Story: 9
The plot is straightforward. It tells you the journey of Yatora Yaguchi in the pursuit of his passion, which is art. He joins the art club in his school and going to cram school in order to upgrade his skill regarding art. He aims to get into arts college.
The journey, however, wont be easy. It is brimming with excitement, sorrow, desperation, joy, and discovering what art truly means for him. What makes the story is so good is that it incorporates the views that we should do art that makes us happy but it also tell you that you need to improve as well.
...
A mixture of idealism VS realism.
I should warn you that this manga has some brutal realism to it. No sugar coating here. If you expect some fast paced manga and you like the MC to skip their training and get straight into action, then I'm sorry, this may not suit you. Do give it a try, though. It has moderate pace IMO.
You don't have to worry. You come to read comic about a man who is pursuing art, and you also get knowledge regarding it. There are lots of explanation from colours, canvas/medium, materials to be used in art, arts college entry exams, and many more. Now, im no artist myself, but i love every bits of knowledge the author give to the readers.
Art: 7
The art itself is not remarkable. It is not bad, but it can still improve a lot i think. After all, I'm only 20 chapters in. The character design is good. The author gives diff clothing, hairstyle, eyes, and there's this char who has two moles under his eyes. No one is really the same. Some of them are ugly-looking, while others range between moderate to quite pretty. The author is quite bold. The background sometimes disappear and i don't really dig it.
The great thing is, whenever the char is doing drawing, or painting, the art that they make was done by other artists (not the author). This is nice, cause the author know his/her limits and they want the best art to get into their comic. At least that's what i think. This comic is black and white, but the art that the chars make still look awesome nonetheless.
Character: 8
The characters has depth. Early on, we mostly see the struggle of Yatora alone. It was lacking in the development of other chars. Believe me, it gets better and we'll see the development of the others as well.
I really like cause they are so human. They have their strengths and weaknesses. Take Yatora for example. He is studious and hard-working, but he is afraid to take his time to breathe and chill a bit. He used to believe that chasing after art is just pointless and irresponsible, but he now know that it's okay to pursue your dream. In art, Yatora is not good with mixing colours. What makes his improvement quite fast is the fact that he's a hard-worker. He is, after all, an average Joe.
Enjoyment: 8
Do I enjoy reading this? OF COURSE I AM! This comic, despite has long chapters (about 41~48 pages) but it almost never managed to make me bored. The struggle to improve, the efforts to get accepted to arts college, and the impact of our loved ones on our views on art, they make me stay on the edge of my seat.
Overall: 8
I recommend this comic to everyone, especially artists. Don't forget to watch the anime when it comes out!

Before we begin, let me tell you that i have never played the game. With that in mind, let's dive in (pun intended).
Story: 5
I'm afraid that there isn't much to the story. I mean, most of the time, the main characters are trying to cook new kind of cuisine, which isn't odd at all, considering they are gourmet guild, after all. They do this by taking quest from locals. Sometimes they find monsters along the way, but the monsters aren't interesting and usually kind of weak enough so they can easily beat it.
The story uses "monster of the week" type of formula for each episode
...
(most of the time). It takes the route of semi slice of life with some development along the way, but it seems that the development is quite shallow that only the last two episodes have a great impact on the story as a whole. I'm actually kinda stumped because in a way, this story is the kind of story with slow progression and filled with bunch of adorable and light-hearted moments, but the story also want to be something bigger which is evident by some backgrounds to our characters and a cliffhanger in the episode finale. But i decided to give this story a 5.
Art: 8
The background is very beautiful and it feels like you're living in fantasy world where everybody has happy lives. After all, how can you not like world which is filled with lots of trees, plants, medieval looking houses, nice palace, friendly people, and most importantly, DELICIOUS-LOOKING FOOD!
Now for the characters. Almost all females are beautiful, whether they are loli, ara ara onee-san, tsundere, and somewhat psychotic villains. The males look okay. The problem is, the art has the very typical syndrome where all females look beautiful, but their face is all the same. If you tear their hair, clothes, etc, you would get indistinguishable faces. Just like usual, the males have more variation in terms of face, body size, and skin colour. I hope this kind of syndrome would be dropped by astist because honestly, it's kind of annoying to see the same beautiful girl almost everytime.
Sound: 6
I don't have much to say about the sound. The background music is quite good. The opening is catchy and i like it, while the ending is an okay for me.
Character: 6
The protagonist is kinda hard to tell. If you look at first episodes, or rather the very first one, it seems that Yuuki is the protagonist. But later on, Pecorine takes the spot. Well, Yuuki is kinda dumb and a silent person, so Pecorine takes the wheel quite easily. It's nice, actually. Rather than focusing to only one protagonist, this story HAS TWO.
Yuuki is unique because you don't have many fantasy protagonist who is a silent and seems absent-minded. But that probably happens because he lost his memory and then he needs to recover in order to be his true self. Other than that, he's kinda cliche. He's a teenager boy, has the look of Kirito, scrawny, actually a badass (according to megane red haired girl explanation).
Pecorine is your usual happy-go-lucky type. She REALLY LIKES to hug people and often have cheerful smile. She also has big appetite which is the result of wearing her suit. Her suit gives her a number of benefits, but it makes the user to be constantly hungry. She is a princess, actually (you can tell it easily if you pay attention). She also has a nice jug (IYKWIM) which is conveniently exposed a bit. She's not only beautiful, she's also super strong. I think she's the strongest one in her party. SPOILER: the reason as to why she is always cling to her friends is because she was forgotten by her parents and the people in the kingdom and then her role as a princess was replaced by a girl (i guess she will be the main villain if there would be season 2).
Karyl is your typical tsundere. As a tsundere, of course she acts like she hates your guts, but actually care about you. She's a nekogirl, so you can expect her behavior. She is constantly conflicted with her task from her evil master to monitor pecorine and yuuki as she develops personal feelings for her friends. She gets the most character development than the other MCs.
Kokkoro is your sweet little elf girl. She seems to be the youngest in her party. She is very obedient with her father's mission that she needs to care for the dumb Yuuki and support him in anyway she can. She also has a lot of faith in Yuuki in particular. She also act the most mature, despite being the youngest of them all. And that's it. She is a bland character that gets little spotlight and doesn't really matter if anyone replace her.
Aaand some other background characters. There are 2 guys who only serve their purpose as comical characters. There's also a bunch of cute and gorgeous girls they help along the way who you will forget in a relative short amount of time, mainly because there are many of them and they are only interesting in looks.
Enjoyment: 7
I enjoy the gorgeous girls, especially the ones with big breast and exposed clothings. The beautiful girls are the main drive that can suck people who haven't played the game to watch this. The set is also very beautiful and makes you enjoy every bit of it. And we can't forget about THE DAMN FOOD! Delicious!
Overall: 6
The story drags the score down.

No one has given this manga a review, so i'll try to review it myself.
Story: 7
The premise is like this: our heroine is a timid and socially awkward girl. She is very slow when it comes to thinking. Her grandma hates her (she live alone with her btw). She wants to be more social and want to have a sharper mind, because she needs to study harder than other students in order to keep her grades good (remember, she's a slow thinker). Then, she make pact with the devil so that she can gain more time by stopping it. However, this power comes with a
...
cost. The more she use this power, the more lustful she becomes. In order to relieve her lust, she masturbates and also using her childhood friend.
The story gets more intense as she gradually use her power more and more and she needs to calm her sexual urges that keep on rising by exploiting her childhood friend. The story is really short, so i won't explain too much of it. There's plot twist at the end which is kind of anticipated for me.
Art: 6
The heroine hairline is weird. It seems that she has balding on one spot. The childhood friend has generic face. Her rival seems quite different from other characters. The background is not really interesting
Character: 6
The heroine gets the most development. She goes from mild and socially awkward individual into more confident and snobby. Her childhood friend doesn't really change that much. He keeps on being himself, which is almost always concerned with the heroine. The other characters do not gain much development, probably because there's only little time and the story itself doesn't really require many characters.
Enjoyment: 4
This is pretty enjoyable at times and it is quite light, so you can dash through all the 12 chapters, whether you enjoy it or not.
Overall: 6
I gave this series a 6 out of 10. It should had been a little bit longer, though.

I dont watch isekai animes usually. I think this may be the first time i do. Anyway, let's get to it!
The story started with our protagonist, Naofumi Iwatani, who is an otaku, got summoned to the isekai. Apparently, naofumi was not the only one who got summoned to this world, but also 3 other young individuals. They were summoned to defend this country by fighting against the enemy who comes in waves. Every wave will bring several number of enemies. As the wave progresses, the enemies will get tougher and harder to beat. Things started out good for the 4 cardinal heroes IIRC. Unfortunately, Naofumi
...
was betrayed by the girl by the name of Myne. He was falsely accused with rape charges. That event made him a bitter person who resent the kingdom.
Story: 7
The story is kinda unusual within isekai genre. While some other isekai started as lighthearted, this show took quite dark turn as the MC had to deal with false rape accusations, and getting hate from almost everyone in the kingdom and the people around there. This show took time to show the training of the MC. The MC had to deal with the ever increasing difficulty of the waves, but it also showed us his quest to clean up his name. The plot thickens when the MC managed to figure out the conspiracy that had taken place around the kingdom and need to fight the big bad of this season. This show also tried to give us some insights regarding the origin of the waves and the other side of the story, but it felt kinda rushed as they only had 4 episodes remaining.
Art: 9
The art was beautiful. the characters are drawn rather realistically without having over-the-top eyes size and whacky hair. The face of the characters were also quite distinct from one and another. Several characters had the face of young adult, while others looked very young. The places were very beautiful and rich. The monsters were also drawn nicely.
Sound: 8
I liked the background music. It gave me medieval european vibes. It suited with the theme of this RPG-ish story. For the opening and ending ones, it was quite generic.
Character: 7
Naofumi had good development. He went from a rather cheerful person to bitter one after the accusation that befell him. He opened up his heart bit by bit after he met Raphtalia and developed friendship with a streak of master-and-servant type of relationship. Raphtalia also had good development, especially when she got her own back story and had to deal with the demons of her past. Filo, one of the MC however, didn't have much in her beside constantly being cute. Melty was latest member that joined their party. She was a tsundere princess and didn't have much courage at first, but then she started to be more brave after joining the party and went through quite hardship. The other cardinal heroes however didn't have much development, but fortunately they started to gain trust from Naofumi and vice-versa. They also learned how to work together. Myne and The King might seemed overlooked, but i'm sure that the creators will explore deeper as to why both of them have so much hatred inside.
Enjoyment: 8
I got hooked instantly after the dark turn of the 1st episode. The other story when Naofumi trained and do quests for people around him can get little bit boring sometimes, but i liked his smugness and pragmatic approach when doing the quests. When the characters fought against the big bad were the best moments in this anime. However, the remaining episodes after that seemed kind of a stretch. I guess the creators needed to do that in order to keep us hooked for the sequel.
Overall: 8
This was a very good anime who will divert your expectations of the isekai genre, and possibly keeping the torch up for other isekai stories out there.

Hmm... let me get this straight. Fairy tail has quite good premise. The fantasy world where almost everyone can use magic, mages guild that consists of whacky, reckless, and have bonds just like family. It might be quite cliche, but almost everyone inside the fairy tail guild have kinda broad personalities and different physical characteristics. The story starts off rather common, which is good VS evil type situation. The main characters are almost good-to-the-core type. This is not a problem if the author can maintain a good flow of storyline alongside character developments. Now, this is where real problem started to emerge.
At first several chapters
...
of this series, it was kinda interesting to see how the world looks like, character interactions, the fight against the evil mages and guilds. The MC (main characters) started out by taking easier quest, then they fought against weaker force of evil, and then they took more powerful evil forces. The story has started to get stale when the author kept on using the same formula (fairy tail guild took on the evil forces, they got beaten up, rise up, and punched out the evil). At first, i became quite bored with the repeated use of this formula, but not enough to drive me out of this series.
The problem did not lie in the story flow alone, the character development was also the issue i had. The characters (mostly the good guys) are your typical friendship-is-power i-dont-need-training-to-defeat-my enemies. They literally ALMOST never train, yet they still owned the evil forces. Oh, and the character had almost no development, except for their power. The art was good, but it did not really grow throughout the story. The female looks all the same, and the male too, with the exception of some buff, obese, and out-of-the-world characters. It was clear that the author did not have the skill to make distinct looks without relying on the hairstyle, hair color, and outfit.
MINOR SPOILER FROM THIS SECTION!
I kept on waiting for the author to use different plot progression, but it seemed that i was wrong. The author were not really creative, so he had to pushing the same story, only with different enemies. The only time where i got entertained after lots and lots of boring arcs was when they go to edolas and meet their alternate selves. The 7-year time skip was quite refreshing and also the tournament that soon followed up. Unfortunately, when the tournament arc was over, the story became boring again. At that point, i convinced myself that i needed to drop this series, and so i was.
So, to conclude my journey of reading this linear manga, i gave a total score of 3/10
