Welcome to the NHK is one of those "slice of life" anime. It contains a very depressing yet comedic theme to it. Only reason I say its similar to Angel Beats is because you can get something about life from both Anime. Welcome to the NHK is a great series that has fantastic character development and a well developed plot. Like a said previously it has a lot of dark comedy to it. If you're looking for a anime that keeps you guessing and pays off at the end, Welcome to the NHK won't let you down. This anime is about a Hikkikomori(someone cut off from society), Sato believes everything that happens is a conspiracy. Throughout the anime he is constantly looking for ways to resolve this conflict and always seems to mess it up. He has no job, no goal, no life really. That's why he seems to be going crazy at some points, all in all this anime is great and teaches you about what life is in its own way depending on what you uniquely take from it.
