This anime........... I don't even know what to say other than it's so badly draining to watch. It tries to be so many things and do so many plot points that it fails to deliver at every angle.
Plainly boring written characters, no depth, no substance at all , the same goes for the story...... The only saving grace is the character design and art style, other than that it's just plain boring to watch.
It's just bad, like really bad
Storywise? Nothing new it's a bit of a mix with a lot of things jumbling together
Art? Nice, it's easy on the eye and matches the atmosphere of
...
the anime and it's the only good thing about this anime. The character design and art style is the 1 thing you will get at least from the anime
MC is the aloof know it all above it all type of character which some might find cool or relatable in some ways but boy is he badly written
If you want something to just stare at it's ok, but if you're looking for something with substance I wouldn't recommend it
Overall I'd say watching this anime feels like a chore to me, I get why it's popular but well...... Each their own

I'm going to say this is not like an official review but more like my honest opinion and I'll get to the point.
This feels like a very badly written fanfiction about high school.
Top school in Japan? Says who, if this is the "TOP" then it's bloody disappointing
Students act like wannabe gangsters, the plot doesn't progress anywhere. We don't even know what the point of this entire show is.
Characters got a good design but that's it, well visually at least. Personality-wise it's as generic as it gets. I mean I can see the appeal to younger audiences, but it definitely is not for me.
There are mysteries,
...
plot twists, drama yes but even so what was the point of them anyway. It feels as if it's a fanfic about school life with government funding and students may as well do wtf ever they wanted.
Spoilers: Tbh there were even multiple occasions of violence and attempted rape, I mean is this really the top school? The government has enough money to buy islands, luxurious cruise ships, and many other fancy things, but no security or discipline? LMAO wtf is this 14 year old fanfic or somethin.

It's pretty much overrated in anime after the first season, but it's still very good plot-wise.
What's good about this series is the content from LN
By overrating I mean the people who think they are supporting the series by trying to overhype other weebs and newcomers into the series and letting everyone expecting way too much from the series when the LN itself is a bit confusing
People seem to hype it up and expect too much from the anime studio to adapt every inch of the details and progressions like its easy while it's from an LN
After half way of Season 1, it seems the quality
...
dropped off significantly over the course of 3 seasons.
The series is not to blame but the butthurt fanbase and dem idiots who want to rush the productions out as soon as they can
If you're not into LN then yeah you prob feel that way and I'm not surprised that you will feel like the story is nothing special when all you know is stuff on screen animated.
Most people who really appreciate the series prefer to read the LN over anything else, why? Because the studio can't keep up with the details and the series itself. Not talking about speed but the whole concept and it's pretty confusing because things might or might not happen chronologically
Overall I recommend this series, because it's not one of those edge lord kirito bullshit.
Mainly I recommend people to watch anime first then go read the LN after every season they finishes, this way the experience will be better
BTW don't expect much good quality animation here when everyone seems to think rushing and pressuring the studio is a good idea.
:)

This is pretty much a show that disappoints the majority of the adult audience from the start to finish
My first thought on the show was it has potential, but after a few episodes or up to episode 7 I even shut it all off half way due to irritating MC
Feel like they want to make a story like Nisekoi mix with Uchiage Hanabi and koi wa ameagari no you ni. Very poor attempt.
Characters are well made except for the MC where no one will ever find him interesting or fit into the story. He is just like being there to fill the space for the
...
story to take place.
MC that can't think for himself and need everyone to tell him what to feel, to think, to do, to say, generally he's like an empty shell that just happens to be the MC in the story.
The show itself is using excuses for everything that happens, no one ever truly think about the consequences of their actions. Not trying to pursue their true goal, no character development, no plot progression after 3 episodes, no nothing.
Overall I only finish this because I expected the ending to betray my disappointment. Well, I was wrong because the ending is still like a half-baked potato where you think you can enjoy, but just can't.
3/10 is me being generous.

If you expect to see character development after seeing all the development from Season one then you're someone like a typical shounen fan where everything can transform instantly I guess, this is rom-com so don't expect super Saiyan transformation level or progression here
Since the characters were introduced and developed, and we get to see where they are at there shouldn't be much development only progression towards accepting their own true feelings.
The first season was for introducing the characters, but this season is mainly to see their interactions and how they handle their feelings.
This season focuses on mostly the characters' interaction with one another to see
...
what they actually feel. In the end, we get to know they kinda come to an understanding with their feelings which is nice to see.
If you're to watch for character development and analyze the anime itself please just give up because there's nothing here honestly. Story cant change upside down dramatically in 20 episodes, this is to be expected it's not a shounen focused but a rom-com.

Enjoyable, but there are too many plot holes of bullshitery if you actually look into it.
Bit of spoilers (Kinda)
My final rating is 3 while my rating for the most part, is pretty high is due to more than just what's allowed to be rated so hear me out.
I get that they try to make it a tragic story, but the antagonists' survivability is absolutely pure BS, and their luck seems to be too high.
In the beginning, people can see and tell the obvious differences in piloting skill between the characters and then no character development for the antagonists whatsoever ( Majority of them )
...
30 episodes later they suddenly have plot armour that just pops out of nowhere and became the victor.
What the actual f man, they seem to be throwing handicap and plot hole everywhere for the tragic ending's sake. It feels like they just want the audience to feel that anything can happen, BUT it doesn't make any sense when in the beginning we were shown how skillful and strong the protagonists were, then just say ah f it ill make the audience cry for the sake of that ill just throw everything I can pull out of my ass and make it happen.
They seem to just have one thing in mind, kill as many off as much as possible without putting much efforts into it for a surprise.
Yep I was surprised, and really disappointed after a few deaths it just doesn't surprise me anymore.
There ya have it. It's pretty enjoyable for most people but if you think about it after finishing the anime, Plot holes will probably throw you off.
