I am so overjoyed that i've been able to experience this masterpiece of a series. I want to tell you right ahead that if you plan on watching, just watch it before reading any other recommendations or reviews. This is one of those series i'll keep rewatching just because i love the characters so much and the way they interact with each other. The main character Takeo is probably one of the best, most wholesome characters i've seen in any series so far. I'll get into that in my review.
Let's start with the story, it's quite simple really. A guy who generally isn't
...
popular with girls (He's awesome anyways) gets his first girlfriend. The story revolves in the ways which they two cheerishes their relationship together and some of their challenges ahead. I really enjoy the honesty which is presented in the two, how they actually try solving things that are bugging them or that are hindering then in a genuine way. None of them are in need of rushing the relationship in a quick pace and both have such huge respect and love for each other it's just something that must be seen for yourself.
The characters are all really well made and they feel unique! Atleast the main characters and the supporting characters who are seen more frequently. Takeo is very straight forward, caring, loving and has a soft side for Rinko (His girlfriend). He usually blurts out some random nonsense when trying to explain his feelings which i find extremely funny, but it's like he's doing his very best to be true to himself and the ones around him and i really love that about him.
Rinko, Takeos girlfriend is basically an all around loveable character too and you can't get enough of the interactions between her and Takeo. Shes also very loveable, friendly and cheerful. None of the two main characters are displayed as perfect and there is moments when their insecurity and doubtfulness about themselves and each other is displayed and that's really good too.
If i can explain their relationship in one word it would be "Appreciation". I think they are truly grateful for having each other in their life, the feelings that are being shown is truly something many romance animes lack to get all the way through with but not My Love Story!
I also think the main character Takeo who is displayed as bulky and huge, which i usually don't see in any other type of Anime. It's really not the norm so i'm very happy to see another type of character taking the spotlight! Takeos expressions and ways to describe his own feelings are the best! Often short for words but he accepts that, because you can't describe every type of feeling you have in a super accurate way anyway.
I already said this but i'm happy that i watched this. This series will always hold a close place in my heart and i'll continue rewatching it from time to time.
