Watching this season made me realize that if you ONLY kind of enjoyed the first season and second season part 1 (like you gave them 4-6 ratings), then you're likely not going to enjoy this season (at least not the first couple episodes). I am one of those people that only watched it for the sake of watching and although I wasn't turned off completely, I also found both seasons painfully average. What I'm saying if you aren't already a hardcore fan before you got here, you're probably not going to enjoy this very much (I'll only say this for the 4 episodes I saw).
Episodes
...
1 to 4 have been nothing but meetings and political talk, intersected by comedy bits and unnecessary chit chat. It's like I'm trying to focus on the politics of it all and there's just a bunch of noise everywhere. Someone has to make a comedy comment every other minute or something, and yes, wow complaining about the comedy in an anime that has comedy as a genre, shoot me for saying any of this, but my problem is the comedy is so contrived at this point. Is it really necessary to add a useless joke in the middle of political talk? Personally it was distracting and didn't add anything to the main point, which is to have the political talks and plan what the heck they need to do.
I could go on but I'll just be ranting. I'll cut it short by saying perhaps tone down and focus on what needs to be focused. Most characters are still VERY flat and barely developed. Rimuru himself has upgraded but he's still a bland character overall, personality wise. And finally, it shouldn't take 4 episodes to talk about a plan as simple as the one they came up with. There's only 12 episodes this season, a little more than 30% was spent on TALKING in ONE setting. They really pulled out a calculus book to solve 2+2. Think about using time wisely.

I kind of went into this one without much expectation, literally, because I didn't even read the description. I just saw the tags and the cover and decided to start reading.
Review will contain spoiler
Story
So far we have a development. We’re going somewhere decent. As you’ve read the description, our MC Shiki joins the “villains” to fight the “heroes” of the story. In actuality, Onis are victimized people like the Uchihas. Those who go berserk are not in control of their powers therefore they kill. Once they kill, they are hunted down by the Momotaro who view themselves as heroes but they are a vile
...
bunch. So far the author is doing a good job with the distinction between good and bad. But that’s just all there is. A group that call themselves good and a group that are just trying to survive, not particularly that they’re “evil”. It’s rather simple and straightforward, which can be a good thing, but if you’re talking about complexity, then there’s none here. Something I'd appreciate is if the author delves into the human side of the perspective. We know Onis are considered "evil" and Momotaros are considered "good" but how does a human who is powerless to both groups look at them?
Something I want to touch on that is a vital part of the story are the fight scenes and pacing. I personally think fight scenes are alright, but when you pair that with bad pacing, it gets pretty bad. If you showed me just a panel of a mid fight scene I’d say it looks good, but if I read from beginning to end, then I can tell the fight scene actually ain’t that good. You don’t want fight scenes to last 10 chapters of back and forth but you also don’t want them to last a couple panels, you know? There’s no thrill. Characters make a couple good moves and someone goes down. Just like that.
I think the powers for the Oni are pretty neat and cool and each character have their own manifestations that are unique to their specific backgrounds but I do wonder what the limitations are. For example the teacher Mudano has the umbrella that rains blood armies that shoot arrows. But then he can also control it to turn into a dragon in the chapters later. So as long as it "rains" blood, can it be anything? Or does it have to be associated with his past? I don't know. With the other Oni characters too, it seems their manifestation can change too, so this aspect of their power is a little unstable.
Art
I think the art is good. Although I do think the transitions between panels could use a little work. Sometimes fight moves make no sense to me as I can’t understand what just happened to cause a wound or for a character to be pushed back, etc. We see the same issues in non-fight scenes as well where characters make a particular movement but the impact seems different from the movement.
Character
On their own, I think the characters are alright. They each have their own unique personalities and backgrounds. Shiki reminds me a little of Bakugo with his way of speaking. Personality wise, Shiki has more humanity but he’s just severely rebellious right now. I’m not gonna talk about the other characters as they aren’t very important right now. They do get their own little moment to shine but they’re just background noise at this point.
Moving on to an issue I found poking annoyingly at me. Something I find not very well established is Shiki’s relationships with others. So far he hasn’t developed much of a friendship with any of his other classmates, aside from Mask face kid, but we do have some outside of that. The only budding friendship I can understand is Shiki and Mask face kid. From the start to the present, they have had a cat and mouse relationship and we can see them develop from then to now, how closer they feel to actual friends. The other friendships I find rather contrived. Shiki meets a little girl who loses her family during the battle and he gets friendly with her, understanding her loss as a Oni who lost family, and he cries for her so hard during the final scene to encourage her to smile. The other friendship is when Shiki, as a disguised person named Natsu on a mission trip with the others to discover their desired Units in the Corp, meets a Momotaro and they immediately become friends within two or so chapters. They have a rather deep seated talk about “would you kill your friend if you find out they are an enemy” and I just have to pause myself because these two who have just met consider themselves friends…..not just friends, but friends who believe each other on a profound level. In these two cases, with Mei and the Momotaro, the friendship had no build up and they just happened. I don’t think that is very well written at all. With Mei, I know they have the connection of losing family, but do they have to go on crying in the middle of a fight? For the Momotaro friend, I would’ve bought the “my long lost pal from elementary school is actually a Momotaro now” more than this. At least then there’s a prior establishment to why they are friends and how that will affect them going forward. There’s more impact that way.
Enjoyment/Overall
We’re only at the beginning and I did enjoy what I read. I can’t say this is a bad story based on what could be 1/10 of the actual story. So far it’s been generic but so many stories are generic and can still be enjoyable. All I can say is that pacing and character developments could use a lot of work. However the author wishes to develop the story, I hope they do it better. Because the story itself seems fine to me, just the execution needs work.

I thought that I would hold out longer than this but I genuinely cannot watch anymore of this.
*Slight spoilers about their powers*
Story
It's very much dull. I don't have a problem with premise itself but I do have a problem with its execution and delivery. Like a good joke, you need good execution and delivery. Nowhere in these episodes did I see good execution or delivery. For example, the first time we find out the MC is actually OP is when he defeats a bunch of zombies off screen. Then later we see he actually knows of his abilities but he's hiding it. But then
...
actually, he doesn't have full control yet so he's actually not even that strong. So which is it? You feed us this impression that he's OP as hell, then tell us he's just a whiny brat? I already took a bite of that delicious steak you gave me, you can't take it back and expect me to sit still.
The comedy in this one is just *chef's kiss* magnificent. Way to ruin the flow and mood of the scene, by adding this cringe comedy right in the middle of a serious scene. This is another issue that completely ruined the anime. They can't decide if they want to be serious or not and it doesn't help that the character's themselves are inherently not funny to begin with. Take for example the glasses guy. His character has been shown to be serious, has a calm voice, and seems rational. But throw in a scene of him squawking like an idiot, you ruin his character.
Art/animation
I thought the art was pretty solid. I'm not mad at it, but the animation can be a little stiff at times. Fighting scenes were alright as well but there's definitely weird continuity issues. The knife girl is one hell of a jumper and sometimes she looks like she's teleporting. Yes I know she's fast, but I still would have liked to see how she got to places. And sometimes it looks like she's flying. As far as I know, she jumps high, but she doesn't fly.
Sound
Nothing that comes in mind that I would consider bad. I barely listened to Op or Ed so I can't comment on those.
Character
Ah, my favorite part about reviews, is when I can talk about why I dislike characters.
MC is a drag. Literally so annoying. You've had all these questions your life about who you are, your existence has been gnawing at ya, and here, these "outsiders" who are the same as you appear with open arms, and you don't take it? What? There's also inconsistencies with him. Sometimes he asks these deep compelling questions about his powers, but at other times, he just wants to be normal person? I don't know. Pick one. Not to mention his one stand out quality as a MC. Being virgin. It's shoved in your face since episode 1 how much of a virgin he is. It's not a personality trait China, stop it. I don't care how much of a virgin this kid is, stop making it the reason for his existence. That's just bad writing. If your main character can be summed up as "he's a virgin" then you've got a problem on your hands.
Knife girl. She can be described in two words. Ninja cardboard. As I already mentioned, she is a monkey. She is jumping everywhere, slick. But she is bland. No taste. No personality in sight.
Telekinesis glasses guy. I would describe him as telekinesis glasses guy, because that's who he is. He seems rational, calm, and the one who takes jobs seriously. I don't like or dislike him. He just exists.
There's one last guy, an older man with gray hair. He just appeared in the episode before I dropped so I don't have much to say about him. First impression, I kind of like him. He doesn't look like he takes shit from people and has a clear personal goal in mind why he's interested in the MC.
Enjoyment
Nah. I saw that there was 3 seasons already so I thought this would hold me out for a while before I start searching for more anime to watch but nah, not like this.

This review contains spoilers
Not that finding spoilers will ruin anything tbh, since the events that follow Saiki are pretty random and have no connection to each other. Even if you got spoiled about one episode, you probably wouldn't care about it in the next. Things don't hold meaning in this anime so getting spoiled on something is just that.
Anyway, continuing. What intrigued me into watching this was the clip of Saiki trying to avoid that one yellow short-haired girl who had a huge crush on him and the clip of Saiki buying the coffee pudding on YouTube. I thought they were pretty funny.
...
I didn't know this anime had a TV version that split its episodes into short 4 minute bites. I've seen 6 episodes out of 24 which comes around to 35 episodes out of 120.
I'll say it straight I do think this anime is funny. BUT only when watched in moderation. The dry humor and exaggerated situations is something right up my alley, which is why I liked Sakamoto Desu ga? so much. Taking the bland life and adding weird spice, that's funny. But I shouldn't have watched this consecutively episode after episode, because that initial feeling of surprise by different events is taken away and each episode ends up looking like the same packed bundle of dry humor and exaggerated situations.
One thing I noticed immediately is the volume of their voices. If you think screaming very loud while delivering lines is funny, then this is the anime for you. But personally, I find it off-putting and as if they're trying to compensate the lack of actual humor with loud obnoxious screaming. They also speak very fast, sometimes with two dialogues going on at once, making it nearly impossible to understand unless you pause every few seconds to catch what they're saying. This doesn't necessarily affect the enjoyment but it does ruin the flow.
I think the story is alright. It doesn't have a set plot and follows random events in Saiki's life, made clear by the title of the anime. The characters are alright as well, each with their own set of personality and life dilemma. I don't know if their characters get explored later in the anime, I doubt it considering the patterns, but with the 35 episodes I've seen, they are just characters that exist. I don't really care about them. I had no issues with the art or sound quality. I think it fits this style of story. They're short and to the point, so I don't expect some top quality art and sound design.
Overall, this anime was pretty funny but it can easily lose its shine as well. I can't find myself continuing to watch because I think they have exhausted their little quirks and engagement with me.

Story
I didn't really read the synopsis so all I know is it's about vampires. I usually do this so when I start a new anime, I'm a blank canvas ready to be painted with the story. I expected something to happen by the time we got to ep 5 but everything is just so slow paced and boring (and annoying, explained below). Based on what I watched, I didn't like any of it. I know they're setting things up for something but whatever that something is, I don't even want to know if it's gonna be the same as the
...
6 episodes I just watched. Nothing about the 6 episodes was intriguing.
Art
My god the character art is so weird, I didn't like it. Most of the background characters look alright, they have decent humanly body proportions and humanly faces but the main characters look like aliens with enlarged bug eyes and skinny bodies. Does it help with the creep factor? No, because the show itself isn't even scary. It just makes watching the anime annoying. I wish they'd just kept the character design consistent with the background characters. It would have been more watchable. Plus some characters literally don't even have iris's or "normal" eyes. Their eyes are just black. If in this anime universe normal eyes are the sclera, iris, and pupil, then these weirdos only have a gigantic iris and that should have set off alarms. But no. No one takes notice. Don't forget about the hair design for the girls. Yikes. Talk about overdramatic. Looking like thick scraggly pubic hair.
Sound
The background music is distinct and I kind of like it, but it's played so loud sometimes and played at odd moments. Didn't fit the energy of the scene. I listened to the OP once and not again.
Character
Everyone is unlikable. Literally. The main guy Natsuno, Dr., Priest, the village. They're all very annoying, maybe the Priest being the least because he just exists. I have a personal grudge against the Dr. because he's the one guy with the most exposure to all the victims before their death and he's literally the least knowledgeable about the situation. How the hell does that work? At one point after 20+ victims have died, he finally figures to use blood transfusion to try and save the victim, who he since way earlier diagnosed with anemia and/or similar. Literally what was this guy thinking or doing as a doctor this whole time to finally figure blood transfusion would work. That's the issue with this. Have a Dr. character with the same brain capability as a dumb*ss. That's how you frustrate people. I actually suspect the guy is purposely killing the victims at this point with how he's been dealing with them.
Enjoyment
No. Non-existent. I just end up being angry how dumb everyone is.

Here we go. Just gonna focus on story and character.
Story
Episode 1 is good. But that's all the praise I have.
Story is explosive and random. There isn't a specific direction that is taking place. I was feeling uneasy around ep 3 or 4 but when ep 5 finally rolled around, I was thoroughly confused where this anime was taking me. I get that things have to happen, but I don't see the point of them happening. Why they matter. Lloyd's inability to understand his strength is the MAIN focus of this anime and it honestly got tiresome after a couple episodes because I got over
...
Lloyd's basic response pretty quickly.
The "comedy" also got old real quick. The butt of the joke is that Lloyd is dense, ha ha ha, I laughed 3 episodes ago, now I'm waiting for the next joke.
Character
OP MC's aren't uncommon but ya have to have a personality to make it work. Lloyd is bland, point blank. I taste nothing from him. He's just there, existing. Even as the main character, I wasn't that interested in him, honestly. I don't really care for his harem either. The harem is pointless and uninteresting. Most of the harem are annoying, each with distinctive personality disorders. If you have a thing for harems, sure, but all these girls drooling over this idiot. Beats me.
Overall, I have decided to drop this at episode 6. I've honestly lost all the interest I had from episode 1 and don't really feel like sitting through what feels like a pointless anime.

This review contains spoilers.
Honestly what am I supposed to say about this anime? The one thing that sticks out to me is boredom.
Story was at most decent. If you take away Iwanaga’s bs-ing, the story itself would be cut down by half. They dragged the second story by a mile and honestly, was it necessary? No, absolutely not. It’s almost like there’s no story at all and it’s just characters talking bs half the time. For the most part, there’s nothing to consume but dialogues, oh the dialogues. They talk back and forth saying the same thing in different rewording to state a
...
simple answer. I can't tell you how many times they run their mouths in circles just to say something I already figured out 3 episodes ago. They sure talk a lot to say absolutely nothing.
There doesn’t have to be a lot of action scenes, If we wanna talk about mind games, then take Death Note. That sort of mind game is intense. But this? This is child’s play in comparison. They’re just trying to fool a bunch of idiots and it’s supposed to come off as some epic achievement.
Kuro and Iwanaga truly are incompatible. The time skips also did not help me develop an understanding of their relationship, so when Iwanaga talked about getting deflowered, it really came out of nowhere. They do not interact like lovers, which makes their small comments here and there about their sexual relationship, out of place. If they were going to be an actual couple, I'd like some more evidence.
Enjoyment wise, I'll give this a 3/10. Not much you can enjoy if half the time the dialogues aren't attention grabbing.

This review contains spoilers. For Mulan 2020 too.
When I saw that the second season was released, I decided to watch s1. Before watching, I knew this was about some dude who got isekaied into another world as a slime. Honestly, I went into this anime with very low expectations.
Story: 4/10
I didn’t think the story was very intriguing. This is not me saying it was boring or bad though, I did finish watching this after all, but just thought that given the setting of fantasy, the sequence of things that occurred in this anime weren’t that fascinating. From start to finish, there weren’t a
...
lot of moments that would bring about a sense of thrill. The plot was very straightforward and the common theme is: easygoing. For someone looking for a thrill, this probably won’t hit that itch for you.
The fight sequence is decent, but because you already know that Slime is op, that sense of suspense/thrill gets canceled out pretty quickly. When I say fight sequence, I mainly mean from the opposing person trying to attack Slime, because honestly Slime doesn’t really “fight”, the dude just kind of stands there dodging or doing some inner monologue about how he doesn’t wanna fight.
Art: 6/10
I thought the overall art was okay. Character design is decent. But it was unfortunate that a lot of the characters end up looking human. When most of the monsters evolve, they end up having more human-like anatomy. The setting is another world full of different beings, but they thought it would be better to make characters look human, rather than designing some epic looking creature? This is such a missed opportunity.
Sound: 4/10
Sound design for fire blasts, sword swings, movements, etc, sound very digital. I’ve noticed that these newer anime tend to have these types of sound design. It's like the sound doesn't exist within the environment naturally and was added post production. It takes me out of anime sometimes because the sounds sound fake. I know, wow, what am I even saying, this is anime, everything is fake. But here me out. At least don’t make it sound fake.
Background music doesn’t fit certain scenes sometimes. Not sure how to describe the background music but especially during fight scenes, this upbeat music comes on, and I think it’s supposed to hype watchers up during fight scenes, but I just thought it’s a mismatch because fight scenes are dull so having this upbeat music just makes it look weird.
Character: 5/10
Characters are decent. Side/support characters, for the most part, have likable personalities. But I do find them reminding me of npc characters though. Most of the time they don’t do much except bow down to Slime. They’re one-dimensional and existing only so Slime looks more dimensional(?). They gather like flies so of course it will be hard to get them to have more dimension. But you see, that’s the issue. If side characters aren’t dimensional, then at least the main character should be, right?
Slime, our beloved protagonist. He’s probably one of the most boring main characters. Here’s why I think that. He’s everything and nothing at the same time. He has leadership skills, he’s likable and kind, and overall, he’s very overpowered and can protect his people. But that’s what makes him nothing. Because of all those characteristics, Slime is easygoing. Because he has everything, nothing around him is urgent. He has nothing that makes him disturbed, nothing that makes him feel distressed. And even when he expresses those feelings, it’s superficial. Without this core element to a main character, there’s nothing else to develop as a main character. He doesn’t go from point A to point B, he’s just already at point B and it’s everyone else that’s catching up.
Most of the time Slime is hesitant to fight or show his real power. This is basically Mulan 2020. Protag is strong but they do not show their real power because that’s supposed to be equivalent to character development or something when they do show their full power. It just doesn’t work that way, I’m sorry to say. I don’t know how he’s going to develop in season 2, but it better be good.
Enjoyment: 6/10
Overall, this was a decent watch. As mentioned earlier, it’s not like this was boring or bad, it does have decent material, but that’s it. All the negatives I mentioned in this review are the things that stood out to me, my standard, and they weren’t so bad that it ruined the anime.
Did this meet my low expectations? Yes. This was nothing special, but decent enough for me to finish. Hopefully s2 is better though.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
Uhhh what?
If you have a brain and use it often to question the logistics and physics behind anime stories, then you’ll probably say “uhhh what?” a lot as you watch this anime. Questions float around you as you start to question the game and its rules.
This is a mystery anime so sure, let’s say this will all be explained in the end, in some way or another, but it sure doesn’t make any sense now.
1. The game can manipulate people’s memories/thoughts.
2. The game gives players unique abilities.
3. The game gives players money that can be converted
...
to real money.
4. The game teleports dead players to somewhere else.
5. The game has players chained by life or death.
If this is somehow some advanced technology that is able to do all of this, I don’t see how it’s possible to stay so secret. Does this technology manipulate molecules and the elements as well? Because some characters in the story can do some crazy shit that is literally impossible even with technology. Creation from nothing, for one. Manipulation of water, is another.
What I’m getting at is, there is a line and the author is blurring it, thinking it’s okay. The game world | the real world. Technology alone does not explain the phenomenon that is this anime.
The surface level story sounds interesting, but once you start to look deeper, shit don’t add up. There are obvious plot holes that need some fillin.
I don’t care for the characters, they’re barely developed. The only okay thing about this anime might be the potential for awesome action scenes.
So I watched episode 6. We are barely into this mess and the author already wants to introduce us to a (potential) romance? Excuse me? I am OFFENDED. The least of our concerns right now is a love story my guy. This is ridiculous. Even if this isn't going to be the focal point going onward, it's still annoying having this sub-story going on while we literally have NO IDEA what even is Darwin's game. Trying to fit these 2 things into a linear story line is really pushing the audience engagement limit. I'm cool with romance, just not when nothing in the story is concrete yet.

In comparison to the anime, the manga's problem with flow is more evident. Things seem more rushed, fights end more quickly, and there's less exhilaration. There seems to be more comedic relief scenes as well. The tension isn't really there. One thing I do find poking at me annoyingly is the repetitive "lessons" or "empathy" for the monsters, as if Tanjirou is some God that freed them. There has to be a monster that is a monster because they are genuinely bad, right? I'm waiting for that guy to show up.
Also, Tanjirou seems to be grasping at "new" techniques more and more. I get it
...
that someone who is weak always has room to grow but the problem with him grasping at "new" techniques is that he presents them like they were inside in all along and he just needed to awaken to grasp them. I don't dig these kinds of things. You either had an idea of it but couldn't use it, or you learn a completely new one. This idea that these "new" techniques were dormant and a flashback to the time he saw/learned it, to explain how he able to utilize the power now, is poor writing.
Overall, still a fair enjoyment.
