Lighthearted cooking anime! Kinda. Dorohedoro and Golden Kamuy both weave sidesplitting comedy and disturbingly gory violence together naturally, creating a combination that's incredibly entertaining to watch. These are both anime where you'll end up loving and rooting for every single character despite some less than savory behavior, while also getting really invested in the worlds they occupy. Golden Kamuy nails the historical setting, while Dorohedoro impresses with a super-creative fantasy.

Dr. Stone

These series are much more fun if you don't think about them too hard. They're full of bizarre comedy, ridiculous (yeah, overpowered) protagonists, and most importantly, the best asspulls. Dr. Stone goes with some "scientific" trick to solve it's impossible problems, whereas Sakamoto just does everything with the best finesse. Dr. Stone takes itself somewhat seriously but it's lighthearted and popcorn-y enough that I get a wonderful campy experience akin to Sakamoto's slices of parody.

Africa no Salaryman (TV)

Office comedy starring anthropomorphic animals. I think Aggretsuko is a much better show overall, but Africa no Salaryman is funny enough in its slice-of-life hijinks to be worthy of a watch.

Both shows work wonders with expressive characters and strong visual comedy. They also share a core theme that humans (and dragons/alien psychic girls) need companionship. Both employ this theme excellently to elicit a genuine emotional response from the viewer. If you're looking for that element of the supernatural, but in the setting of a lighthearted and relaxing episodic series with a varied and likable cast, both have it in spades!

Cowboy Bebop

Megalo Box

The obvious comparison between the two is the aesthetic - mainly the excellent artistic direction seen in both, however, both are also set in deeply realized futuristic societies and feature charismatic, funny and intriguing characters. Megalo Box follows a much straightforward, predictable story arc than Bebop, but it is enjoyable nevertheless.
