This manga was really enjoyable to read up until that ending. I was looking for transgender related manga, or at least manga that deals with gender identity, but I came across this manga that deals with a gay high schooler trying to hide (and philosophize) his sexuality and how society would perecive him if he were to come out.
As a transgender woman this story still hits close to him which is why I'm so depressed now after having read it and feel compelled to write a review for once.
The story exaggerates how society would react to being gay, and they have smartphones in the story ... so I'm guessing this manga is based well past the 2010s. If you live in a Westernized country being gay is viewed more favorable now, although it doesn't mean discrimination doesn't still happen from families and peers of course. Common themes in this manga include what it means to be gay, what's truly "normal", bullying and skewed views on gay people from heteronormative society, and a lot more.
The art was normal.
The main character was likeable, but a lot of the side characters were stereotyping gay people non-stop. I guess that makes sense since it's Japan though, since they're still rather conservative even in 2021.
Overall I enjoyed this manga despite the ending.

If you're an LGBT+ person don't think you're alone in this world and that no one understands you. There are tons of people just like you who will welcome you with open arms as well as support/meet-up groups to help you, so don't go thinking ending your life is the only route available to you. So much happiness can be yours when you overcome the stigma/stereotyping we face daily. Everyday support of us increases, so don't lose hope. Fight for your rights.

I'm going to start off by saying that the publisher of Id went bankrupt. That means that Id was cancelled over 4 years ago and will most likely never continue. It's safe to say that Id "ends" at chapter 178 which feels sort of disappointing because we're left in the middle of an ongoing conflict where the main antagonists or "masterminds" aren't even confronted yet.
Ignoring the manhwa's cancellation, the story was really nice for me up till the "end." It had an overpowered main character who could still realize he needed to learn a thing or two, people who were constantly dumbfounded by his power, ... and a lot of fighting.
The problem with the fighting part is it was so badly drawn. You could hardly tell what's going on because the artist doesn't know how to depict fighting in a still frame. Imagine being in a dark room when it's daylight outside, trying to read a book using tiny slits of light that are barely making its way through a thick curtain WHILE you're on the other side of the room. It gets better, but barely.
There were a few characters I liked and a lot that I questioned why they were even being introduced since more than two-thirds of the people Id befriends end up being sidelined or used as a backdrop.
Still, I enjoyed this manhwa even with it being axed.

The story's about Mr. Kwon. He goes to the country to be a teacher just for the heck of it. Because it's the country, the class is real small. The MAL plot says they're unique but honestly the kids are pretty cliche. The whole sad background sob fest, you get it all boiii! But don't get me wrong, their stories are pretty nice, nice in a sad way. And the way Mr. Kwon handles them would make you want to be a teacher too if it was as easy as this manhwa guy depicted. Still ... though, you'd think that someone hiring a dude would look more into his background if he was going to be teaching children, you know? Mr. Kwon is a gangster but they still hired him even though he was suspicious as hell. Anyway, the story was nice and sweet up until the end. You get presented with a conclusion that's acceptable but then the author for some reason drew more panels that are basically: "It's just a prank, bro!" I'd just ignore that to be honest. He was just messing around probably, his own way of saying goodbye. Like gag credits. You'll know.
The art was pretty bad, not going to lie. You could definitely see the manhwa author getting better though. It's not bad like ONE's old skills (One Punch Man manga artist), but it's still pretty bad. You could still tell what everything was though. Doesn't mess up the story telling.
Characters go through a tiny bit of change and you can feel it's sincere in a way. Not like it was rushed or anything. Sure it's not complex but it's done alright for a short 83 chapter manhwa.
Overall I enjoyed this. Made me feel the feely feels a few times. Great Teacher Onizuka will still be my number 1 favorite teacher comic though, comedy and drama wise.

I've been putting this anime off for literally 4 years because all the rumors on the internet saying SAO2 was horrible. I've seen so many anime that I've run out of popular ones to watch, so I finally decided to check this off my list and write a short review.
I'll start off with saying that if you didn't like the first season and don't like the MMORPG scene then Sword Art Online 2 probably isn't for you, and the same can be said for this short review since I'll be writing on the assumption you've seen and liked the first season and also like MMORPGs.

The plot summary on MAL to SAO2 really only applies till the end of episode 14. After that it's pretty much just a wrap up for the series in ALfheim Online (ALO), the fairy virtual reality world. Episodes 1-14 are in Gun Gale Online (GGO) which has a more serious atmosphere and where you get to see Kirito (Kirigaya) do his typical badass stuff.
Basically what happens is some guy is able to kill people in the real world in GGO, someone with the government is assigned to deal with it, luckily this person is acquaintances with Kirito through the SAO incident, the government man goes to Kirito since he knows Kirito is experienced with the virtual world, and gives Kirito a job to stop Death Gun (the guy killing people in real life through the game).
It's a gun type MMO but Kirito chooses a light saber type weapon. A lot of people complain about this and how it's crazy how Kirito can just run at people shooting him and knocking their bullets out of the air, but it honestly made sense to me. All the virtual worlds are based on the same "world seed" from SAO which makes it possible for people to convert their accounts over and retain their skills/levels. And as we all know, Kirito was a badass in SAO and ALO, being a speed demon among other things. There could also be other factors like GGO using different variables for bullet speed than in real world. You see it happen all the time in gun games. It makes the game more fair.

The story for the first half was pretty nice. I was entertained and we even get introduced to a new character called Sinon (Shino). The anime kept focusing on both her and Kirito but it worked out pretty well. The other half (episodes 15 and up) was a nice reintroduction to all the characters. It was like a planned goodbye to us. At the end the feels were real, man.

The art was more or less the same old. They did have pretty CGI though.

Sound was normal. Voice actors, the music, all of it.

Characters could have been better, especially when it came to Kirito. It felt too forced on him when they were trying to make him "grow" but it's easy to ignore since we already know how much growing he did in the first season. Shino and Asuna felt more realistic though. They overcome their hardships instead of trying to rely solely on other people, and grow as a result.

I enjoyed Sword Art Online 2, same as I did for Sword Art Online. Maybe it's because I enjoy MMORPGs and am hoping for virtual reality that is as advanced as it is in this anime to become real. That and I just love badass main characters that take everyone by surprise with how powerful they are after the enemy underestimated them. Guess that's why Overlord and Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu are my favorite "overpowered MC" type anime.

tl;dr if you liked Sword Art Online then you'll like this second season since the first arc focuses on Kirito being a badass with a light saber in a gun MMO to find a murderer and the last arc is a beautiful farewell to us from all the characters we know and love.

To start this short review off, I'm just gonna say Netsuzou TRap isn't your typical NTR. We can all agree NTR is cancer, but in this anime it was slightly different.
The main character is Yuma, a woman, and (this ain't even a spoiler, you know damn well what anyone who watches this anime is coming here for) she doesn't realize she's totally lesbo for Hotaru (neighbor+childhood friend) till practically the end. Her love interest isn't stolen away like normal NTR dictates either.
The whole anime we're put through some pretty nice character development on Yuma's part. Not "amazing," but done pretty well considering each episode is ... only 8 minutes long. Everyone else is non-existent. I think the main reason why this anime is getting such bad ratings is that:
1) The side-dicks (they're guys, so not side-chicks, get it? eh? eh?) are really awful. Takeda was the the literal definition of "Nice Guy" and Fujiwara was just an ass hole. They were pretty much useless to the yuri story except for slowing down the progress between Yuma and Hotaru. Still get what we want in the end though.
2) People don't understand that finding out you're gay/bi isn't some instantaneous thought process especially in a society where that sort of thing is frowned on most of the time. Luckily this anime has giant time skips so we don't have to go through years of Yuma wondering if she's a gay girl or just jealous.

Story was a 5 since it was just stalling, but still worked out (sort of).
Art was 9 since it's pretty normal for 2017, so it's good.
Sound was 9 for the same reason. I will say the music wasn't memorable though, but the voice actors sounded cute and into it.
Characters was 5 since Yuma was literally the only one that showed any signs of growing and changing.
Enjoyment was a 6 since this anime was pretty realistic with Yuma and her coming to grips that she might actually love another girl. Loved all the teasing Hotaru did too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Overall I give it a 6 since it isn't the best of love stories, even frustrating at some points, but it's okay if you want to see yuri romance with a nice ending.

I went into this anime because I like genderbender. TRUE genderbender, not crossdressing. But even then, if they fall in line with my tastes they can still be pretty good like Ouran High School.
At first I didn't want to see this anime because the MC on the front cover had the skin tone men usually have in anime, and he didn't look like he would fit the "female" role. Luckily he looks 3x better in the anime and pulls it off perfectly.
The story was fun and sweet and they didn't overplay filler type sequences to where it got annoying. It had a bittersweet ... ending in my opinion that makes me long for a season two, but this was made in 16 years ago so R.I.P. my hopes and dreams.
The art was pretty good for 2001 anime so it isn't unbearable to watch.
Same with the sound.
The characters were likable, especially the MC. Character development was okay as well. The romance wasn't amazing, but it'll still ping you in the heart where it counts, especially towards the end.
Overall I really enjoyed this anime.
It's so hard to find a good genderbender anime. There's a whole bunch of manga out there, but in the anime industry it's like it's a rare breed of animal... Really glad I gave this a try.

Here comes dat boi with another short review in response to all the haters.

I went into this anime because I like stories that make the MC come from "our" world and then they get transferred to a fantasy world but with some sort of advantage that makes them better than most people, like Overlord.

The anime doesn't have a complicated and deep storyline, but who says that's a bad thing? Coming to an anime like this and criticizing it for the story is like going to a football game to watch the romance.

The story's basically about a guy named Touya who dies, gets a giant ... boost to his overall traits by "God" along with his smartphone, and then gets transferred to this fantasy world where he has now uses his giant advantages to be a good Samaritan. He meets harem girls, fights badies in the name of justice, and even acts like a normal human being unlike most harem protagonists.

The reason I liked this anime so much is because the MC isn't a total wimp and the harem thing actually has a conclusion, not a standstill like ever other cliche harem anime out there does. Touya doesn't just fidget an entire episode when a girl walks past him, and even better, he isn't a weakling that stands on the sidelines powerless to stop every little bad occurrence.
I genuinely enjoyed all the simple explanations about this fantasy world and all his interactions, especially since NO TIME WAS WASTED. They didn't waste half an episode showing them traveling some where, or 10 minutes explaining why something works and why something doesn't.

Art, and sound were all pretty normal for a fun little anime like this. Character development was... There? I guess? But like I said, it's not super deep. I really enjoyed this anime. The MC in here is how the one in Re:Zero SHOULD HAVE been. This anime doesn't beat a dead horse with it's comedy like KonoSuba S2 did.

I'm writing this SUPER short review just because of all the butthurt comments I'm continuously seeing about this anime.

I first approached this anime because the plot seemed interesting. I mean, come on, some "higher dimensional" being that comes into our average world to speed up our progress as a human race? I had to see how they would play this out realistically. I wasn't bored a single second of the anime because of how well they portrayed how an authentic government would handle something like that and anything this potential threat provided. So in that regard, the story lived up exactly to how it describes ... in MAL's synopsis.

Character development and sounds were pretty decent, nothing to complain about.

The only thing I had a problem with in this anime was the ugly CGI and the ending. They mix the typical animation with CGI the majority of the time. CGI is ugly when you use it on main and supporting characters, but for special scenes with lights slapping everyone in the face and magical pewpew beams it looks really well, so I guess I can't complain.
In the end it didn't turn out like Berserk's CGI animation, so I'm really thankful.

The ending could have been done better. It was like they just gave up trying to explain stuff and slapped something together to be Edgelord-worthy.

tl;dr Good anime worth a watch if you like realistic first-encounter stuff, but has an ending that isn't the best, but NOT enough to judge the entire anime negatively.

This anime angered me enough to write this short review:
If you're looking for a romance anime don't even bother here. This is literally Blueballs the Anime. There was so much potential for a good ending yet they just keep letting this game of cat and mouse go on. Misunderstanding after misunderstanding. Was honestly a pain to sit through.
Story was pretty episodic but they still managed to have some story progress little by little. Isn't really that impressive either.
Art was normal for that year. Nothing fancy.
Sound could have been better. They re-use the soundtrack a lot but you won't notice it since it's pretty decent and ... the voice actors aren't a pain to listen to.
Character development was almost nonexistent except for a few people like, Harima and Sawachika who become more realistic in their mindsets towards unrequited love. Everyone else pretty much remains the same and doesn't change.
Enjoyment? I honestly laughed quite a lot during some episodes, but I came here for romance AND comedy like the genre tags said. I don't enjoy going to an anime in hopes of romance just to get a gag anime the blueballs you for 26 episodes, not delivering any satisfaction.
Seriously, avoid this anime unless you're just looking for a school based gag anime with unrequited love. Even the freaking minor characters got more love action than the main character. That's how bad this is. Surprised it took most reviewers here till the third season to finally realize that.

I don't really write reviews, but seeing Mayoiga's low score was just upsetting. Mayoiga in all honesty wasn't a bad anime but I think people were disappointed because the tags are misleading and the ending was sort of anticlimactic.
This anime isn't really a "horror" anime like the tags say, but more along the lines of a supernatural mystery.
The story is about people who have experienced trouble in their past and banded together online to take a trip to a rumored hidden village where they can "start over." This of course doesn't go as planned and they started seeing mysterious things.
i can't really say much ... or I'll be spoiling the whole thing, but basically the kids have to reopen old wounds and face their past.
The art was pretty good and a certain grandma in the story was so well drawn it had me wondering how they could draw it so detailed.
Sound wasn't that bad
Characters development was okay. You don't really see much going on except with the protagonist Mitsumune and the characters he interacts with most like Masaki and Hayato.
I enjoyed Mayoiga even though I was originally looking for an actual horror anime (I've seen so many I just can't find any anymore).
It's a good watch but it's not something that will have you hyped up and talking about it for weeks to come.
