Perspectives on Anime in the 21st Century
To think, we exist in a time in history without any significant wars or significant ecological or external threats that would limit our species from being able to create hundreds of thousands of works of art everyday. In studios in air-conditioned buildings these Japanese business people, savvy artists and beautiful writers pour the very essences of their souls and the souls of their ancestors into their media. They tell captivating stories not only with text in the form of subtitles that you read, but in visuals, auditory, etc. These pieces have very rich things to bring to the table and are reflective of life and art in all facets. As life imitates art, art imitates life. I find myself learning many eastern thoughts, many eastern ways of thinking, ways of expressing emotion. Unlike the cartoons we grew up watching these usually always have deeper underlying themes and things they are expressing and talking about in a grander sense. While it is true not all anime is art, to say anime is not art is just not true. I'll continue to watch, and I'll continue to pursue my pleasures until they lead me to where the other side of this great Abyss lies in this universe. Know this, anime is a like a mirror. You can learn a lot about yourself and about humanity when you watch it. Just turn off the part of your brain that want's to be pointlessly subjective or objective to any annoying degree. All of us humans just want to sound important as the art we consume, I don't want that to be the case for me. But I do want you to know about it.
Let me know if you want Anime recommendations or want to talk about Anime in general. I still have a lot to watch.
Funny enough this crazy new Season of 2023 anime I'm getting into is what made me want to do a revamped intro. I'm picking up 15 or 16 different anime a time and flipping through all of them through different weeks. There's so much that is in production, a lot of it direct sequel work!
To think how much has yet to be adapted, let alone created! God bless Japan and the work of all those that support and run these respective industries and tell these stories, without your work, humanity would be all the less educated and equally entertained in the process. <3 <3 <3
