I feel like blue period is not an anime for everyone. At least for me as an artist I enjoyed it a lot, I even came to identify with some parts, such as how stressful it is compared to other artists even when you are just starting to draw. In order not to make this long, I will divide this mini analysis into 3 parts: Characters, plot and music and animation.
CHARACTERS:
Yatora (protagonist): I think that with Yatora, if you are not an artist, or someone who wants to dedicate yourself to art, you would not be able to empathize, or identify much with the
...
character. But if I'm sure of one thing, it's that Yatora's evolution, at least in the anime, is very marked. He always gave me the feeling that he is the type of character who says "if you want something, work for it."
Ryuuji: I feel that blue period is one of the few animes that knows how to perfectly adapt a trans character without controversy, and even makes us empathize with it. Even if Ryuuji did not have as much prominence as I wanted, she had, in my opinion, almost all of the scenes in the anime.
Of the other characters I only highlight Yotasuke and Kuwana, and Haruka because of his design, although not much is said about him.
Plot:
The plot, I feel like it's not a big deal, but it's still engaging, Blue Period has some very human characters that make you empathize with them more and more and make you want to see more of it. And like I said, the plot isn't a big deal, it's just watching Yatora become a great painter.
Music and animation: The music, although not memorable at all, is good, at least the opening is decent. The animation is neither good nor bad, it just improves a lot in important scenes, but overall I have no complaints.
Extra: sorry if it is incoherent in some parts, I translated it into English with Google xD
