I can't believe the rating for this anime at 7! The only reason I'm not giving the series a 10 is because I feel that the finale was really lacking, enough for me to dock the overall score.
Wthout revealing anything, all I can say about the story is that it is original, captivating, and at times downright tear-jerking. My only beef is, like I said, that the finale did not provide the right kind of closure that I needed as a viewer. I give the story a 9, at GREAT
I really like the drawing and art style in general throughout the
...
entire series. A lot of the characters have similar coloring, whch is sort of confusng at times because of how many main characters there are- but I think that the drawing was supposed to be very realistic so naturally many of the characters, being Japanese, had dark hair. I give art a 9 at GREAT
The sound is overall pretty great. No lies, I was not a fan of the opening theme song. Of course by episode five I was getting it stuck in my head. There are also two ending songs, the first of which I find extrmely corny lyric wise and the second is so-so. The music played within the show itself is fine, I love love love the violin and all the heavy vibrato during the really emotional parts. I give sound a 9 at GREAT
Characters: Great. One of my criteria for me to not drop a series is that the characters HAVE to be well developed. Considering that there are so many characters,it's especially impressive how realistic they are. I love the story arcs for each eisode that allow you to really get to know them. It's really great. Characters: 10 at OUTSTANDING
I thoroughly enjoyed the psycological aspects of the series, and the undertone of mecha and action is refreshing but not boring. Enjoyment 10 at OUSTANDING
Overall: 9, GREAT, this is one of my favorite series and I was ale to actually finish it in like two weeks whereas I usually drop by the fouth episode. I love Bokurano and highly reccomend it to those who have been stufaced with shitty harem and magic girl themes constantly in every single anime you come across. -.-

Psychic Academy... My oh my. This is the second anime I tried to watch, and even then it was only because it was the only other series I could find on Youtube other than Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch.
Even if you're desperate, please refrain from watching this series. Not that it's a waste of time; each episode being hardly *10 MINUTES* in length. Was there ever even a chance for a good story?? The saving grace here is the pyschic-aura theme that lies beneath the aweful groping and semi-nude scenes (that occur CONSTANTLY!!!) Can you say FANSERVICE??
Story: 3 Poor
Art. I
...
always kind of liked the older style of anime people- I like the 90's hair and the big boobs and the giant glittery eyes without becoming to alien-esque. In fact, I quite enjoy the art. That said, it's still rather generic, and there are no ugly people! Pisses me off, frankly.
I think the art is about 'Fair' 6.
Sound is just whatever in this series. The opening theme is OK, I suppose. Nothing emotional or interesting.
Sound: Decent 4
This series has NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. The main characters all have potential, but by about the 15th episode when I dropped the whole damn series I had realized that the "shy" main character is a perv. The 'sweet' childhood sweetheart is annoying at her BEST moments. And the mysterious pink-haired crush is yet another pawn to be 'accidently' groped. *sigh.* I was just so excited to see something happening with the strained relationship with the main character's brother, but dag nabbit all, it was BARELY touched upon!! The main conflict of the story was based not upon relationships between characrers, not on the plot or the theme, but on tits. All the guy wanted was tits.
Character: 2 Dreadful
How on Earth could I enjoy this anime with all the shortcomings? I honestly can't answer that. I would like to give credit though because I feel like this series never really had a chance when it was turned into a total sleaze fest during the very first minute of the TITLE SEQUENCE! The manga is probably really OK. Plus I never saw the last few episodes.
Ejoyment: Mediocre 5
While the concept has potential to be entertaining and I rather like the art style... Goodness me, it's a borderline pathetic series. I REALLY hope it can be redone in the future, because the aura concept is so interesting and I really do love the appearance of the characters.
Overall, I give it a 5 Mediocre

First of all, I havent watched this series since I was eleven. I don't know if I have even seen all of the episodes of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch because in those days I was slummin' it with youtube, and their's just so many damn episodes!
I know I should rewatch it before reviewing; However, Im sort of afraid that I wont like it now that I'm not an eleven year old girl. To put my opinion out there really simply without being biased by nostalgia, I think Mermaid Melody is SORT OF good. It's REALLY good if you're really into
...
the "magical girl" thing, *because the plotline is rather typical for series in this genre.*
My favorite aspect of this anime, by far, is the art. *I am in love with the cutesy-bright girly color scheme.* I like that the main character in human form looks sort of like an elementary school Britney Spears, and as a mermaid she of course looks like an adolescant Sailor Moon because damnit all magical girls have to look exactly the same when they transform apparently. Put simply, its cute... and I like that the whole thing is just so CUTE and just CUTE and CUTECUTECUTE.
So overall, while this series may not be for everyone, it's definitley super kyoooot and if you want a moronic magical girl storyline with super ultra adorable artwork, this is the one for you. Even if you drop the series, you will have a mysterious urge to change your screensaver to a picture of Lucia and her little friends in full get-up- *It's THAT cute*.

I am dropping this anime for the time being, so my review is based onthe first three absolutely aweful 12-minute episodes.
Don't get me wrong, if you're thinking about watching this, I'm not trying to desuade you from doing so. However, it really just wasn't my cup of tea and I'm rather bored of the whole thing. I think I'll just comment on the three chief aspects of this very cliche anime; the art, music, and plot.
I'm not a fan of the art itself, but the colors are rather vibrant and there aren't a lot of short-cuts in drawing like in some other anime
...
Ive seen. (drawing chibis every time you arent zoomed in on a character's face, for example). However, it seems like all the charcters look faintly similar as far as coloring- blue hair, red hair, or blonde hair. The xception is the man character, whose eyes are a hideous shade of eerie acid yellow.
Being an anime based on a musical boarding school, I wouldn't expect anything but outstanding as far as the sound goes. The voicing here is a pretty solid OK but the singing is beautiful and the lyrics are that marvelously corny love song stuff aaaaall the time.
As for the plot: I didn't go into this expecting much. I was basically in it for the whole harem thing, which Im pretty into. However, the characters are pretty typical and the plot doesn't have anything special at all.
Overall, based on my very limited knowledge of the anime, I give it a solidly OKAY rating.
