Spoilers Ahead, btw:
Truthfully, this movie is visually amazing. Great character designs, camera shots and very fluid animation. The story and characters on the other hand... well the movie is quite abysmal.
The villain avoids death twice, the writers didn't know how to make him escape the situation they wrote for him to be in, so they simply didn't show how he did it, he fell to his death and then exploded with a grenade.
Spike gets shoot in the chest and somehow survives and after less than I week (I can only assume), fights the bad guy in the end. Also a small side note; while Spike
...
was looking around at the Eiffel tower, the bad guy could've shoot Spike from the shadows, instead he ran towards Spike and then shot him that way and missed his vital spot, again.
Ed never told Jet where Faye was and that she was with the bad guy. For all Ed knew, she could've been dead and Ed did nothing to help, lol. Oh, and Jet doesn't do anything of note in the entire movie, all his scenes depict him as an incompetent idiot.
The black guy who helps the bad guy was a one dimensional idiot, never got a sense of motive or reason he helped the bad guy.
After the death of the black guy, Faye doesn't die because the bad guys motives are terrible, he saves her becuz he was horny (the only other reason you could find is that he mistakenly remembers her to be his lover, but that's stupid too, because he almost killed his actual lover in the train...). The villains motives are revealed by exposition and it feels hollow and stupid.
I didn't understand how they found Spike in Arab town the second time he was there, but I could've missed what led to that part.
The way Spike escaped the prison cell was laughably easy and incompetent from the part of the other bad guys. Also they are never shown to be punished by the end of the movie (seriously that part never gets resolved).
The army shooting at Spike over the City (full of civilians) was stupid. The cure to the virus being thrown from planes was nonsensical, I've no idea how that would cure all the people exposed to the nanomachines. And I have no idea how there were no security guards to stop Faye from sending the rain to the parade. I also have no idea how she got away from that situation and why wasn't she arrested.
If I rewatch the movie I'd probably find more nonsensical and stupid actions by the characters. But for now I am 100% satisfied by this terrible movie. 1 or 2 out of 10 for now.

I watched the first episode when it was airing and consequently dropped it. I kinda regret doing that, because this show has some unexpectedly fun parts in it.
It's on the verge of being a good show for me, it has a lot of funny meta humor and likable character interactions.
The worst part of the show is the low-quality-feel that it has, and sadly I don't think people overcame that part and just dropped it.
For a warning, the first episode in quite generic, but from the second episode on, the MC conquers all the girls and it's quite enjoyable to watch.
If there is one
...
episode that stands out, it has to be the ninth episode. After "getting with" all the girls, the protagonist contemplates going after one of the guys in order to get his party to full capacity, it's genuinely a great episode, with a lot of comedic elements.
I liked the main character, he is quite the doofus (that's a positive btw) and I also liked Mana the lewd companion (some people found her unbearable [haha], but I am used to loud characters).
The show has 12 episodes and it has a proper conclusion, that's right it's one of those "in-another-world" that actually ends. Some of the "episode by episode" reaction of people in threads are quite hilarious witch added to my viewing experience. For more info go to the website.

(some spoilers ahead)
Terrible Pacing: A character will start monologuing in a do-or-die situation for a few minutes and the antagonists will just stay there and do nothing (this happened twice with the Florist and then with Ace at the warehouse). The show will spend 4-5 minutes on a analogy (the 3 pigs one) with little pay off and also add dialogue that goes nowhere (the importance of gem rarity). The story is running to get to season two and thus leaping and cutting non-essential ingredients that could add flavor to this anime (From removal of backgrounds of characters like Banda-kun, reduction of how horrifying
...
the Florist's abilities are, retconning essential characters and putting others in a literal shot in the background from a expository scene), but also at the same time spoiling stuff from future story arcs and adding an unnecessary character that ruins a moment that the main character experiences at a crucial point.
The Animation: It's enjoyable, mostly in the first half of the show. There are parts where the animation deeps in quality tho. The worst has to be episode 9 (the first fight was terribly animated with characters explaining the fight while it was happening and the second one was rushed so fast in order to get to the next episode). In fact the fighting parts of this anime (aside from the second-half of the first episode and some of the fast fights here-and-there) were pretty terrible and sometimes continuity breaking (the fight between the karate-eyepatch and sonic comes to mind).
The Artstyle: I didn't mind the character designs that much, but I couldn't get over the terrible blur and some of the constant light effects, especially when it was day or a lit room.
The Soundtrack: I don't think it's bad, but it wasn't fitting at all for me, there was like a constant disconnect between what was happening visually and whenever a track started to play. Also, I couldn't get over that terrible loud dubstep song, that was godawful for me.
The Voice Acting Coordination: The voice actors sounded excellent and did a great job, but I feel like in some (minor) tense parts they were underperforming due to lack of direction.
It's a good ad for the manga, but I don't know if anyone will like this after reading the manga. There were a lot of positives that I didn't mention due to the huge negatives that I experienced. The clever writing is mostly buried in the rushed story and the good animated scenes are buried in the clunky scene to scene animation and terrible fight scenes. I don't know.

I had a great experience with this show, it reminds me of Lost; the amount of characters, their flashbacks, their struggles and the storytelling in general.
I like the characters in this show, they seem to be very exaggerated versions of tragic characters from fiction and real life, and are handled pretty well from start to finish. I can definitely buy the arguments, accusations and even the events of mob mentality they experienced throughout the show.
(some spoilers for the next part)
I would have preferred more from the background characters that I got from the show, but that would've require more then twelve episodes. I would've appreciated
...
a more secular take of the story after episode nine, I thought they where going to make the monsters into hallucinations caused by some contamination in the village or a "half-real half-fiction" reveal (something like higurashi), but I am satisfied with what I got, even after the plot twists.
(end of potential spoilers)
Most of the show is in the dark. It has great ambience, good animation, some good 3d models for the monsters and some not so good for the bus.
I liked it a lot and I would re-watch it in the future.

It took way too many episodes for the show to get good, the best episodes being 8/11/12, I didn't even see a glimpse of why people liked it so much until I watched those.
The biggest downside in the early parts, for me, was the way the show was adapted from manga to anime. Some parts felt drawn-out and other parts felt very awkward due to failure to recapture the scenes from the manga properly.
The story is build by smaller tangent stories, that don't build towards a specific finish, it's actually very open ended. Some of the tangent stories where very forgettable.
There were some
...
good shots that used shadows in a very pleasing way near the end of the show. Whenever the moon appeared, it was very well drawn.
I found very strange the lack of good animation for the episode with the weaving and also the one with the ritualistic dance, those could've been way more impactful, if they were handled better.

First of all, I don't know if they will make more episodes of this, but I'd really love more.
Have I said that I love this chiname? Cuz, I really, really do!
At first, I was ready for the typical shlock, but I saw that the episode was 7 minutes long, so I decided to finish it. Saw like 5-6 anime and movie references (from Haruhi to Kill Bill) and then the second half of the episode... exploded out of nowhere, the animation went from a 7 to 11, people 434334 on 4212, then the MC was 532523 and I had to see where
...
this masterpiece was going!
So, I went to episode two and holy moly, the animation was at 110% and the references went from anime and movies to stuff like Minecraft and Trump.
What a ride, truly one of the best animations this decade has seen.
