OMG, this girl right here is basically me only with Shoujo anime! Any hardcore Otaku or Weeb will strongly relate to the main girl (Kae). I loved her from the first episode.

Kae is a girl consumed with a love of manga, anime, and visual novels where hot guys fall in love with each other. As a result, she likes to fantasize about the hot boys at school getting into lovey dovey situations. Also she is fat, so the hot boys don't pay attention to her, which she is perfectly fine with. But one day (slight spoiler, I ... guess??? not giving away anything major) she is at home watching her favorite anime when suddenly something tragic happens to her favorite anime boy! Now this anime boy was totally her waifu btw. She has all the collectible stuff and cardboard cut outs for this character. So naturally, she is devastated when calamity befalls upon him. She locks herself in her room and refuses to eat, sleep, or go to school for a whole week. Finally her mother forces her to get out of bed and to everyone's surprise, she has lost all the excess weight and looks soups Kawaii! Now all the hot boys at school notice her and try to woo her, but she much rather watch them fall in love with each other! Thus comedy ensues!

I highly recommend it! I think Kae will rise to become a mascot for all Otakus!

My Bride is a Mermaid in a word: Maaaassssaaaaaaa <3

Talk about one of the funniest animes on the planet. OMG fo' real. Stop what you're doing and watch this right now. I was all of the laughing and giggling. I've re-watched it twice already and I would re-watch it again in a heartbeat.

The characters and character relationships are very relatable. Poor Nagatsumi (the main dude) tries as hard as he can to do the best he can, but circumstances never seem to workout in his favor. Besides him there are many other lovable characters such as: the beautiful/loyal Sun (the mermaid bride), her over-protective dad ... (who's a yakuza boss), her mother (who clearly wears the pants in that house hold), Chimp (Nagatsumi's pervert friend), Masa (the handsome, cool wingman to Sun's dad, also Nagatsumi's man-crush), Lunar (the diva/pop star with a split personality), and many many more fun-loving characters. Honestly, there was not a single character who I disliked. They are all unique and charming!

Also I highly recommend the English dub! Both are funny, but I find the English version to be funnier because 1. The jokes are slightly different 2.The English aims more at an American humor style of line delivery 3. All of the English voice actors are brilliant! I mean who doesn't love a good Todd Haberkorn anime, c'mon now. Sgt. Frog anyone??

The World God Only Knows in a word: Euphoric

Where to begin with this one?? For starters, the Op is one of the best Op's I have ever seen. The song and the art are sensational. So well done. That being said the animation and sound throughout the whole thing is great.

I wouldn't give the story a 10/10, but the concept behind it certainly deserves 10/10. The idea that a boy who lives to woo the women of the 2D world is suddenly forced to win the hearts of the "inferior" 3D women is hysterical. The execution of this concept is, for the ... most part, good.

However, I would say the writers had a little trouble deciding on how much time to spend on each of the 3D girls he "saves". At first it seems like each girl is going to be extremely important later on, but they really aren't and I found myself wanting him to quickly just finish up with each new girl. I didn't want to take the time to get to know every single new character.

However, I must say that episode 12 of season 1 is one of the best things I have ever seen. God-Mode FTW!

If you love anime and/or visual novels you will enjoy this. just don't look for too deep of a story line.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama in a word: Creampuff

I've seen this anime 3 times. First time through I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Second time through I thought it was good, but it didn't seem as amazing when I watched it the first time. And finally my third time watching it, I was showing it to a friend and I realized why it had lost it's magic from the first time around.

My biggest issue with it: Not much story. (hence the word creampuff: sweet, but *Nacho Libre voice* no nutrients) Each episode kind of has it's own problem to be solved, but there is no true ... plot driving the story forward.

Next issue: The repetitive background music. I swear, every episode used the exact same music track. Any time something "big" happened (like she stood up for someone else or told someone off) there was an obnoxious background track and all I wanted was for it to stop.

I've read the manga, and I think if the anime were to make another season and fix these two issues it could drastically improve.

Why it's good: Even though I have a few issues with it, it's still a really good anime. The romance is fun. I enjoy how Takumi is very playful with and protective of Ayuzawa. He likes to tease her, but he is very good about judging when to just sit back and let her do her thing and when to step up an help her out. It's also a good anime to watch if you need a laugh. The animation and voice acting are both well done too.

I would be all for more seasons of this, but please change the music!

Itazura na Kiss in a word: Real

One very appealing quality about this anime is that all of it is possible. It could very well be a true story. Nothing is too greatly over exaggerated. And it is in it's own way a very sweet story.

I did enjoy it, but I only gave it an overall 8 for a couple reasons.

1. All of the conflict between the leads was due to their lack of communication. One or two problems because of that is no biggie. But dang was it frustrating and annoying knowing that everything could be solved instantly if one of them was just like ... "Hey what's up with you doing this?" "Oh because this and this and that other thing." "Oh that makes all the sense now. Thanks babe."

2. The main girl never grows up. This anime stretches through many years, but the lead girl still acts like a teenager even though she is around 30 years old, and the fact that she is constantly in pig-tails doesn't help either. I wish the creators would have done something to make her seem more mature because of the knowledge she has gained through having a relationship with the male lead.

Other than those two things, it was very enjoyable.

InuYasha The Final Act in a word: 10/10

Like I said in my review for Inu Yasha: The first part of Inu Yasha felt very 90's (animation, music, and voice acting), but all that drastically improves in the Final Act. It looks and sounds wonderful.

(No Spoilers, so chill)

This series wraps up the story and holds the big conclusion that we've all been waiting for. And lemme just say, it is executed beautifully. There is no way it could have ended better. I was biting my nails up to the final episode.

Fantastic simply fantastic.

This is definitely one of those animes that I will be wanting to ... re-watch up until my death bed, and even then I'm sure Jesus probably already has this whole series on Blue-ray.

Inu Yasha in a word: Captivating

I was nervous about starting it, due to the number of episodes. I didn't want it to end up like Naruto where I didn't like it until episode 81, and even then lacked the motivation to finish it. Luckily, this was not the case and I am in the process of re-watching it for the third time. It took me a few episodes (like maybe 7) to really get into it, but once it had me, it had me for good. When I wasn't watching it, I would be non-stop thinking about it. I finished Inu Yasha and ... Inu Yasha the Final Act in a matter of 3 weeks (with summer college classes on the side, which I think is a pretty darn good accomplishment since I also got A's in the classes #nosleep)

So about the show itself (no spoilers, so do not fear).

I know it was made in the 2000's, but it feels 90's (the animation, the music, and the voice acting), which I actually enjoy. (Final Act excluded from this)

The story is well developed, there's hardly any filler episodes and even when there is, it is very entertaining and one does not mind detouring away from the main story line for a bit (Get with it Naruto). I didn't ever feel like the story dragging because even though there was only one main villain, other villains, troublemakers, and problems were constantly coming up to keep up a nice, steady variety from episode to episode.

The characters are relateable , loveable, and original. Kagome, Inu Yasha, Moroku, Sango, and Shippo make an odd mix for a family, but where one is weak, the others are strong and they function well together. I love how they all hold a different past, but fate causes them to meet and and strive for one similar goal: stop Naraku. Before you know it, these characters will have a special place in your heart and you will find yourself laughing, crying, and rage-quitting along with them.

As a big black guy at an anime store once told me "Can't go wrong with Inu Yasha!"

Howl's Moving Castle in a word: Astounding

I have never seen an anime that glues people to their seats like this one does. I've even started playing it while people who were "not into anime" were in the room and they eventually get so wrapped up in the story and the characters that they can not walk away.It's great!

This is, by far, my favorite Studio Ghibli film of all time. I can watch it 3+ times in a row and never get tried of it. Not only is the story one of a kind, and the characters all enjoyable, but the art is phenomenal! ... The landscapes and the scenery are absolutely breath taking.

The music is also incredible. Just listening to the soundtrack makes my soul soar (my tree-hugger comment of the day, right thar).

Another likable quality about this film is that it is enjoyable, no matter what your age. The story is just as entertaining for adults as it is for kids.

Howl's Moving Castle is a 10/10, must see for everyone (whether you like anime or not).

Grave of the Fireflies in a word: Depressing.

Never heard of this anime before I got my Studio Ghibli DVD collection. It was not what I was expecting. It is just plain sad from beginning to end. I understand that it is trying to depict the reality and tragedy of the time, and for this reason it has a lot of historical value. Especially, if you are into learning about WWII you might get a lot out of it.

I, however, did not enjoy it. Yes, I cried. I cried a lot, but setting that aside I didn't like the grimy, hopeless feel throughout the whole ... movie. (I'm sure that's what the creators were going for, but it wasn't for me).

*SPOILER* -but still important to why I feel the way I do about it

From the very beginning, you know that the main characters aren't going to make it. This leaves no hope. You don't hope for the characters to survive or recover, because you know they won't. This leaves the audience to just sit back and endure all the unhappiness. This is the biggest reason why I did not like it.

Hiiro no Kakera (Seasons 1 & 2) in a word: Forgettable

I can't even tell you the characters names. I knew there was the one chick and a couple guys who had different color hair, and that's basically the gist of this anime. Also I guess they has powers or something to fight fairytale/not fairytale creature things that make the woods 2spooky4them. No romance, no excitement. I kept hoping for a reverse harem battle for love to happen between the guys. Never happened.

When I was watching this, my mind would wander. I would start thinking about tater tots or JFK (who done it) ... or how to solve world hunger and then I would remember "Oh snap, I forgot I waz watching somethin'." And then I would try to force my attention back onto it. I guess it didn't work since I barely remember anything about it. So basically, even when I tried to watch it, my brain decided that it had better things to do than watch it. And That would be my advice to you. Go watch something worth watching...not dis.
