Fortunately, this movie has just been released online.
Unfortunately, it's very likely we will have to wait until October to watch the fourth and final movie: Winter of Rebirth, while it's already released in Japan.
But I'll stop complaining and review this movie.
Story: 8
For an Atlus adaptation from videogame to anime movie, many things must be omitted. Like the other 2 movies, we won't see any Social Link, or supporting characters back story, which isn't a big deal regarding the plot. Though, many things were removed from the main story as well, I can point out that I disliked the way the animators cut off how Junpei
...
is kidnapped and Chidori became a villain, the same way as they cut off great part of the Love Hotel arc.
But, the love relationship between Chidori and Junpei turned out aceptable. It didn't feel profound, nor did it feel shallow. The most worked out thing was how Makoto felt, and deal with depression. I think the way they portrayed his friendship with Ryoji was very good, and make this character more sympathetic than the game.
The story was well paced, and focused on Makoto's struggles rather than action, though this doesn't mean it hasn't a dosis of quality animated fights.
Art 9
Better than Persona 4, and it looks better on the night. Nuff said.
Sound 8
Remixed songs from the original game and new ones are there, so there's no complaints. I would've liked LotusJuice did more rapping.
Character 8
As I pointed before, the movie focuses almost solely on Makoto and Ryoji, the other SEES members are given quick twists. Short, but fitting given the short movie length.
Enjoyment 8
I have just played Persona 3 Portable for the PSP, and I'm very glad to have this anime movie adaptation. All felt too familiar and the charisma of the characters wasn't gone. I even continued to hate Takaya and Jin. Though I wish the villains were given more screen time.
Overall 8
Persona casual fans (like me) have no reasons to complain of this and the other adaptations. About Persona 3 die hard fans... you have a good adaptation for now.
If I were the director, I would have increased the running time for all movies, making each 2 hours long. I would've put more tension between Aigis and Yukari, developed slowly a love relationship between Aigis and Makoto (which is canon, by the way), gave more focus on Junpei and Chidori romance as well, making Chidori a more memorable character.
And I would've used Social Link characters that fit with the mood of each movie.
Like, Chihiro for the first one, Spring of Birth, for the concept of a blossoming youth.
Maiko for Midsummer Knight's Dream, for a midsummer short love story.
Akinari for Falling Down, for the feeling that life is fading away and death is nearby.
Finally, Aigis and Yukari for Winter of Rebirth. To put an end to the love triangle and make Aigis a "living proof" that Makoto was there. Which also uses a plot point in her Social Link.
That's all, overall this movie is good, And for what I've heard, Winter of Rebirth is even better, and the best of the movie saga.

Is this the "next" Shingeki No Kyojin????!!!
Iron Knight seems to have heavy influences from Attack On Titan manga (or Shingeki no Kyojin). Here some similarities:
1.- There´s a virus that turns humans into "goblins", and there´s death and destruction in the first chapter because of a global pandemic of the goblin virus.
2.- The protagonist´s father is missing, and implied to have a strong importance in the series. Also, he was a cop.
3.- Teppei can turn into a goblin with fire powers, and he fights goblins and people like him who only use their power for killing people.
...
4.- Teppei swears to revenge and protect mankind.
And now with the review.
Story: 9
The first chapter appears to be your typical Shonen Jump school manga, but a few pages later BAM! Chaos, death and destruction unleashes. And you wonder what´s gonna happen next, and who is the enemy. Comparisons with Attack on Titan are unavoidable, but these are good comparisons, the story itself has originallity, and is intense, fresh, well narrated and you just feel the creeps. This manga is DEFINITELY Shonen Jump next big hit (which can give the Shonen genre a different way of telling stories)
Art: 8
The art is typical from Shonen, but what differenciates it from the other shonen series, is that some scenes are gruesome and really f*cked up. We´ll see intense battles, gross monsters, innocent people (even children) getting gruesome deaths, despair and hope. The manga violence almost pairs up with Attack On Titan violence, though, is a tiny less violent to consider it properly a Seinen manga.
Character: 9
How can I explain in words the awesomeness of Teppei personality? Yeah, he is young, he is your shonen hero, BUT unlike Luffy and Goku, Teppei got brains. He carefully think of his way of acting, always thinks why is the world going to hell, and the causes that provoked it. Yet, he also have strength, and the determination to protect mankind.
Enjoyment: 9
As you felt excitement, fear, despair and hope on Attack on Titan, Gantz, Bleach and other type of action manga, Iron Knight guarantees to give you this, and maybe more. It has a strong plot, strong characters, and profound messages you´ll have to discover as they are implied.
Overall: 9
From the first page, you are sure to stay with Teppei. The adrenaline will run through your veins and spine. Sometimes, when watching a battle or a tragic twist plot on Iron Knight that reminds you of Eren struggles to save mankind, you´ll be thankful Attack On Titan had inspired other great mangas.

Ok, so everyone was in high expectations for the anime adaption of this manga, and we only got 5 minutes per episode. But dont be fooled. While the anime fails to capture the intensity of the gruesome, violent and gory scenes, the manga is at best telling and showing you a story of child abuse, and maybe forbidden love. Dont expect more.
Story: 8
The story is about two siblings: Utsutsu and his sister Yume, who suffered from home violence when they were younger, at hands of their Father. It starts being a little cliche, with the typical and now trendy sibling/incest romance, "Onii chan" and
...
"Yume..." words are repeated with some kind of obsession. Anyway, little sister gets infected with the "Pupa" virus, she turns into a monster, dismembers people, big brother tries to comfort her, he gets killed, but he revives as an inmortal, now with the Pupa virus. And now they try to survive and stay together while their own father, soldiers and scientist want them to experiment (or kill them). Im in episode 9 of the manga, so far thats the story.
Art: 7
The artist Mogi Sayaka seems to be an amateur. BUT his drawings are kind of beautiful, almost looking shojo style. The gore scenes sometimes are unclear, and we have difficulties to distinguish dismemebered bodies, or at least a scene is "explained" by a spray of gore. Dont expect to find awesome art like Gantz or Claymore. Pupa´s art is amateurish like Attack on Titan, but has good plot, and is kind of unique.
Character: 8
Nothing to say, Utsutsu is the typical lolicon brother obsessed to protect his little sister, and Yume is... the typical imouto that always want to stay with her brother, and having feelings that may cross the border of love. Though, some interesting characters are Utsutsu´s father, being a totally cold, psychopat yet cool killer. And Maria, being a mysterious, beautiful woman.
Enjoyment: 9
I did REALLY enjoy this manga. C´mon!!! Is better than the generic Shounen/Seinen out there, while is not that original, is a well narrated story. Is at the level of Higurashi and Corpse Party, I dare to say, better than Another.
Overall: 8
This is an underrated manga. The anime does not speak well of it. Read the manga, form your conclusions, forget what the others say about the anime, the manga is good! And if the anime adaptation have been 12 episodes with 20 minutes each, it would surely become one of the best anime of 2014.
