I don’t normally write reviews for anything, but this show blew me away. I had already read the manga and knew this season would be good and even with these high expectations I was blown away.
Bones really pulled out their A game in terms of animation. They make full use of ONE’s art style and translated his dynamic paneling into animation really well. Mob Psycho 100 2 has some of the best animated action I’ve seen in a really long time. There are insane, dynamic psychic battles that’ll keep your eyes glued to the screen.
This season also happens to tackle some of the darker arcs

in MP100, which I personally really liked as this allowed for some good character development from not just Mob, but other side characters like Reigen.
Additionally, the music in the show is pretty sick. I seem to be in the minority in saying I liked this opening better than the first season’s opening, but regardless the music is pretty cool and adds on to the show.
The only thing that really bothered me was the pacing at times. I didn’t really notice it much in the beginning, but later on and especially in the last couple episodes I noticed the show would run over the more emotional scenes really quickly in favour of more action. This felt a little jarring to me. A lot of material was indeed covered in these 13 episodes, but I feel like I would be okay with less being covered if that meant the emotional bits were less rushed.
This isn’t something that majorly impacted my enjoyment; I just noticed it for sure.
Mob Psycho has now become my go-to recommendation for people looking to watch a new series.
