One for the guys that like the whole history or war and the art of war kinda thing.
Think back through all the alternate universe/ timeline plots you've read and you'll probably realize they all have one thing in common...it definitely has something to do with the modern world. Indeed, whether it is a ninja arriving in modern time or some kid who went to the demon world, there's always a link to our daily life so we can relate to it better... Drifter throws that out the window
Without spoiling or going in too deep, Drifters is about a bunch of warriors from all culture

who are sent to a magical world (with your usual magical races) after their death...or sent to the world right before they died *shurgs*. So essentially you have a heap of warriors and a massive piece of land...the only logical step is for them to make a name for themselves, right? A collaboration with not relation to the modern world is pretty exciting idea and rather enjoyable.
There are two points of interest in drifters. First is the characters, which are mostly war heroes such as Nobunaga and *spoiler* from France. If you are well researched with your history of war you will probably understand most of the references and happily read away. Fortunately they didn't go overboard so even if you don't get it tis ok.
Second point is the art of war. Here we are talking about war tactics, where generals make elaborate plans to destroy their enemies without losing too much on their side. Though the manga hasn't really lifted off it showed enough 'art' to impress so great things can be expected form this manga later on
quick word about art... pretty good but the characters can be drawn really poorly at times (during the cool, badass faces =.=)
Overall this is definitely one for the history freaks and even if you're not, this manga shouldn't feel too alienating so have a go XD

"A jack of all trades, master of none."
that's the impression I got after watching the first six episodes of Ichizon.
While the promo pictures gives off the impression of some sort of Galgame, Seitokai actually focuses on humor and gags, using multiple otaku references per episode which are, undeniably, hilarious.
Seitokai focuses on the student council of a particular school, consisting of four sterotypical 'moe' heroines displayed in an almost satirical way and a guy who wants to reach a 'harem end'. There is no visible plot (or yet) and it pretty much just injects a fair amount of lulz and references into some sort of situation

which presents itself each episode, which a great amount of us wouldn't mind seeing if that was the case.
The problem began after the first half of the episode. In a somewhat awkard way, the show attempted to bring in some heart-warming/ somewhat depressing scenario which would propel the plot forward, creating inconsistent and confusing pacing. It feels kinda unsatisfying I guess; you want gag but they throw in the serious. you want serious they cheapen it with gags. In my case, who can't seem to comprimise in the middle, this show is around average.To reconfirm my stance, i actually went and read the manga a bit. And... it feels like an alternate retelling rather than an adaption...
The attiude when watching this to avoid dissapointment:
Don't get overhyped by the gags. getting too much excitement in your brain makes it difficult to swallow the next half.
well, since I'm lazy I ain't commenting on other parameters (technical-wise, it's pretty good). Despite all i've said, do have a look at Seitokai. After all, I'm known are being slightly paranoid
PS. if you don't understand most of the technical wording in this review, you might not be for this show yet and you might miss some of the punchlines. Try something like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu or Lucky Start first.

Ah haven't wrote one of these for a while *^*
The second season of Haruhi is probably the most interesting controversial incident in my anime years. The random announcements of Kadokawa, then their trolling, fan rages, the disappearance of the disappearance of Suzu-Haruhi (unconfirmed)...let's get started.
Story:
This is not a continuation. The two season's relationship is more like Full Metal Panic and fumoffu (a main series and a series highlighting unseen parts of the main series). Despite fan disapproval (99.95% due to over-expectation), I enjoyed Season 2 a fair bit. S2 has a slightly gloomy tone at times as it explores the philosophical nature of the

anime's "world" and Haruhi's influence on such a world. Probably informative more than funny/exciting. (If you're some kinda freak you might also see it as romantic)
Art:
It was since Lucky Star that Kyoani became a tad lazy with its quality. On one hand we have visual quality like we saw in the first season. On the other we have character faces that were from plain to downright weird.
Sound:
Not a big critic of sounds. A nice OP and ED is all I can say :P
Characters:
Most sequels fail in this category for me, probably because of the lack of new ideas and character development. I believe S2's main focus is in character development, especially Kyon influence on Haruhi (I actually believe this is the main idea for the series). The club members’ actions towards Haruhi's whims further shows their roles both as club members and 'defenders" of their respective realities.
Enjoyment:
Enjoyable. S2 opens more questions about the series than it actually answers. Maybe I read too deep into things, but the way they talk about "Haruhi's world" really creates depth to the melancholy universe. Don’t expect to see moe-overload and lots of lovely Haruhi. This one ain’t moe-otaku firendly

Not the most epic thing since Kanon, but a good light-hearted read.
So here we have yet another visual novel translation. Nothing special you may be thinking to yourself. But HC love lesson is unusual, perhaps even refreshing in many ascpects.
So what's "unusual"?. If we read the synopsis we would find the term "love lesson".
In a nutshell, our hero's school has something like "dating" lessons where the students are taught "tips" on courting, dating and the lot. So what we have is the hero attending these love lessons with the heroines. What happens next will be leave to your imagination ;)
now to the serious business:
Story:

not as "segmented" as most VN adaption and does not drag on too much with each story. However, we are looking at the cliche-original plotline ratio at roughly 60-40.
Art: I guess the correct word to describe its style would be Moe. Cute and crisp.
However, lacks detail and crazy use of tone paper.
Character:
I would say the pool of heroine is one of conflict. But generally friendly competition (don't worry, this ain't School days)
Overall:
good story, interesting element of the love lesson. The plot can be a bit cliche at times however. Probably a good one for harem fans (especially Da Capo)

When I first looked at this anime, I didn't think much about it. Now it's one of my favorites this season:
Natsume Yuujinchou is, in a nutshell, about a boy (Natsume Takashi) that can see spirits (demons, gods etc). Because of this, Natsume has been seen by his family as a "freak" and was never accepted in his relatives' house after his parents died.
The story takes place in a small village where another one of his relatives' house, where he found a book left behind by his late grandmother that can control any spirits that have their name in it...
Natsume is a pretty episodic anime that

packed with slice. The story is generally laid back while it still has a mysterious notion within each episode. A genuine slice of life anime. For people who doesn't understand that, slice of life pretty much means "The main character going about his daily life", there's not going to be massive plot twists, epic action or anything of that sort.
The animation of generally acceptable. Not particularly colorful like your shounen anime, but the dim coloring blends pretty well with the backgrounds. Out of the 4 episodes i've watched, there hasn't been any big changes in the animation, so i believe there won't be any degrading in the animation throughout the series
This is probably the only setback to Natsume, the music. The OP and ED are a bit too laid back. Good for background music, but has no ipod/mp3 worthiness whatsoever in my opinion.
There are not much reoccurring characters in Natsume.
we have Natsume, who is a lazy but kindhearted boy and Nyako, a demon cat who just bums around but occassionally helps Natsume.
A major difference between this anime and other demon-themed anime is that demons in Natsume is usually good demons. While they do go berserk at times, these demons are generally friendly. A nice change compare to all those demon hunting anime.
Personally, I'm quite a fan of slice of life anime so this one is quite a treat. The nice demons were also something rare so pretty happy about that. If you want to find something else like Natsume, try Mushishi.

No Bra: Please note this manga is somewhat Yaoi (Guy on guy). Just to warn u guys first :)
Story: No Bra follow the story of Tokyo high schooler Masato. In the begining, Masato was noticed that a childhood friend is going to live at his house. Like any harem, that childhood friend is a cute girl. However...
Nomura Yuuki is a male cross-dresser (and possibly gay)
I guess everyone can see where this is going ;)
The Story of No Bra is original. While it may be odd for some, it is an alright comedy and an intersting but eerie eechi vibe.

art ( see ichigo 100%, IO and MxO). Nothing particular fancy and nothing too odd about it.
Characters: Seeing that you have a gay cross-dresser. The characters surrounding him(/her!?) is original. The indecisive male lead takes on a whole new challenge (about his gender prefrence), which is pretty interesting to read. Not much to say about the others characters though...
Enjoyment: While I have been positive here, it does have its faults. While it does have originality and is quite funny, the concept of the "struggling gender preference" may be overused and does take up massive manga squares. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem :).
This manga is recommended to older audiences. The sensitive theme of this manga may leave yound readers with a disgusting aftertaste.

The art is simple and sketchy, which is fairly suitable for the manga's feel (cool, slice of life). Due to it's relations with Kanon, w3 also lost marks for drawing the main characters that mildly to barely resembling their original counter-parts at all.
Characters: 7
All characters in w3 are copied from the original kanon, yet their actual personalities are less...um...passionate and friendly than the originals. Personally, I quite enjoyed these new characters, but their little resemblance to the originals are a slight of a turn-off.
Enjoyment: 9
Although I said quite a few things about this manga, the fact that it's an omake from Kanon still appeals to me. The "in-humor" is pretty interesting while the cool and mysterious characters gets me quite absorbed to the manga. I would recommend this to anyone who've seen, read, played Kanon. It's a short read anyway :)

Kanon is the manga adaption of Key's Kanon PC game:
Story: 10
To make this brief, Kanon is about a guy (Aizawa Yuichi) who started living in a town, where he meets lots of chicks and had fun everyday. Every chapter of the manga is dedicated to one chick, where their entire arc from the game is summed up and "manga-nized". This Manga is all joy. There are a lot of cute and funy bits and most of the sad moments are taken out.
Art: 9
The art, while unrealistic, is cute and cuddly. The art is very lively and informal, perfect for leisure reading.

a bit bias since I read this after watching the anime (2006), but I reckon the characters in the manga are perfect. The male lead is kind hearted, funny and mean at times while the female leads are all unique and most importantly, MOE.
Enjoyment: 10
Kanon is a well-made comedy manga. While it's drifted from it's romance and harem ideas (game and anime), it's comedy turns itself into something enjoyable.
For people who watched Kanon (2002 0r 2006), the review might make more sense here...

Cosplay complex is a three episode OVA about... well, cosplay...
Story: Cosplay Complex, in a nutshell, is about a cosplay club in a high school. (Can't really say anymore because one little thing can spoil 1/3 of the episode ==)
The story kinda highlights a few main events in a sport anime and doesn't really follow have a logical plot but since this anime is an individual OVA, it does not have to make sense.
Art: What can I say here? This is made in 2002, so you just have to lower your expectation a bit. For that time period, the animation is not too shabby. While

it's not your kyo-ani style, it should satisfy your basic visual stanards.
Sound: There is not much good background music in Cosplay complex. The OP or the ED are nothing speical too. But if you happen to like Mahou Shoujo OPs (gauken alice, cardcaptor), I would say it's not bad.
Characters: This is pretty much the charm of this anime. Cosplay Complex has a good set of characters. Made simply for comedy, these characters are pretty stereotypical of a group of high school girls, an "eccentric" guy and various randies for comical relief. While the characters has no background whatsoever, one should just forget about all the troubles you have with drama-based anime and just laugh away. Also, due to the fact that this has cosplay, get your anime checklist ready to spot the parody (got quite a few every episode)
Enjoyment: All I have to say is "don't think too much about this anime, you're not going to be pondering about character development or plot twists and stuff. Just watch it with an empty mind and you'll probably enjoy this."
This is probably for more hard-core anime watchers. I don't think normal people and new anime-watchers can really grasp it's humor

This is the review for Da Capo second season, the second of the DC series...
I write this review based on the knowledge that people have seen Da Capo, but i'll try my best not to spoil anything from the first season.
(For this review i'll refer to Da capo as DC and Da Capo Second season as DCSS)
Story (8):
I'd say the storyline is pretty average. DCSS's storyline can be split into two halves. first half of DCSS focuses on character building and linking the 2 seasons together. Pretty much filler episodes.The second half is pumped with drama.

I can't deny that the first half was pretty boring. So can't really give the full score here.
Art (8):
The art is decent quality. Possibly due to the change in animators, the animation from DC and DCSS was a bit different and maybe a bit hard to get use to at the start, but dosen't really matter. The animation is nothing special, not much GC and simple 2D styled.
Sound (10):
The background music wasn't exactly special, but it suited the anime. The OP was awesome (downloaded it after the 1st episode) and the ED is not bad. Didn't actually listen to the second ED so can't really comment on that...
Character (9)
the return of the original cast of characters was a good. The new main bishoujo (Aisia), which was pretty much the head of the series, was a bit painful to watch at the first half but redeemed herself during the second half. The new cast of Haremettes were a bit too stereotype for my liking and their identity lacked depth, possibly due to the lack of airing time they have.
Due to the new haremetts, it feels like there were too much deredere in the series so the balance of characters weren't as good as DC.
Enjoyment: (8)
The start was a bit painful to watch, but the end turned out to be really good.
Some might argue that the drama is not evenly distributed, but I enjoyed it.
This one is definitely for those that are die-hard idealized romance fans. (raise hand)
