The only thing holding me back from a 10 is the fact that this show almost looked like a dud out of the gates. What I ended up finding along the way was one of the most beautifully told romances I have seen in awhile. As a fan of the overall genre, the ability to express emotion without words is a huge draw for this show. Sure, these characters are a little awkward at times, but the audience is rewarded every moment.

Any cliche moments are thrown into the blender, processed, and scattered faintly within these episodes, but what shines through are the refreshing ways they ... are amplified. Every episode warms the heart further and further, and I cannot wait for season 2. This is a new personal favorite.

The music, which is the same composer as Silent Voice, has definitely honed in on his craft, as this series could not work as well as it does without his soft, subdued tones carrying the emotion perfectly for the characters to fill the moment with.

This is a very strong showing and I eagerly await January to be given more special moments with this surprising success.
