This is one of those anime which left me breathless after watching it. The story at first might seem a little dragging as it was till the 3rd episode i think where the main plot was revlealed...
Storywise, it might be comparable to other anime, so it's not really an original concept. but you'll enjoy the story nonetheless...
the artwork is beautiful. the characters are well made. Personally I like the artwork and the character designs. Though if you're familiar with type-moon shows, you can see similarities with their other series. I mean in looks as well as personalities, but at the same time they can also
...
stand on their own so it's not really a bad thing. The animation is superb as well. The action is well made. I really enjoy the fights in this series. There is also some comedy scenes to lighten the mood but the seriousness and drama of the series kinda takes the comedy away. But it does make us see a lighter side in the characters.
As for the sound, I like the dub (Japanese) I really like Saber's voice. it really matches with her cold yet compassionate attitude. the OP and ED are addicting for me. The background music really matches the medieval theme of the series. Despite the setting being in the moder time, the characters come from legends and history, usually during the medieval times.
Characters, as I said have close resemblance to other of type-moon's works or even from others series for that matter. But they stand on their own as well. And there is a good character development in the show as well.
The series all in all is good. it has it's downsides in story and other aspects but it's one good show that you must not miss...

The second installment of the Black Lagoon Series! If you've watched the first season and liked it, I assume you'd want more right?
Well in this second installment you'll see the crew of Black Lagoon in even more misadventures.
There's not much to expect except MORE GUNFIGHTS and MORE Revy and Rock antics! XD
The great thing about the second season is that it show's the backgrounds of the characters like Eda, Revy and Balalaika's past although it's vague. IT also shows the different sides of the characters like Revy's soft side, Balalaika's value of her comrades as well as her war freak side, Eda in
...
action!
The focus here is more on Rock and Revy. Dutch and Benny now seem like supporting characters here.
All in all, a good second season. Watch it if you're looking for more Black Lagoon goodness! I guarantee though it may not be great storywise, but it's one hell or a ride! XD

Story:
Kyohei was looking for a job, and he found one as a cook for a family made up of Jo, Meg, Amy and Sei. Little did he know that this so-called "family" is actually a gruop of mercenaries and he gets taken along for the ride.
Believe me it ain't as interesting as it sounds BUT it ain't bad. I mean it's a good thing to have a main plot, but the series has more stand alone or filler episodes than the main story. Which is kind of a let down.
Art:
Studio Gonzo is known for their unique art style and character designs. The
...
characters are eye candy but there are some flaws. For one thing, the setting is in a futuristic time zone, but the characters are pretty much traditional looking especially Meg who sports a cowgirl outfit. Pretty much all for fan service (you'll see what I mean if you look at the characters). The mech designs are great, Jo's mech Jango is awesome! Animations are ok...not much to be said. There's also the problem of inconsistesy as the characters body proportions change during the series.
Sound:
Sound ain't bad. A fast catchy opening song and a pop ending song. nice combo for me. the background music goes well with the anime's theme. Especially the cowboy music, which I have to admit I like even though I ain't into that kind of music. The voice acting is great (I'm talking about the Japanese dub). and the sound effects are ok.
Characters:
The characters are somewhat stereotypical. 'Nuff said, there's is little character development and only Jo's background was taken into account as well as her meeting with Meg, and also the groups beginnings. And you might think that Kyohei has a main role but he doesn't except for being the groups cook. Sucks doesn't it. And what's with Meg? is she only there to get kidnapped? oh brother.
But Jo is ok...she's the character I liked most in the series, and probably the character you'll like as well...
Overall:
The series pretty much has its ups and downs. More downs and ups. But if it's action and fan service you're looking for then this might be a good anime for you.
Don't expect much of a plot but it's a great anime in it's own right. As an action anime, I say this one is a must have.

Story:
Two samurai Jin and Mugen were sent to prison and where saved by a restaurant waitress Fuu on the condition that they'll help her look for the "Samurai who Smeills like Sunflowers" and so begins their great (or not so great XD) adventure. In my opinion, the series is just a buch of stand alone episodes about the trio getting into all sorts of mishaps. But it's not that bad. in fact, it's great! XD
one thing that's bugging me about the series is that it's like a history show gone wrong as there are events that could NOT have happened!
Art:
If you've seen
...
Cowboy Bebop, then you'll porbably be familiar with the art work. The characters looks skinny or lean. There's also a few characters who might look a bit alike with Cowboy Bebop charas. Mugen for one looks like Spike from Bebop but with a rowdy attitude. The animation is great, the characters have a fluid movement, especially when they fight.
Sound:
The series STRONGEST POINT for me. Hip-hop tunes on a samurai anime, now there's something you don't see everyday. a mix of new and old...well it doesn't really go well with the samurai theme BUT it matches the characters wacky antics as well as the fights. Heck even the Opening Theme is a Rap song...a good one at that! XD
Character:
Well, the characters are pretty much unique. Mugen is a samurai who breakdances as he fights. no, his fighting style IS break dancing. Not Copoera, break dancing with sword slashes. now how cool is that. Jin specializes in the traditional samurai arts and Fuu is not much of a fighter but comes from a samurai family.
Personality-wise, Mugen is loud, short-tempered, and dresses way different from a usual Japanese of that era. His style is hip-hop.
Jin, is quiet, wears glasses, and is pretty much your everyday samurai ala Kenshin Himura.
Fuu is a former waitress who was born from a samurai clan.
THese are the first impression you'll get from them, but as the series progresses you'll get to see different sides of the characters.
Overall:
A not so typical samurai anime that's sure to head you hyped up and your head babging to the hip-hop beat.

When I first hears the title I thought it was some fantasy or horror show like "The creature from black lagoon." or something like that...then when I actually saw the series, I was in for a big surprise coz the series was way different from what I pictured.
so here's the Drill:
The series follows the mis-adventures of Revy, Dutch, Benny, and Rock, the merry (seriously....joking) crew of Black Lagoon, a transport team that delivers anything from guns to people, anything!
Basically that's the story...
Art:
There are only a number of anime that have outstanding art...and This is one of them. The perfect balance between anime look
...
and realism. The background look so real! the characters are very well made.Heck Revy herself is a babe! XD The real masterpiece of the series is the way the transportations and WEAPONS (especially the weapons/guns!) were drawn. If you look at the guns of the characters closely, they are detailed right to the smallest part. And they looks like they're real life counterpart. How you see the real thing is how the gun was drawn. Animation is superb as well and very real. When the characters fire a gun, you'll see the bullets bounce on the ground. And they reload after a number of shots....and probably the best thing I like about this anime is the characters facial expressions. Take Revy for example, when she's curious you could really see how curious she is same is when she's angry and serious.
Sound:
Same with the art. The sound is top notch as well. The voice acting is awesome...the characters voice fit them very well. Oh i'm talking about the Japanese dub, I haven't heard the english dub yet. The Opening song is good. I was actually shocked, I didn't expect the Opening song to be an English song. You really can't tell coz of the singers accent...hehe...the Ending song is slow and mellow but it's good. It gives a calming feeling after all the gunfire, action and excitement...
Character:
Despite the story not being that great, the characters here more than make up for it. The thing that makes thins series great is the character development. You can see as you continue with the series, how the characters change. How each one became stronger with each episode.
Overall:
An awesome anime for those who love girls, guns, and lots of action.
It's a great show, the only downside about this is that it's very short, only twelve episodes but there's a second season! XD

Story:
A girl falls in love with a popular guy through which the guy falls in love with her as well and then they started going out. Then things start to take a turn for the worse as the girl begins to question the guy's past which shakes their relationship. A story of love, heartaches, sercrets, dreams, etc. This is a show which couples can relate..or even those who still couldn't find love...you'll know the hardships of being in a relationship as well as the things that make it so wonderful. The series also has a bit of slapstick comedy to lighten up the mood.
...
Quite a nice touch in my opinion.
Art:
Well, I couldn't say much about the art..it's simple. The characters don't look that cool or awesome as other animes, but they are characters which will be remembered. The bakcgrounds are simple, almost like they were just watercolored.
But despite the simplicity of the art, it's realistic. The characters clothing is a big example. They change clothes every episode or even during an episode. and the designs for the clothes are nice too.
Sound:
Since this is a romance series, expect that there'll be a lot of drama and sad moments just as much as happy ones. The background music really goes well with the mood of each situation and just at the right time. I almost shed a tear at one point in the series coz of the situation and the music was just sad...I give the music team a thubs up! no two! XD
Character:
The reason why this anime is great. The plot alone isn't enough to make you interested in watching a series, the characters do. And here the characters make you hate them at some point, or feel sorry for them at other times. There is no real antagonist in this story coz all of the characters are acting out of their feelings, and when you're in love, sometimes it's hard to see if what you did or said is wrong until you see the result..and there's also character development especially in the two main characters (Yano and Nanami).
Overall:
If you love romance, or romance anime to be particular, this is a definite must watch!
