Similar settings (humans fighting übermench), both have great character cast and are generally well-produced sci-fi series with action, drama and political intrigues. Main difference is that Gundam has mecha.

...then you might like Eve no Jikan add

Same director, very similar feel. Mizu no Kotoba feels like an early version of Eve no Jikan. Both have short episodes, the setting is very similar, and they both mention Isaac Asimov's three rules for robots.
