Hey! I’m back with another review.
Today is my birthday!
Let’s get into it, ya?
First, I want to say how much I’ve enjoyed this season compared to the first. This season was darker, more mature and just overall entertaining.
The plot follows the original anime (not sure about the manga, I haven't read it yet) but it had a happier ending. (I won’t spoil it for you!)
Story: like I said, the story was just better than the first season. The story was way more serious, it kept you on the edge of your seat and by the end you were rooting for all of the
...
characters to win.
Characters: everyone seemed to mature and come out of their shell more. Ichigo stopped being such a big cry baby, Lettuce gained more confidence, Bu-Ling showed how responsible she was with her siblings, Mint showed her older brother that she wasn’t a child anymore and Zakuro became more friendly. The aliens had good character development as well; my heart really went out to them. I still believe Shirogane has a thing for Ichigo. We get a background story on Shirogane and Akasaka.
Music: the soundtrack was better too! The opening theme got on my nerves at first, but by episode 6 I was dancing along to it. The end theme is cute. For the last episode we hear “My sweetheart” from the original anime and I just loved that, it was so nostalgic. I’m definitely going back to add some songs to my playlist.
Artwork: the art looked amazing and it kept the original designs of the classic anime. I still don’t care too much for the super suits, but I wasn’t too bothered about them this season. I was obsessed with the story; it was SO good.
Overall: this season was great and I highly recommend it. A third season hasn’t been announced, and I’m not sure if there will be one. The story seemed to wrap up in the last episode. Unless the writers come up with a new enemy, in my opinion, I don’t see a third season coming out.
Thanks for reading my review! Please leave a comment and reaction to let me know what you think. My next review will be Trigun Stempede.
Until next time, take care!

Tokyo Mew Mew New Season One Review
Hey! It’s been too darn long since I’ve done a review, but I am back on my BS.
Tokyo Mew Mew is an anime based on the manga of the same name by Reiko Yoshida and illustrated by Mia Ikumi. Me, being a millennial, I grew up with the original anime and the infamous 4KidsTV dub. (Check out that review!) This reboot wasn’t as bad as I thought it was, but it does have its weaknesses.
The story does follow the typical magical girl format with normal teen girls discovering they have powers and attempting to balance crime fighting
...
and their normal lives. Ichigo is TOO obsessed with finding love, I wonder what her grades look like. Creators of this show and others like it should be careful because this could send the wrong message to young fans. (The target audience for this is 13 and up, but I can see younger girls watching this, much like I did back in 2004/2005.) Mint comes off as more of a leader than Ichigo because she was the first to activate her powers and she even found the Mew Aqua in the finale. What’s up with that?
The art is pretty good. It’s up to date with the trends of the decade, and it for the most part stays true to original designs of the characters. My biggest issue was with the super suit designs. Oh…my gawd. I hate them. I think they’re uncute, not flattering and it was redesigned to appease those who felt the original designs were too risque. I can understand wanting to redo Bu-Ling’s super suit because she’s like 12, but still. They weren’t good in my opinion.
The music was good, I don’t have too much to say about it. Opening and closing themes were cute and it sounds like the voice cast was a part of it (I haven’t confirmed this). For the season finale I LOVED that they brought back “My Sweet Heart” from the classic anime. It brought back memories for me.
Overall this was a good reboot and I am excited to start season two. I plan to catch season three when it airs so I can be on top of things.
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more reviews.

Hey, babies! Sorry for the late review, I’m busy with supervising at work and school and motherhood, but I’m back on the grind. I’ll be short and sweet yet detailed with this one because I have like three more reviews to write after this. Let’s get into it!
Story: Out of all the anime I’ve ever watched since I was child, this is by far one of the most unique plot lines ever. A broke God who was once a ruthless killer for the right prie, who is now granting wishes for 500 yen? Sounds lame, but Yato grows on you as the first season progresses.
...
Hiyori’s character was cute, but at first I felt like she was kind of unnecessary. However, my opinion of her changed once I saw the connection between her, Yato and Yukine. Mid to end of season one is what really drew me in, because I was beginning to feel like the plot was dry and uneventful, but I fell in love towards the end. Yukine’s change made me very happy and I thought it was really cute when Yato said “come here, buddy” and pulled him in for a hug.
Art: the artwork is amazing. I love how the characters are drawn, their details well thought out and fits their personalities. My favorite feature about the art style are the eyes. Yato’s eyes were beautiful. The scenes were the characters were in their Regalia forms and it showed their human bodies (like, it was white with, like, black shards...you know what I mean? You know what I mean!) was well drawn as well. The background and scenery was awesome, and the use of the Gods walking around on buildings and what not like the immortal beings they are was very creative.
Sound: I watched this in the English dub, and in my opinion it was decent. The acting wasn’t conry, and I literally laughed out loud when they told jokes. The soundtrack was ok, but I don’t listen to the theme song like I do with other shows I’ve viewed. Of course, I’ll have to be in the mood to listen to that type of rock. Regardless, they’re in my anime playlist on SoundCloud and YouTube.
Character: Each character left an impression on me, especially Yato. Honestly, he is probably my favorite!
Enjoyment: At first I wasn’t really into this show, I was about to drop it, but half way through the season I began to really like it. What drew me back in was the need to know Yato’s past and the budding relationship between him and Hiyori.
Overall: this is an adorable short series that I would recommend to anyone who likes comedy and fantasy. Season two’s review is on its way!

Hey, hey, hey! I’m back with another anime review. Before I start I wanted to mention that “Outlaw Star” was my tenth review! *happy dance.* Thanks for everyone who takes the time to read my reviews and gives them a thumbs up, you’re a real one. Ok, let’s get to it.
So, the first time I heard about Kill La Kill was back in 2015 when it was broadcast on Adult Swim. Now, during this time ya girl was pregnant with her one and only child, so I was about my naps honey! (HAHA!) Also, I was working and going to school, so my free time
...
was limited.
When I did finally watch it, it was in the Fall/Winter of 2016 and it was through Netflix or Hulu (I think it was Netflix…) and I LOVED IT. Watching it again now that I’ve switched over my major from Theatre Arts to Fashion Merchandising and Business Management, I appreciate it more for it’s reference of fibers and overall fashion.
Story: Although the story has its moments where it’s unoriginal with the high school setting and revenge plot, I truly applaud its uniqueness with the “life fibers” and use of goku uniforms. Regardless of how you feel about the plot, this was a well written anime and I appreciate both the dub and sub.
Art: I know a lot of people can’t stand the animation style, and at first, I wasn’t a fan of it either. However, watching this a second time, I enjoyed it. I feel the wacky animation balanced out the dark nature of the story (this show may be funny, but it definitely has its dark moments) and keeps it lighthearted at the right moments. The fight scenes were fun to watch and I loved each time Ryuko and Satsuki transformed into their goku uniforms. Character designs were beautiful, especially the men! I’ve never crushed so hard on animated dudes before…
Sound: Voice acting was decent in both the dub and sub, but I do prefer the English dub...I’m going to come out and say that the English dub was better. (I’m always up for a mature debate on my profile, what’s good???) Besides the voice acting, the soundtrack slaps. The two opening themes are bangers and the end themes rock. Out of all the tracks, “Don’t Lose Your Way” and “Gomen Ne Iko Ja Irarenai" are my favorites. The first end theme for some reason reminds me of the early 2000s when I was a little girl and I imagined how life would be if I lived in a city like Tokyo or something..it makes me feel good in a nostalgic way when I listen to it! Honestly, I’m not too crazy about the second end theme, it’s ok.
Characters: All of the characters leave you with an impression, and nowadays, that’s pretty rare. Ryuko is a badass chick who keeps her focus on her goal and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Satsuki is a calm and collected young woman whose resting bitch face kept me wondering what her true intentions were. Mako is a true friend who stood by her best friend’s side and gave some of the best advice in the entire show despite being an airhead. The student council members were cool too! I especially liked Gamagoori and Sanageyama, for obvious reasons...Mikisugi was so extra! But I loved it. Senketsu has a special place in my heart, and I’ll never get over the ending..what he did was so selfless and loyal of him. I believe it was a sad, but great way to end the story. While the other villains of the show were memorable, it was Ragyo that stood out the most to me. Her weird, inappropriate relationship with her daughter confused me and I questioned if the story really needed that. I loved her overall look, and she’s definitely one of my fave villans because it was so hard to beat her.
Enjoyment and Overall: This was a great show! Just like most first time viewers, I was begging for a second season, but you soon realize the story is finished. I HIGHLY recommend watching the OVA, that will give you better closure.
Thanks for choosing my review! Sorry for the length, I just wanted to express why I like this anime so much. Check out my profile for updates. See ya next time!

Hey everyone! I’m back with another boring review of a classic anime ahahahahaha…
“Outlaw Star” left me sssshhhhooketh! It gave me “Cowboy Bebop” vibes and was very entertaining. The 90’s artwork, the music and the characters left an everlasting impression on me...I’m definitely adding this to my rewatch list. (This also has a spin-off anime called “Angel Links.”)
Story: The story was well written! I will always be a fan of anime that have the premise of a crew cruising through space. Episodes were either stand alone or they tied into each other. Overall, I was entertained and became sad when the last episode came
...
up on my VRV.
(The ending was a happy one though!)
Art: The artwork wasn’t the best, however I loved it nonetheless. I have a thing for vintage anime, especially 90’s era because I was born in 1994 was heavily exposed to the anime that was popular around that time. At times the characters looked disproportionate and unattractive during fight sequences, but their fashion and hairstyles were really cool. However, the backgrounds and settings were beautifully drawn in a 90’s and futuristic mix.
Sound: I watched this in the English dub and I enjoyed the acting, I felt that each voice fit the character perfectly. The music is catchy with it’s upbeat, go-getter opening and is memorable with it’s two ballad endings. I have an affinity for the second closing, “Hiru no Tsuki” by Akino Arai. I play this song almost everyday on my SoundCloud account, MoonBabyDoll.
Character: Each character grasped my heart. Gene Starwind reminded me of Spike Spiegel so much. His story of him having fear or ships and how his father was killed made me feel sympathy for him. Melfina is a tragically adorable as she is on a quest to find out who and what her purpose is. Gene and Melfina’s outcome is one fans anticipate throughout the series. Jim is the cute little computer genius who is the son of the “Computer Wizard” and just wants to stick by Gene’s side because they are such good business partners and friends. Without him keeping track of spending, Gene would be destitute. Aisha is a personal favorite of mine because you don’t see that many Black and Brown women in vintage anime, and while many may think her design and plot is controversial, I think she looks attractive and find it awesome that she has a background and look different from the main cast. (The Catrl Catrl being banned from the tournament can be a dig at how POC are stereotyped and real world action is taken, BUT that’s another argument for another platform…)
“Twilight” Suzuka reminded me of Kikyo from “InuYasha” for some reason...I don’t know why! Her being an A-class ninja assassin who wields a Bokken is awesome. She had some of the best character development ever, she went from being a lone wolf to a member of the pack (haha lame metaphor). The McDougall brothers pulled at my heartstrings too, especially Henry (or Harry). Ron just wanted to protect his younger brother while Harry wanted to find someone who was like him. Although I don’t ship him or Melfina because that relationship is unhealthy AF, his feelings did make feel a bit of sympathy for him
Overall, this anime is awesome and I highly recommend it if you enjoy shows like “Cowboy Bebop” or “Space Dandy” or classic 90’s anime. I know VRV offers it and Hulu with their Live TV subscription. My next review will be on my rewatch of “Kill La Kill” and then I will update my profile about the next reviews to come and where to go to listen to my anime themes playlist. Please leave a thumbs up! Thanks, see you soon!

Hey all! It’s been WAY too long since my last review...school and work have been kicking my butt! However, I am making a strong effort to manage my time. Now, let’s get into it.
Golden Time tells the story of Banri Tada, a young man who was just accepted into law school. Back in high school, he suffered a head injury that left him with retrograde amnesia (memory loss). The other main character is a rich girl named Koko Kaga, who has an obsession with their mutual friend Mitsuo (but she’s not a yandere). The story chronicles their ups and downs with Banri’s memory loss,
...
love interest, college and navigating life as a young adult.
Story: The plot was great, a unique one where the main character doesn’t remember his past while coming to terms with his new life and those in it. It was nice to see some sort of build up to the initial relationship between the main characters, nothing felt rushed.
Art: OH. MY. GAWD. Koko’s couture was SO well drawn, from her dresses right down to her Chanel bags. This anime is from the 2010s, so it does have the new styles we’re so used to with the broken smile lines and exaggerated eyes, but the artwork didn’t look sloppy.
Sound: I watched the Japanese dub with my Hulu subscription...I’ve been watching anime since I was a small child in the 90s, and over time I’ve developed an ear for good or bad voice acting. The voice acting here was good, I enjoyed it. The openings and endings for both halves of the show are beautiful and catchy. Unfortunately I don’t have the full length versions on my SoundCloud, “Moon Baby Doll’ or my YouTube playlist “Ultimate Anime Theme Mix,” but I am still on the hunt for them.
Characters: Each character was written well! My favorites were Banri and Koko. I was sad every time Banri had a flashback or an episode where his amnesia got the best of him, you genuinely felt sorry for the guy. There is a “Nana” reference-like, my fave manga/anime of ALL TIME- where we have Nana.O as Banri’s neighbor. I got a good kick out of that, let me tell you.
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed this show! Watching each episode drew me in more and more, and I was left walking on air after the ending. The ending wasn’t too mushy gushy, it felt realistic to me...kind of reminded me of the ending in Torador; I got the same feeling.
Overall: I definitely recommend this anime, it’s only 24 episodes and it has light novels, manga and a visual novel to go with it. There’s also a movie, but I haven’t watched it yet.

Hey babies! So sorry for the delay...my life these past few months have been a complete mess, BUT I am in the process of getting back on my feet, financially, emotionally and spiritually.
Sanrio Danshi or Sanrio Boys was very dear to me because I’ve a HUGE hello kitty fan. I remember the first time I fell in love with Hello Kitty...It was the year 2000 and I was in the Spring semester of my kindergarten year and I was on the bus to go home. I was wearing long, dark brown crochet braids my mom did herself and they were blowing in
...
my face aggravating me. Suddenly, there was a nice older kid about seven or eight years old who leaned over my seat and offered me a scrunchy...but it wasn’t an ordinary scrunchy, it was a blue scrunchy with a cute white cat dressed as a ballerina attached to it that I would later that day learn as Hello Kitty. The same day, my mom took my brother and I to McDonald’s and I was delighted to get a Hello Kitty toy!
Sanrio Boys is a cute show about high school boys who learn to embrace Sanrio characters despite what society says about it. I felt like this show would be a great example of the “Boy Joy” movement, because it’s 2018 and we should all let go of gender stereotypes. I wasn’t completely let down with this show, because it was a pleasure to watch.
Story: I liked the plot, it was a cute one...but I do wish the writing focused more on the social aspect of boys liking “cutsey” things a little bit more, however, I’m guessing that the topic is still a controversial one and producers didn’t want to get involved with, but I still believe their platform would have benefited the movement. There were comedic as well as heartfelt moments, this show had a good balance.
Art: The artwork was great, easy on the eyes. The artists involved in this project did an amazing job with the characters and the scenery. I felt that the subtle visual of each boys beloved Sanrio mascot in their clothing and personal belongings was a cool, non-obnoxious way to show which boy liked what character. Each boy was drawn beautifully, and the Sanrio stores and products looked awesome!
Sound: I wasn’t too crazy about the opening theme, but it didn’t suck. The ending theme was adorable, I enjoyed listening to it. The voice acting was good, and I’m hoping that the US English dub is just as good.
Enjoyment: I’ll be perfectly honest, this show was nothing like i expected it to be. As I previously mentioned, I was hoping that this show would touch more on the topics of “boy joy” and “toxic masculinity” and be a bit more fun, but it didn’t. However, after each episode, I was patiently waiting for the next to be released. Watching this show didn’t make me fiend for it, but I did enjoy all twelve episodes and I felt that the ending was super cute.
Overall: This show is a solid 8. It shows boys (sort of ) standing up against the naysayers who think it’s “gross” for high school boys to like cutesy things. Each boy decided to live their lives the way they want while supporting each other along the way. Also, this show kind of brought Hello Kitty and Co. back into society’s eye in a world full of Pusheen and Grumpy
Cat (I hate those two). I recommend this show to anyone who likes Sanrio or cute boys! Thanks for reading my review! Keep an eye out on my next one: BTOOOM!.

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for waiting on my review, I know it’s been a while, but I’m back and ready for a new year of reviews! This review covers all 26 episodes.
Started: 2/7/18
Completed: 2/11/18
“Gantz” is an anime that came out back in 2004 while I was only 10 years old. During that time, I was only familiar with anime on 4KidsTV or other Saturday morning cartoon programs, before getting into the shows on cable when I reached middle school that following year.. With that being said, it’s no surprise why I’ve never seen this anime much sooner, I was WAY too young to handle
...
or understand its mature content.
Now that I’m older, I can say with confidence that this show is entertaining, and a solid example of early to mid 2000s anime.
Story: The story is unique and it gets right into the plot in the first episode. The first episode is also where we see just how gritty and gorey it is. With that being said, I don’t believe this show relies on gore to tell it’s story, it has other elements. (Romance, crime, family drama, sex, etc.)
Art: I liked the art style! It reminds me of the early 2000s (one of my favorite eras, if you couldn’t tell, because it was a big part of my childhood) and we get to see some CGI use. At times, the CGI got annoying and when the characters were moving, it just looked weird. For example in Episode one, two of the main characters will be running in the subway, and it just looked weird to me…
Sound: I did not watch the Japanese dub, instead I went for English because it was overed on VRV and I was lazy and tired from work and school, so I gave in. The voice acting wasn’t bad, I felt like all of the characters were portrayed by people who fit them really well. The music was a pleasure! The opening theme “Super Shooter” by Rip Slyme was lit and it kept me pumped each and every episode, I NEVER got tired of it. The ending theme “Last Kiss” by Bonnie Pink was moving and it fit right in with how fast paced and aggressive this show was.
Character: I liked all of the characters, each had a lasting impression on me after they passed away...Kurono Kei was my favorite because I could relate to him the most. Kishimoto was a favorite of mine because she was sweet (ish), Kato was a noble, stand up guy and deserved the cat (hahaha) and I have a soft spot for Sei.
Enjoyment: This show had me hooked! I finished it in like five days, it was SO good and I’m adding it to my rewatch queue and recommending to everyone I know.
Overall: I give this show a 8. It’s a good anime with memorable characters and story line and theme music. It’s definitely one I recommend to my older anime watchers, if you’re under 17, you should wait until your older to understand the content in this piece.
Thanks so much for reading! Sorry for the wait, I’m busy with work, school and being a mommy. My next review will be on Sanrio Danshi Check my page for updates and feel free to reach out and follow my Facebook page “Moon Baby Doll” and join my anime group “Grown and Otaku.” See ya later!

Hey, everyone! It’s the last day of 2017 and I wanted to go ahead and finally do my “Kamisama Kiss” review. Thanks for being patient and also for following my reviews this year..there will be more to come in 2018. Let’s get to it!
Story: I enjoyed the storytelling! Each episode had a different focus while still sticking to the main plot. This was a very fun show to watch.
Art: The artwork was beautiful, very clean and easy on the eyes. I loved the choice of colors and the use of cherry blossoms...what a vision.
Sound: I love Dubs from Funimation because
...
the cast does an AH-MAZING job with the characters. I give it a 10/10. The music was enchanting and each opening and ending theme was catchy and they’re in my playlist (previously mentioned in my reviews and will be listed in my profile).
Character: The relationships were nice, but the ambiguity of the relationship status of the two man characters bothers me and that’s why I plan to read the manga.
Enjoyment: I am definitely going to rewatch this show in a few months, this is just SUCH a cute anime.
Overall: I highly recommend this as a cute short show for those who love comedy, romance and English dubs done by Funimation.
Thank you so much for your patience, your support and your overall awesomeness. Please continue to rock with me in the upcoming year. Happy New Year and I’ll see you next time.

First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has been following my reviews, you’re the awesomest! This semester is a challenged and I’m also balancing motherhood, running Facebook groups, AND I’ll be working a second job starting next week, so I’m doing the best I can with making good on my promises. Enough about my self-inflicted stress, let’s get into the review!
Story: From the first episode, I was hooked! How do you kill the titular character in the first episode??? HOW SWAY?! The episodes after that were kind of lagging but it still held my interest. The dark
...
tournament is most likely the favorite arc amongst Yu Yu Hakusho fans, but it was my least favorite because it was SO long. After that saga ended, the characters still remained in touch with each other and faced many obstacles. The last saga was great and the ending made me smile; I am very pleased with the ending. From what I’ve heard there are differences from the anime and the manga, and there may have been an arch left out? Don’t quote me on this.
Character: I appreciated how well developed each character was (some more than others). The relationships seemed genuine and had a good amount of time to grow, especially in the Dark Tournament Arc. I’m happy everyone continued to be friends!
Art: The artwork was very reminiscent of late 80s and early 90s anime. The artists made great use of shading in scenes, like with the fight between Yusuke and the doctor in the hallway...THAT was amazing. I loved the artwork for the all of the openings and endings, but my favorites are the first opening and ending.
Sound: The sound in this show was incredible; the sound effects and music are very cool. It was a pleasure listening to all of it, especially since the 90s revival is hot right now. I loved the entire OST! The music played during flashbacks, dialogue being exchanged, during fights, or anything else was beautiful. I appreciated the opening theme remaining the same because it was a perfect fit for the show. As previously stated, I love all of the theme songs, but “Homework ga Owaranai” (Homework Never Ends) is by far the best, in my opinion…
The English soundtrack for the dub was terrible, they should literally apologize for it.
Entertainment: Overall I enjoyed this show, I give it a solid 9 because it has certainly earned it. Right now it is not on my list to rewatch, because I need to update my queue, it has grown tremendously over the past year, but I recommend it to anyone, as it is a quintessential 90s anime. Also, I recommend watching Super Eyepatch Wolf’s hilarious YouTube video “Why You Should Watch Yu Yu Hakusho.”
Thanks fo reading my review! My next review is “Kamisama Kiss” so look out for that. Also, my facebook group “Grown and Otaku” has grown and we are always accepting new members 21 years and older. Have a great day, SMOOCHES!
