It's honestly not that bad. I've seen 17 episodes and I actually found myself pleasantly surprised with it. I know a lot of people say it's a carbon copy of Naruto and nothing is really thought out, and on that point I completely agree. I do feel like the children are carbon copies of their parents and could've been designed better. However, I find it really nostalgic that the characters are just like their parents, and for someone who loved Naruto (for all it's fillers and sometimes unnecessary story plots), I really found myself enjoying Boruto.
One thing that I feel the Boruto series does differently
...
from the Naruto series is that you get to see the side characters grow as well. One thing that really bothered me about Naruto was that often times they only focused on him and Sasuke's character development, and completely disregarded the side characters who often showed up in crucial times to assist. Then, they'd do a 20 episode filler about how that side character gained their new skills and it was really annoying. However, in Boruto, you get to see the characters grow together and that's really interesting to me.
I'm also in interested in the fact that story line has the potential to be really good. I mean, the producers can really delve deep into their creativity and give us a mind blowing, amazing, action-packed story line, or they can give us a carbon copy of Naruto. I seriously hope that the producers give us something good though. I genuinely am curious about where Boruto's character will end up and what his dreams and goals are. A lot of people are upset because from day one we knew what Naruto's goals are, but we don't know what Boruto's goals are. I think that's what makes this anime interesting to me is that Boruto doesn't know what he wants to do or be, all he knows is that he doesn't want to be like his Dad who he sees as someone who disregards his family.
People are also upset because they feel like the children have too much power for their age and want it to reset to the way Naruto was when it first started. I think that's complete B.S. and hear me out on this. I understand that it doesn't make sense for these kids to be super powerful when they're just kids, and I was also annoyed by this, but after thinking about it for a while I came to this conclusion: All the characters from the older generation have grown and developed their skills to the point where they are extremely powerful. In the beginning of the Naruto series, the "older generation" (Itachi, Kakashi, Jiraiya Sensee, etc.) were never as strong as the "older generation" for Boruto (Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto, etc.). So, I think it's understandable as to why the children seem so "strong". If you think about it on a grander scale, a lot of the older generation (Naruto, Sakura, etc.) have surpassed the generation before them (Kakashi, Itachi, etc.), and therefore if we want our new generation to catch up to Naruto and them, it'll take forever and would mean that they would gain a lot of power in a relatively short amount of time. So yes, they gave them a few extra powers. I, for one, feel like it doesn't really matter if they have that power if they don't know how to use it. That's just my two cents though.
Overall, I'd say it's worth watching to see if you really like it for yourself. There are definitely plot holes and things that don't really match up, but overall I would say don't cross it off as something you'll never watch. It definitely has potential and honestly, watching 4 episodes (to the other reviewers) and crossing it off your list isn't really a good representation of what the anime is. People don't want it to be like Naruto but since it's still in the Naruto universe, I'm sure we'll see a lot of the same themes/morals emerge that we saw in the Naruto series. Give it a try and decide for yourself if it's worth watching it or not. I, for one, will continue to watch it!

I've never watched any of the Naruto movies, hell, I don't watch any anime movies PERIOD. I often feel like they're rushed and over packed with information, but I found myself enjoying Boruto a lot.
I particularly enjoyed the story line. Although it's overdone in the Naruto franchise and sends the same message many other Naruto movies do, I think that's what made me like it so much. It was nostalgic to me and made me want to re-watch the older Naruto episodes. It also made me genuinely curious as to what Boruto will do once he is older. His dream differs from Naruto, and that
...
means that there are countless ways the story can be directed. Hopefully they don't botch it and give us a shitty story for the TV show.
As for the art, that's something that will have to take some time for me. Even the Boruto tv show art has me feeling like I'm watching a poorly drawn anime. It's still better than some animes out there, but it could be so much better.
I think the biggest thing I like about this was the character development for Boruto. You really got to see him grow as a character in the short (yes short) two hours that the producers had. At first, Boruto couldn't understand his dad and often despised him for being busy, but at the end of the day Boruto realized that his dad is the way he is because of what he has experienced. It's not only that his dad has to ensure the safety of others, but that others look up to his dad as someone who will protect them in times of need.
I think a lot of people are upset because they don't recognize the Naruto now, but I think it's safe to say that Naruto is still who he is deep down. However, he is more limited in what he can say and do because the responsibilities of a Hokage are no joke.
Overall, Boruto pleasantly surprised me and it really made me interested in watching the TV series.

Ahh, where do I start? Well first and foremost, this is an OVA, not a movie. Please remember that. If you're looking for a fleshed-out, character growth-type of story/show, this isn't it for you. Now, if you're looking for a quick-fix of anime, this is it for yah.
Let's start with the story. The producers did a really good job fleshing out the main points of the story line, and drawing viewers in. They also did a pretty decent job telling the story in about 33 minutes. Of course, because there was only 33 minutes, the story seemed extremely rushed. I found myself asking a
...
lot of questions at the end of the OVA. But then again, this is an OVA. The story gets an 8 from me though. I hope the good reviews of this OVA will give it the green light to be developed into an Anime. It definitely has the potential to be one of the best out there.
Art. This is my favorite. The crisp drawing and colors really caught my attention. I'm a stickler for art, and I can say this. The art really enhances the story line and the character's persona. Not to mention the fact that the animation is pretty freaking awesome too.
I gave the characters an 7 because they all seem very interesting. I'm quite interested in finding out Frankenstein's story and what he was doing while his Master was "asleep." I'm also interested in Rai's story (obviously because he's the main character), and how he got to where he is now. Despite the interesting story's that the characters may carry, they all seem to lack any unique personality. Rai is the typical, "cool-headed, bad-ass Master." Frankenstein is the "obedient, loyal, second-bad ass" character and the others are your typical "weak female, nerdy/geeky friend, and hot-headed 'I want to save the world'" characters. Of course, it was an OVA, so I guess you couldn't see much of their personality anyway... But still, if it does develop into an anime, I hope they do away with the un-original personalities and give us something with more substance.
Overall, I really enjoyed the OVA despite it being extremely rushed. As mentioned earlier, I hope that the producers will be given the green light to develop this into an anime. The story line seems to have a lot of substance, and the art/animation is exceptional. Plus, who doesn't need a good Vampire anime?

Fairy Tail... Where do I begin? First, I just want to tell you not to be thrown off by the scores. After all, I did decide to watch this anime even though one of the reviews gave it a 5...!
The thing I liked most about this anime was the Music. The beginning OST, and ending OST's were beautiful, and they were by far some of the best! With that said... The second thing I liked about this anime was that the fighting scenes weren't very long. Most lasted about 2 episodes maybe 3, and the very Important ones were maybe 4. If you're
...
thinking that's a lot... Go watch One Piece, those battles are SUPER long, although I was okay with it because it was interesting. It's all a matter of preference, but I felt that the short battles worked for Fairy Tail. That's the other thing I like about this anime. It doesn't really drag things around. It just cuts right to the chase, which again works out wonderfully for the anime.
As every anime has pros, every anime must also have cons... The thing I disliked THE most is originality... The writers/producers had no originality in the battle system whatsoever. By this I mean, that every fighting scene could be summed up easily. The "hero" lays the smack down on the boss, the boss "powers" up, and then beats up the hero. The "hero" talks about not letting his friends down, and then somehow gathers enough power to defeat the boss...! Almost every battle scene is like this. After a while it gets annoying, but it's something you can bear... At least for now. Another thing I didn't really like is character progression. I saw none of that, and it really upsetted me! For 175 episodes the characters BARELY progress! By progress I mean emotionally, skillfully, etc. Their's NO character progression at all, but as the Manga is not complete yet, maybe we'll see some character progression later on...
Overall, I give this anime a solid 6. While Music, and simplicity were great about this anime, what really hurt it was tthe fact that It was a little TOO simple, which led to little originality and that led to no character progression. I do urge you to try it, as it does have its good moments! Thank you, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
