This anime is.... something. It is essentially just a quick, cheap shot of low quality delinquent anime straight into your veins. Sure, the animation is up there, but it is so generic, half baked, and one dimensional that the animation does nothing for it. In the first couple episodes, the show displayed some semblance of interesting plot, but it all went to waste. They also rip characters from TR (Tokyo Revengers) shamelessly, for example they literally have Baji in the show as the MC's rival, like no changes at all, the looks and personality (or at least a shell of his personality) have been put
...
into the show. We also have the MC's "sidekick" who looks an awful lot like TR's MC with MHA's MC's personality, it's actually uncanny. He writes notes and describes to the MC and the audience who the people they fight are. Also in episode 5 or 6 as they are heading to the most dull tournament esc arc ever, he says that he wants to get good at fighting, now this is odd for 3 reasons, one is that there is no build up or reason for him to say this other than him maybe admiring the group as they fight (this also doesn't seem to be his role as a character), 2, this wasn't addressed during the actual fighting itself (I haven't seen all the episodes, nor are all the episodes out, but it's weird bc he talks about it like right before and it would have actually made for some interesting plot), 3, this is the exact complaint people have about TR's MC. You see what I'm getting at right? We also have Smiley as the main bad guy of "the devotees of power" or you could really say any generic "I like fighting and I'm insane" character. It feels like there is absolutely no reason for him to be this way. Also that one guy with the shark teeth and the stomach pills is just so extremely nothing, like genuinely it's the most interesting thing about him to the point that they show it in the intro as a main thing. (trust me this review would go on forever if I talked about each character) (also the author literally jammed in their quirky edgy OC with no character flaws past ep 1 into a delinquent anime about mysterious and strong cardboard cutouts)
Speaking of the intro, you get the vibe of the show from it, and not in a good way. It just feels so quick, cheap, and generic. All it does is show fighting and some other stuff and the song is fast paced almost like they don't have much to show bc there is nothing of interest. Like usually in OPs they actually are able to incorporate interesting plot elements into the intro, which they kinda do here but there are a lack of them which makes sense.
When it comes to the plot, it's a generic delinquent anime where I assume they will go from district to district taking down other gangs which literally sums up the entire show sadly enough. There also isn't really worldbuilding in general or even hinting towards the other districts/gangs in any significant way.
To sum it up, it is a show with no substance riding on the coattails of Tokyo Revengers that was probably just put out to farm cash I guess.
(While I was overly negative in this review I would like to say that I dislike doing so because I want to root for what I watch, but with how I felt watching the show, it felt necessary to do this)

Orient season 2 is a continuation of the first season of Orient. That being said, it differs from season one in many ways. Orient is a story about a young boy named Musashi who once slaved away for his village that worships Oni. Oni are creatures that kill humans and make them do their bidding, the main way that they are combatted are through forming groups called Bushi Bands. Musashi escaped his enslavement and now resides in the Uesugi band after the events in season 1.
Now on to individual topics:
Art:
The art in this show is quite good and serves its purpose. The art doesn't
...
look like anything out of Fate, or Violet Evergarden but it is immersive and has improved since the previous season. The animation is also quite good and has also improved.
Music:
The opening and ending are fantastic. The opening is hype and has both great music and animation, nothing more to say.
Plot:
The plot of this season is immersive and well built, making use of and constructing upon what the first season has already done. The current arc also gives more context to the power system.
Characters:
The characters in this series are not the deepest or most complex, but they feel believable and fun to watch.
Overall this a great underrated and underknown anime that should have more praise and recognition than it currently has.

To be honest, this feels as if FLCL raised Kaguya Sama Love is War. What I am saying is that it feels as if this season's pacing is faster than a cheetah's top speed. I am not saying that this is a determent, far from it, it's just kind of trippy. It also feels like every episode is legitimately insane and is warping reality.
The story is good but nothing mind blowing or insane.
The art did improve from the previous season, but not by much. Still looks great.
The opening and ending are great and feel like continuations of the previous season's.
The characters are still good
...
from the previous season.
Even with the fast pacing and what seems to be distortion in the fabric of reality, I do quite enjoy this.
Overall, good show.

(This review does not contain my thoughts on the filler)
I went into this anime thinking that is was going to be majorly overhyped and the plot would be held together with duct tape and glue, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The writing and characters within this anime are pretty great, definitely not the best, but I feel as if a lot of the motivations are pretty well conveyed. The character development, when it happens, is a bit simplistic, but I do feel like the lack of small improvements is made up for by some of the bigger developments, and analyzing subtle ways the characters act.
The
...
music is amazing, I have not heard an OST, opening, or ending that I didn't like.
The art is pretty good, except for when it massively changes in quality for the worse. It definitely bugged me when it happened during some episodes, but the quality did ramp up later in the show.
Overall, great show, and it does live up to a decent amount of the hype surrounding it.

World Trigger.... what can I say? For starters, this is a great anime that at first glance looks like a show that you should drop due the amount of episodes and lackluster art. I will have to say, yes the episode count is daunting and the art is not up to the standards of most anime you probably have watched, but I feel like when you get past that, you will really enjoy it.
Addressing the art, I will have to say that it does
...
improve later on, but if you can see through that too the great characters, plot, and battles, you most likely will start going to the next episode without hesitation. The large episode count doesn't matter either because every episode feels needed and filled with greatness, but there is a filler arc that some people do not enjoy.
The characters of this story are very compelling and stick to their morals and main goals throughout the entire story, improving on themselves in a very human way.
This is only a part of what this anime has to offer, I suggest actually watching it to be able to fully experience it!

Guilty Crown review:
Art: 9/10
In Guilty Crown, every shot of this anime looks beautiful, from the landscapes, to the action scenes, to the general backgrounds, everything in this show is angelic in how good it looks. The art of the locations featured in this anime really show how the production budget was up there, and every single shot looks real and believable and helps majorly with the world building.
The character design is AMAZING, Guilty Crown is one of those rare shows that makes every character look interesting, one of the designs that particularly struck me was the other guy with the void genome that
...
kidnapped Inori even though he was a minor character!
Also, you know you’ve done something well when you make the “generic brown hair no personality protagonist” have an interesting design.
The intros are also very impressive in their art design.
The one gripe I have is that right after the first arc, for like two episodes, the budget drops drastically for like two episodes.
Characters: 7/10
I LOVVVEEE the character design in this show, but the personalities leave something to be desired. While not every character is a cookie cutter cut-out, I do feel like some lack a lot, such as the main character, yes he does get some development later, but I do feel like after he starts becoming more confident, becomes evil and then redeems himself, is just as hollow. Inori also follows this pattern and basically stops functioning as a character that undergoes character development after episode 12.
Ayase in my opinion is the most developed and unique character in the show. From her playing with the pen on the top of her lip early on, to her being one of the most understanding people in this show in general. She also is a representation of the differently abled and how they can be relevant even without the use of what they don’t have, but I feel like this is undermined when she is easily kidnapped by a bunch of school kids even though she is professionally trained in fighting.
There are a few other flaws I have with some other characters. For example, Yahiro goes from toxic, discriminatory, and harsh, to “nice side character friend” in two episodes. What I really don’t get are his motivations because he doesn’t even argue when the school is freed and he is taken out of power.
I also have a problem with “evil Gai”. While you might say that he was evil from the beginning, I would have to disagree because for one, he had shown no signs of being like that from the start, and two, why would he want to anyways, if those were his intentions from the start, why did he structure the Funeral Parlor in such a way that it barely moves toward accomplishing his goal?
Music: 9/10
This show has some of the best music I have heard in anime period. None of the songs made me want to skip them at all (although I usually don’t skip intros or outros). Let’s talk about the first OP, (the entire reason I decided to watch this anime in the first place), in it you get the best of the best of both worlds. What I mean is that the art really catches your eye while not lingering too long, and the music fits perfectly not only with what is going on screen, but with what goes on in the anime. The intro also shows the void selection system, which you could consider a spoiler, but the anime switches to a new OP before it even becomes relevant, this really goes to show that the creators of the opening really put a lot of thought into it.
The first ending of this show really encapsulates the whole romance aspect of the first half of the anime, and really does a good job of portraying that, plus, it is a great song that also fits the tone and narrative of the plot at that current half of the anime. It also serves as a way to calm down from the intense, well choreographed action that takes place nearly every episode. For the second ending, I feel that it contrasts the first by being upbeat and a little intense to kind of match the undertones of the situation the students are in, by almost giving a feeling of “come on, rush! We have to do something!” after the climax of the song. The beginning of the song also matches the undertones of the show, it really conveys “what do I do? I am in a helpless situation”, the emotion of fear and not knowing what is going to come next is conveyed in a crystal clear way. This becomes more apparent when you look at the first few lyrics of the song, “Left alone in this world, what should I be feeling?”
World building: 8/10:
I feel that the world building in this show is actually pretty good. I saw the art for the various settings and locations and was blown away. Shu’s apartment feels like it would definitely fit in with the year the story takes place in and all the weaponry and technology also feels well constructed and fits in with the rest of it.
Plot: 7/10
If there was one way I would choose to describe this entire anime, it would be good, but boring. This is not an original statement though, it actually comes from the animedao user named: D4C, I just found that they took how I felt about the anime and put it into a description that I never would have thought of.
Overall: 7.5/10

This anime was amazing, almost a 10, except for some minor budget and plot issues. Other than that this was AMAZING. Each episode felt like an entire adventure and not a single second of each 24 minute episode was wasted. It honestly felt like the story went on for as long as something like HxH, it just goes to show how much the show felt like a complete adventure. The art is beautiful, by using the watercolor/ancient Japanese art style really made this masterpiece of a show stand out and really give it a unique vibe. The music is phenomenal, the first intro has an
...
immense sense of style, really shows the old Japanese style, and overall gets you pumped for the show. The second opening feels like something that belongs in Naruto with how well it shows themes of companionship and an amazing journey. Both endings are overall chill, but some of the best music I have heard in my life, especially the second one. It really shows the grander scale of the whole second half, while also being visually and auditorily stunning.
Overall score 9.7/10
