Bottom line: waste of time.
Basically the entire story is the main character in hell being punished for eternity in this poorly organized opera run by satan with comedic levels of tragedy. Everything the main character does ends in nearly the worst feasible way. All the characters act as if they were written by chatGPT with the prompt "Please write characters that have the reasoning of characters within a dream, but the deramer dreaming the dream has the mental capacity of a goldfish. Also they are being guided by some force to unnaturally hate the main character." (Yes, this hate force is a part of the
...
plot. I don't quite get how it works myself.)
It is so pathetic watching this character wallow the worst traits of humanity; She is immortal yet she just does the worst job ever at the bare minimum of living a life that is not miserable. There is no character development here. I would have liked this manga more if the author just went all in and had the main character being skinned alive every other page; If the character is in hell, I am extremely disappointed in whoever is running the joint because they are torturing this woman in the most low-effort, yet also convoluted fashion possible.
The author just wanted to write a whole boat load of sad mini-stories all happening to one character and then write in patterns and themes that are actively harmful to the betterment of society; Normally a book has the main character go through trials to convey themes and symbolism that empower the reader to better themselves in some way. Not this time. It starts terrible and maintains it all the way.
I gained nothing by reading this manga. I only wasted a few hours of my life and have become stupider as a result of reading it. The core of why I am so angry is because the manga is so well made it gives the impression of actually being good. If it had just been honest that it was bad from the start I would not have wasted so much of my time.
I hope the hyperbole is obvious, but I am writing this review 2am on a thursday because I need to recoup the zero enjoyment I had reading with the actually enjoyable practice of ragging on the manga.
