop their character throughout each episode unlike Eromanga-sensei whereas it just 'suddenly' make the character fall in love with each other and just told us the backstory without developing it. That aside, their character design is pretty good.

Enjoyment - 7
It is safe to say that this anime only deserve 7 rating and that wasn't so bad at all considering the amount of rush work in this anime and being too pushy with their audience.
