Every now and then, I decide to take a break from watching seasonal anime to watch non-seasonals instead. The non-seasonal anime that I decided to watch this time was Wake Up, Girls! because of a certain voice actress called Tanaka Minami. However, even though I did decide to watch this anime mainly because of her, the anime proved to be quite enjoyable to watch. Seeing the main characters growing to become a semi-professional idol unit from their very small beginnings did make me warm inside.
Story:
The story has good pacing. Even though most of the episodes showcases a story of a different girl, it also
...
has its own story development. The group, Wake Up Girls(WUG) starts off almost as a dysfunctional unit and has many difficulties initially, but as the anime progresses, WUG gains more popularity and becomes more cohesive unit. However, they also faced countless difficulties along the way, including clashes within the group, members facing the grueling task of coming to terms with their past and the group struggling to get the hang of the songs that they were given. In the end, they overcame the obstacles and emerged as a fascinating and exciting idol group. One great aspect of the show is the way it manages to create suspense at the end of every episode. It keeps the viewer glued to his seat wanting to know what will happen in the next episode. However, the show can also be dull at times which may bore the viewer watching it.
Rating: 7/10
Animation:
I was quite impressed with the way the choreography was animated but at the same time, I was quite put off with the mediocre character animations which look like they've been butchered at times.
Rating: 6/10
Music:
Catchy opening, especially the first opening Tachiagare. In addition, the various songs that the group sang were also groovy to listen to.
Rating: 8/10
Character
The anime has great character development as each character has different personalities. In addition, the anime gave great backstory coverage of the main girls.
Each girl has her own struggle to overcome, with the main girl Mayu having to come with terms with her past with her old agency I-1, while Airi had to overcome her lack of talent with pure hard work and perseverance. I was especially impressed by how Mayu was able to come to terms with her past, overcome it and become the idol that she wanted to become. If I were to share my favorite character of the anime, it's a hard decision, because I love both Mayu and Minami. Initially, Minami caught my eyes because of her bubbly personality and cute voice but as the series progressed, I became impressed with Mayu's determination to prevail over her past and become the idol that she wished to become in the beginning. For that, I have to say that Mayu is my favorite character of the series.
Rating: 7.5/10
Overall, Wake Up, Girls! is a quality idol anime. Not only does it have an interesting and suspenseful story, it also has quality character development and excellent music! If you're not put off by the sometimes sub-par animation, Wake Up, Girls! is a stellar idol anime to watch!

The summer anime that i was looking forward to ever since it was announced and had expectations for this season after watching season 1 last year, and I can gladly say that I was not disappointed one bit! In fact, I fell in love with the anime because one thing was clear from the beginning, something about Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san S2(I'll call the anime Takagi S2 from now on) stood out compared to season 1, and that was Takagi and Nishikata in the final 2 episodes.
Story: The story continues on from S1 with Takagi teasing Nishikata non-stop as usual. However, something felt different
...
about her teasing this season compared to S1. I think that something was the fact that in the majority of her teases, she was conveying her crush on Nishikata to him and was giving him hints. However, Nishikata being Nishikata, did not catch her hints and thought that she was just teasing him for the fun of it, though at times he did consider her hints, only to shrug them off unfortunately, which frustrated me during the first 11 episodes as I was cheering Takagi on in her pursuit of Nishikata. Fortunately, he redeemed himself at the last 2 episodes by asking Takagi out on a date to the festival with the climax coming in episode 12 when he held her hands. I was brimming in excitement and joy at that scene.
Plus the fact that we had 2 new characters this season added some plot to the overall story.
The only thing that I didn't really like from S2 was the scenes of Mina, Sanae and Yukari. I know that they are filler scenes, but come on, when you watch a scene of Nishikata and Takagi, you just want it to continue and I was pretty annoyed when they showed the filler scenes to the point that I just skept them in later episodes.
Overall a good continuation from S1 and is much more exciting with more juicy scenes of Nishikata and Takagi and new characters
Rating: 9/10
Art: I can't comment much about the animation of S2 since it's basically a continuation from season 1. My only comment is that I really liked the animation of the fireworks in the last episode of the series.
Rating: 7/10
Sound/Music: Ahh, Rieri. Her voice is so cute and soothing to the ears. I loved the endings for S2 because they were sung by Rieri. You can feel that Rieri put a lot of energy and feelings into the endings, because they were a full of happiness, longing for, and anticipation. In fact, I enjoyed the endings so much that I have downloaded all 7 ending songs into my phone!
Rating: 9/10
Characters: I will focus on Takagi and Nishikata in this section because we got to see Takagi at her best this season and Nishikata redeeming himself towards the end of the season! From the very first episode, you could see that Takagi was really going in hard to tell Nishikata of her feelings for him in hopes that he will reciprocate his. Unfortunately as mentioned earlier on in the review, Nishikata was not sensitive to her hints and just shrugged them off thinking that Takagi just liked to tease him because she liked to(dont get me wrong she does, but there's a deeper meaning to her teasing). She became more and more aggressive in her pursuit of Nishikata further into the series but it seemed that her teasing wouldn't pay off. Until episode 11 when Nishikata asked her out on a date. And I enjoyed that scene thoroughly.
Nishikata on the other hand, was frustrating to watch throughout the series as he always failed to win and was not good at love. Fortunately, he redeemed himself when he delivered the critical hits to Takagi when it mattered, by asking her out on a date and holding her hands in the final 2 episodes. Good job Nishikata!
I envy these 2 lovebirds if only if I had a relationship like them when I was in middle school.
Rating: 9/10
To conclude my review, Takagi S2 brought the best out of our 2 main characters, Nishikata and Takagi. Takagi communicating her love to Nishikata through teases and Nishikata delivering the critical hits to Takagi when necessary really made me love them more than I did in season 1.
I'll dearly miss Takagi season 2 to me it was really well produced and was much better than S1. I hope there'll be a continuation of the series via a season 3 maybe? Or a spin-off from the manga of both our lovebirds when they've married and have a kid.

An anime which I watched some, SOME, episodes on Animax, I decided to complete Hanayamata because it had the one element which I love. Tradition. An anime which focuses on Yosakoi, a traditional Japanese dance with cute girls dancing it. Nothing better than cute girls dancing! Plus, we have a gaijin girl in the anime, all the better!!
Story: The story is well, pretty generic when it comes to the Slice of life school life genre. The MC gets pulled in to a club by a random person, and the two of them rope in more people to officially form a club. Sure, they have
...
their struggles in between, but they settle them before completing the final climactic dance. Apart from the Yosakoi dance, the story idea is quite generic and average. The one thing that I liked about the story is how it's not rushed. Every episode has character development, and sometimes we have 1 entire episode devoted to one specific character. And as you know me already, I like knowing the characters and falling in love with them further down the anime.
Rating: 7.7/10
Art: The art is pretty beautiful in this anime. From the sakuras, to the fireworks, Hanayamata's artwork is quite stunning and compelling to say the least. However, if there's one aspect which I didn't exactly like about the art, it's the character animation. Some of the character's faces and facial expressions looked kinda weird.
Rating: 8.5/10
Music: Probably the category which I like most in Hanayamata. Hanayamata's music is just exciting, catchy, rhythmic and in some ways beautiful to listen to.
Rating: 9.6/10
Characters: As I said earlier, great character development. We have at least 1 episode devoted to that 1 particular character which allows the viewer to be attracted to that particular character and eventually fall in love with them as the story progresses. We get to know all the character's strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes and passion. 1 particular character made me fall in love with her, and that's none other than Tami. She's like the perfect Japanese girl. Beautiful, good-mannered, gentle, caring and supportive. I really loved Tami while watching Hanayamata.
Rating: 9.5/10
In conclusion, an anime which I enjoyed greatly. The music, the characters, the animation, they were all great! And the ending to the anime was great too with all the 5 girls getting to dance together. And of course, mixing in tradition to modern life really draws my love for this anime!

One of only 2 animes that I'm watching this season. Yes you heard me right, I'm only watching 2 animes this season(the other being Senko-san). If I were to put it, Senko-san is for the relaxation while Senryuu Shoujo is all about the enjoyment seeing the relationship between Nanako and Eiji blossom.
Story: Senryuu Shoujo's story revolves around writing Senryuus, which are unrhymed Japanese verses which is used in poetry and follows our 2 love birds, Nanako and Eiji in their blossoming relationship as the anime progresses. But that's not all. We have Amame, Kino, Koto and Tao who support Nanako in her quest to
...
win Eiji's love for her through shits and giggles :v. It's a simple story for a somewhat romance anime. What impresses me the most is.... Nanako's innocent smile and personality but that's for the characters category :v
Rating: 7.4/10
Animation: Senryuu Shoujo's animation is quite beautiful especially animation of the sakuras falling from the trees. Again, it's rather simple scenery animation which I do like. In addition, I like the character animation especially their facial animation expressing their emotions.
Rating: 7.8/10
Music: Senryuu Shoujo's opening is quite lively and cheerful and it revs up the audience to watch the episode. I also have to compliment the anime in one aspect: I love the voice-acting of Kana Hanazawa i.e Nanako's voice actress. She's got such a sweet sounding and comforting voice.
Rating: 8.2/10
Character: The best scoring category for the anime. I love how they developed the characters from start to finish. Particularly for Eiji's character. We all thought that he was quite rough and is a hooligan at the beginning of the anime but it turns out, he does have a soft side underneath his aggressive behavior. And we can't forget Nanako! She's so pure, innocent, gentle and sweet-looking. She's probably the most fragile girl in an anime that I've seen in quite a while. Yet, she likes Eiji who's a complete opposite of her. Guess opposite poles do attract each other after all. And of course, I have to mention the more prominent side characters, namely Amame and Koto. They're so supportive of Nanako and Eiji having a relationship with each other.
Rating: 8.5/10
In conclusion, Senryuu Shoujo is an enjoyable anime as a whole. I loved watching Nanako and Eiji's relationship getting closer and closer as the story progressed and I kinda hope to see how it all turns out eventually.

Ever since I watched Non Non Biyori last year, I was captivated by it's simple yet relaxing story. Being from a city, life is pretty chaotic, busy and fast paced. You rarely get to enjoy life. Non Non Biyori took me back to my childhood when life was still simple and enjoyable.
When I first heard that Non Non Biyori movie was airing last year, I was over the moon! I couldn't wait and now that I've watched it, it has reminded me of my childhood once again. The childhood I love so much.
Story: Though Non Non Biyori has a very simple story, it's
...
able to captivate and draw the viewers to enjoy it. It showcases the very best of Okinawa and life over there. Throughout the story, we are shown the rich nature that Okinawa has to offer and the slow-paced, relaxing life of Okinawans. And it gets all the more better when you have the MCs interacting with the locals there, especially Natsumi making friends with Aoi. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable story for all!
Rating: 10/10
Art: I love Non Non Biyori's animation it's so detailed and refined!
Rating: 9/10
Sound: Ah yes the relaxing soundtrack of Non Non Biyori is such a delight to hear!
Rating: 9/10
Character: The only character I'll be analyzing is Aoi, since she's the new one. I find her to be very mature for her age and she's also very easy to get along with. She's also pretty and charming.
Rating: 9/10
Overall a very entertaining movie to watch! Non Non Biyori is one of those animes for people to just sit back in the chairs and enjoy the relaxing and slow paced story. It's very good for those who just want to have a break and to slow down in life. And now that S3 has been announced, i can only wait in anticipation for another season of Non Non Biyori!

Anime Review: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken
One of the best Isekai animes I've watched, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, or as I like to call it, Tensei Slime, is not only an action packed anime, but also a feels anime. I must say that after watching Tensei Slime, my standard of good Isekais has risen and Isekai animes have a lot of pressure to impress me in the future!
Story: As the title says, a man died and got reincarnated to a Slime. He meets a legendary dragon, and instantly becomes one of the most OP anime characters in existence. Along the way he meets countless
...
people: goblins, wolves, ogres, lizards, humans and other species of creatures and instantly gains their respect through his overwhelming power.
Story wise it is a very interesting anime as each episode presents us with a different situation and because of that, very often we are left on cliffhangers, waiting for the next episode to see what will happen next. Pacing wise I find it alright it wasn't too slow nor was it too fast it had decent pacing. Of course I might have to read the manga in order to better comment on the pacing and story but anime wise, an excellent Isekai anime!
Rating: 10/10
Animation: The animation is very detailed and very artistic. I love all the character animations and the fighting animation scenes were very well done in my opinion.
Rating: 8.5/10
Music/Sound: Excellent OPs and EDs they were all very catchy and great to listen to. Fight and special effect sounds were also impressive to say the least I loved hearing the explosion sounds everytime there was a fight,
Rating: 8.2/10
Characters: I find that Tensei Slime shines in this category. Tensei Slime gives us detailed character development even for the minor characters and makes us fall in love with each and every character; their appearance, personality, strengths, weaknesses, character. The bond between the characters and the audience is very strong as Tensei Slime pulls no punches it shows us the ups and downs of each and every character. As for my favorite character in the series, it's none other than Rimuru! He's so hilarious and fun to watch!
Rating: 10/10
In conclusion, Tensei Slime is an extremely solid Isekai and one which I'd recommend to people who love the Isekai genre as It has all the elements a great Isekai needs: Action packed and suspenseful storyline, excellent fights, great animation and excellent character development! I can't wait for season 2 of Tensei Slime! In the meantime I might read the manga to see what the anime missed.

I just have 3 words to say: SASUGA P.A. WORKS! Irozuku had all the Nagi no Asukara vibes yet it had it's own originality to set it apart from Nagi no Asukara. I absolutely loved watching Irozuku no Ashita Kara. From the story, to the characters, animation and music, they were all 10/10!!!
Story: It all started when Grandma Kohaku decided to send Hitomi back 60 years to the past. That's when all the feels and romance started. It was as if fate had intervened. Hitomi ended up in Yuito's room and met Yuito when he was drawing. That was when she realized she could see
...
the colors in his drawing. At first Yuito was surprised, but as the two of them bonded together in the same club, romance started to fill the air as both fell in love with each other. They both went out with each other, chased each other down the street, and hugged each other in a final act of love. Alas, Hitomi had to return to her timeline, but that was not the end of their relationship just yet. Something interfered with Kohaku's magic and sent both Yuito and Hitomi to another world, a dull world. However, as Hitomi and Yuito both confessed to and hugged each other, the curse of Hitomi started to break apart, and Hitomi realized that she could finally see color again. After saying their final goodbyes, Hitomi was finally sent back to the future. God I feel like I'm writing a romance novel. In other story, this story is about Hitomi's growth as a person as she interacts with other characters. At first, she was cold, shy and rather aloof. However, she soon becomes a warm and friendly person, willing to talk to others and help them. I love how the characters interacted with one another and the various ships associated with them. Sho X Asagi, Kurumi X Chigusa and the stars of the show, Hitomi X Yuito. The story is also heartwarming full of feels! I cried while watching certain episodes. Overall a 10/10 story. The only criticism I can give is they rushed the middle of the anime a bit so there's a bit of inconsistency when it comes to the pacing of the show.
Rating: 10/10
Animation: You know that animation will be on point when P.A. Works is the one animating the anime. The animation was like Nagi no Asukara, PERFECTION! I loved the animation of the scenery, the characters, the magic effects, and of course, the fireworks!!! I also love how they put so much detail into the animation. The only criticism I can give is they botched up some of the animation for the last episode. Other than that, 10/10!
Rating: 10/10
Music/Sound
Again, it's P.A. Works, so the music is amazing!!! I love both the opening and especially the ending they're so beautiful and soothing to listen to. Mimei no imi to Hakumei no Mahou has become my top 5 songs for this year! The sound effects for magic casting are also great to hear!
Rating: 10/10
Characters: Ah yes the characters. P.A. Works did a pretty good job for the characters. There was just enough character development for each character to make us fall in love with them. I loved how they developed Hitomi's character. I already mentioned it earlier so I'll skip her. Yuito is quite gentle but quite dense. Sho is the big brother character trying to protect and looking out for everyone. Asagi is the little sister character a soft and emotional character. Chigusa is the.... clown of the anime with all the jokes he makes and sometimes the insensitive things he says. Kurumi is probably the most level headed and smartest person out of the bunch? And of course, Kohaku the most cheerful and fun-loving character although she can get serious. I have a hard time choosing which is my favorite character but you know what, I'm gonna do something different and choose Hitomi as my favorite character for the show.
Rating: 10/10
Overall, my favorite anime for Fall 2018 season and possibly my top 5 anime for this year! I absolutely love Irozuku and I gotta thank P.A. Works for making such a heartwarming anime.

When I first saw this anime, I thought it was something like cute girls surviving a Zombie apocalypse. Heck even the trailer and description made it look like a Zombie Apocalypse. I thought cool, sounds like a nice anime. How wrong was I. Instead of guns and explosions, we get Zombie idolru and truck-kun. It was still a somewhat decent anime and I really laughed through the whole anime, and at the same time shedding some tears through the way.
Story:
Well, first episode in, and the main character already died in Truck-kun's hands. 10/10 best opening for an anime ever. And Sakura revives as a Zombie
...
and ends up with other Zombies becoming idolrus in order to save Saga. The story was enjoyable and at the same time laughable with all the meme scenes :v. I really liked how they showcased each and every character's backstory so that we can understand the characters better and fall in love with them. And I also like how Kotarou is always pushing and encouraging the MCs to persevere and become great idolrus, despite using unconventional methods to do so. And in the end, they did it, and the story continues, as there'll most probably be a 2nd season to Zombieland Saga.
Rating: 8/10
Animation:
For the first time ever, even though Zombieland Saga used CGI for the idol performances, it was actually quite good and not cancerous like other animes. I have to give credit to MAPPA for producing great CGI animation quality. Other than that, the character and background animations were great.
Rating: 7.5/10
Music:
Opening was so memey heck I loved the opening. The songs for the idol performances were also good I liked it.
Rating: 7.8/10
Characters:
The character development for Zombieland Saga was good I feel that every character had enough development to appeal to the viewers. Almost one episode per character, and for Sakura's case, 2-3 episodes for her. Kotarou himself had a quite a thorough development where we see that beneath his rude appearance, he has a soft side. Also, I must give a shout out to the best character of the series, TRUCK-KUN!
Rating: 8.6/10
Overall, an anime I enjoyed more than I originally thought. Can't wait for the 2nd season of Zombieland Saga!

I wish I watched Gabriel Dropout sooner, because it was basically a comedy show. Each episode was full of laughs and although it got a bit more serious in the last few episodes, there were still scenes that were worthy of laughing at.
In terms of story there wasn't much in the way of story development the anime is more for the shits and giggles than the story IMO. In summary, the story revolves around Gabriel, Raphiel, Vignette and Satania and their interactions+struggles with the people around them and each other.
Animation wise is nothing too special. It's decent especially the animation of heaven and the character
...
design of the angels and demons.
Music is also quite decent I like the ending sounds pretty groovy.
The core of the anime is about the characters and how they grow or in the case of Gabriel, fall further and further into the abyss. A huge chunk of the anime goes into character development of Gabriel, Raphiel, Vignette and Satania which makes the audience feel connected to the 4 characters. There's Gabriel who's lazy though she does help her friends, Vignette who's caring and friendly who should be more of an angel than a demon, Raphiel who's gentle and nice but has a sadistic streak in her and Satania, who proclaims that she's the most evil demon but always end up failing in her attempts to be one. My favorite character in the anime is Raphiel she's damm hilarious to watch and is voiced by Kana Hanazawa who has a voice of an angel.
Overall if I had to rate the anime based on the 4 factors it'd be as follows:
Story: 7.4/10
Animation: 7/10
Music/Sound: 7.6/10
Characters: 9.5/10

YES THE TIME HAS COME, TO REVIEW MY AOTS AND FAV ANIME OF SUMMER 2018, REVUE STARLIGHT! I have never been a fan of music/idol anime(THOUGH REVUE IS NOT IDOL). To be honest, I actually didn't plan to watch Revue Starlight this season, it wasnt on my ptw list. Until someone recommended the anime on discord. And I was quite curious as well, so I thought, well, since I dropped quite a few anime already and this season has been pretty meh or bad, maybe I'll just give this anime a try? And boi, not only do I not regret watching this anime, this anime
...
has become my AOTS! 10/10 anime! Idk there's something in this anime which really places it above the rest. The unique story, the excellent choreography with the stage arts, the out of this world music, and the diverse cast of characters just sets this anime apart from others. I also enjoyed Revue so much, I couldn't wait to watch it every Saturday or Sunday. And although it's ended, it has left an undeniably breathtaking impression on me.
Story: The story, or should I say anime itself takes a different approach to the music/idol genre. Instead of the usual idol stage performance in front of packed crowds, we see the characters performing stage arts back stage, in front of a.... giraffe, which is funny, though that giraffe just creeps me out. However, the story focuses on Karen and Hikari, both childhood friends who end up in the same school together(thks to the giraffe's help). Karen then stumbles upon the "top star" performance, and that is where most of the action takes place, with the characters using actual weapons to try and knock off the oppenent's badge, which was surprising but at the same time impressive, since this made the stage art more serious unlike the usual generic, happy-go-lucky idol performance that we see with other shows like Love live, and Idolmaster. The fact that there were weapons involved just raised the stakes even higher, which made the characters fight for the top star position as if their lives were at stake. This is what sets Revue Starlight apart from other generic idol animes, because it takes a more serious angle towards stage performance and stage arts. The story was also impressive, as it shows both SoL moments of the characters everyday lives and the "fights" they perform behind the scene, so every episode is action packed! The MC, Karen wants to change the system of "Starlight" whereby only 1 girl can be the top star, and in the end she does it, and boi what an episode it was! 10/10!!. On a side note, this anime.... wooo... is full of lesbian ships(though it's implied) with only Mahiru being left out(sorry Mahiru). But yea overall the story is a 10/10
Rating: 10/10
Animation: The character and general animation itself is pretty generic, nothing special. But boi the choreography and stage animation, are on a whole different level! This is the 2 things I was impressed the most each and every time the characters fought on the stage. They're just.... amazing!!!
Rating: 9.2/10
Music/Sound: I think I've already said in a few posts that the music in Revue is on a different standard. When I listened to the first insert song in episode 1, I knew that the music in this anime will be lit! And boi was I not wrong. As stated in my post last night, 4/5 of my fav songs this month comes from Revue Starlight, but in reality, it's more like 8 of the songs are my fav this month. Opening, great. ending, amazing. Inserts, the best I've ever listened to! The music in Revue Starlight is just on an entirely new and different level from the generic idol anime music. For once I could sense that the VAs were actually putting in effort when singing the song which captivates the audience who are watching the anime. On the sound level, the stage sounds were very good, but the general sounds are nothing special. Still, gonna be my highest rating for music in an anime review ever!
Rating:12/10
Characters: I will... go through this pretty fast because I've got no space to individually go through all 9 of the main/sub cast in this post. So the main characters of Revue are Karen and Hikari. Karen being the bubbly, naive, happy-go-lucky type of person with Hikari being the more serious and apparently smarter person. Both are childhood friends as already mentioned. And, these 2, the amount of lesbian ships between the 2 of them is.... too many. But my fav ships of the anime :v though it's mainstream. The other characters are Maya, Claudine, Futaba, Kaoruko, Juuna, Banana and Mahiru, though I must say Mahiru is left lonely at the end of the anime(Karen got stolen by Hikari so rip Mahiru). Each of them have very distinct personalities which really complements each ship. Maya X Claudine, Kaoruko X Futaba, Banana X Juuna, and Mahiru being single :v. And each of these ships portray either a very funny relationship like Kaoruko X Futaba or a more serious relationship like Banana X Juuna. Which is pretty damm funny and cute overall xD. But yea, Revue a lesbian anime confirmed! :v
On a more serious note, Revue Starlight brings with it a refreshing set of casts for each character. From the veteran and extremely experienced Mimori Suzuko, who voiced in Love live, Yuki Yuna, Bandori and Milky Holmes opera, to the new VAs Komoya Momoyo, who's more of a singer than anime VA, Haruki Iwata and Ikuta Teru. And I love each and every VA of Revue Starlight!
Rating: 10/10
Overall, my favorite anime this Summer 2018 and perhaps maybe even this year in general. I might hav to watch both Yuru Camp and Revue again to see which is my fav overall. Revue Starlight is definitely the standout anime for me this season, which has been pretty disappointing in general. And is AOTS for me!! The story ended very nicely so there's no need for an S2. However I'd like an ova or backstory into Karen and Hikari's friendship. Because even though the anime shows that they've been friends since childhood, it doesn't really go into depth or details so a backstory explaining their childhood friendship is nice.
