1. I absolutely loath any depictions of animal abuse. And this... this was a new low. EXCUSE ME SIR! WHO ABUSED YOU AND MADE YOU THINK "Oh lets put a cat in a microwave and have my artist draw it." Honestly, this is the first story I ever read that actually showed the difficulty between a romance between a ghost and a human (an exorcist at that). The mini comic at the end, "Sleepless Nights" had probably one of the best saddening portrayals of the difficulty in a relationship between ghosts and humans as they aren't technically able to cuddle with eachother. The author did add some humour to the story with the quote "OH NO, HOW DO WE HAVE S**!", but when broken down to the little details, it's heartwarming and heartbreaking. It was horrendous. I wanted to throw up at the end of chapter 2. THe first chapter said our main leads were both adults but for the first like 8 pages that the beast is introduced he looks roughly 10. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS TO ANYONE! This story had a near perfect portrayal of what abuse can spiral into. Especially with the fact she was forced to live like a "robot" even after her parents both killed each other. The story spent a good quality of its time slowly explaining U's situation, and helping the reader to understand exactly what the concept of "abuse" ends up looking like.
I've been working on a psyche degree for a year now, and I think I can safely assume her behaviors are definitely a warning sign of abuse, especially when U kidnapped our main lead, holding him at knife point. Most children would not ... |
