An anime where the idea of "marriage" is as mythical as the "one piece", My Happy Marriage has amazing graphics, animation, music, and a bad ass fiance. Unfortunately, those are the only benefits to this anime, with the majority of the content ranging from average to illogical.
My Grievances to this anime:
1.) Miyo and the lack of character development. Miyo is the heroine of the story, having grown up in an abusive, neglecting household that treated her more like a maid than a family member. The anime is completely centered around her and how she feels depressed. It felt to me like the anime completely
...
wanted you to watch out of pity for Miyo. This wouldn't have been that bad, if there had been progress made with Miyo's trauma. However, the anime didn't really attempt to fix it. Miyo randomly became a strong willed character when being tortured by her stepsister and stepmother (which happened at the culmination of the first arc. The season can be split into two main arcs, the first focusing on Miyo's past and the other on interference by outsiders), and then after that completely regressed to how she was when she first met Kudou, allegedly just because she had bad dreams. This leads to her being taken by the Usabas (Miyo's mother is of their bloodline), who reveal that her bad dreams are because she has the most amazing and rare supernatural ability the Usabas have to offer. Because of a special barrier around their house, Miyo can only stop having bad dreams by staying at their residence. Miyo then quickly goes back to normal and masters her powers without really any guidance in two episodes. Miyo just doesn't feel like a well written character to me and I can't bring myself to like her, even if I do empathize with her upbringing.
2.) The superpowers in this anime. This is an anime that I thought was supposed to focus mostly on Miyo and Kiyoka. At first I thought the superpowers were going to be more of a side thing to make the story more interesting, like seen in the Heike Story, playing a crucial part but not being the main focus. And it wasn't, for the first arc of the anime. The second arc focuses completely on the abilities. Seeing as the story is supposed to focus on Miyo and Kiyoka getting together, I think the superpowers were an unnecessary distraction, which ties into my 3rd grievance.
3.) The drama in this anime. With the type of upbringing Miyo had, we had to have some drama in store for us. However, the anime completely went wild with it to the point it was illogical. No matter how entitled Kaya (Miyo's stepsister) was, the fact she had no qualms at literally kidnapping Miyo and torturing her to get what she wanted was crazy, even more so that her mother went along with it. Her mother allegedly hated Miyo because Miyo reminded her of Miyo's mother, who was Mr. Saimori's first husband. The fact that Miyo was kicked out of their house and to the arms of an alleged woman abuser should have been more than enough, and yet Mrs. Saimori allied with her daughter to make Miyo more miserable than she already had been, at the cost of what could happen to the Saimori household.
The second arc was no better. We randomly have the Usabas and even the nation's emperor attempting to interfere with Kiyoka and Miyo's engagement. Both parties should have had - or at least seemed to have- many resources at their hand, meaning they could have interfered with this engagement before it even began. No way would the Saimori's have refused a direct order or request from the emperor to engage Miyo to someone specifically, for instance. The master of the Usaba household went on and on to Miyo about how he loved her mother and how family is important, but never attempted to help Miyo at all while she grew up. And to top it off, the Usabas became allies to Miyo at the end, even though the entire arc was them attempting to remove her from Kiyoka's side.
The content of this anime is a mess and I would never recommend to anyone except people who love unnecessary drama.

When I first started watching this, I honestly didn't understand why it had a score of less than 7/10. The issue is sadly that the anime peaked before it even got halfway, and quickly stagnated, filled with plot holes, and the story didn't seem to match what it was trying to put out.
There are three female interests for the male protagonist. Personally, I think the anime would have been way better with just two. The male protagonist his entire life has devoted to studying to confess to the smartest girl in school. Obviously the fellow cuckoo also has to be a female interest. But
...
the sister, who isn't related by blood, just completely messes up the story. He literally has no feelings for her, and yet its almost as if the maker of this story was biased in her favor, because it tries to prop her up as a potential love every chance it gets. I think its obvious to everyone that the person the protagonist, Nagi, favors is his lifelong crush. He is anything but indecisive, yet the anime acts like he sees all three female characters on the same level, even though there is a extreme difference in how he reacts to his lifelong crush compared to the other two. There is actually character and relationship development between the two cuckoos, so it is completely believable for her to be a love interest as time goes on. But his kid sister? Seriously? Yet the story acted like Nagi did a whole 180 and changed from seeing his sister as his sister to a woman on par with the love of his life in less than 2 episodes. In addition, most of the content that consists of interactions between the first two female interests mentioned above and Nagi are quite wholesome and enjoyable, while any interaction with the sister character quickly becomes intolerable as for the most part she seems to be there to give the mc more choices and to make him indecisive.
As the anime continues to stagnate, it begins to add dramatic surprises to make the story even more complicated. Besides for the 3 love interests, Nagi, and the parents, there is only one other character who can actually be called a character and he is as annoying as possible. The other cuckoo, Erika, has her own crush, but it never goes anywhere in the season. There is a strange relationship between the sister character and Erika's nonbiological father where he takes her out to dinner and she tells him how everyone is getting along. The dad is a strange yet likable man who seems to find this engagement thing between Nagi and Erika a game that he can manipulate to a certain extent.
There are multiple incidences where the anime episode ending doesn't match the beginning of the next episode, as if certain scenes were skipped, and some parts of the anime aren't very friendly with people who don't have a great depth of knowledge about the culture of Japan. For example, I spent about 70 percent of the anime convinced that shrine maidens engage themselves to a god of their choice and aren't permitted to marry, even though the maiden in question is a daughter of the head of a temple. This anime has great design and animation, but besides for that is completely a disappointment.

I found this anime to be a disappointment. The tanking sport they attempted to create did not really fit the world setting at all. In fact, I would say this anime did not accurately entail how dangerous tanks are. No way do you become renowned as a tank operator while sipping tea. Not exactly sure what economy would possibly work where every single girls school is outfitted with a platoon of tanks and where said tanks are driven recklessly not just by students but the teachers as well. There is simply no excuse for an instructor to drive her vehicle out of an airplane and
...
continue to drive over other people's cars before teaching the first lesson, although teaching is a strong word where she simply has the students with no prior knowledge of driving a vehicle let alone a tank drive themselves to specific points on a map to have a scrimage against one another. The attempt to try to make tanking an only girl's sport was quite pathetic too and honestly makes no sense why they couldn't have male tankers. What happened to diversity? I only made it through four episodes because I thought at least the characters had wholesome dialogue that shows some depth but ig that was too much to ask for either. Honestly I feel like this anime is overrated and people should choose something else to watch.

I really liked the world setting this anime had, a fight between man and nature. The characters seemed quite original to me, and no characters were simply mere foils to act out in an extreme manner. The creator of this did a great job with his characters. Generally I find characters that act like pacifists to be annoying, but the fact the pacifist character would kill in self defense really made a difference for me. My only issue with this anime would be how it ended. Overall though this was a great anime with very interesting characters and unique creatures and should definitely get more

attention.

This anime was surprisingly good. I wasnt expecting much when I started after having watched the first season of "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom", which had a somewhat similar plot, but I am very glad I did. I really liked the scheming all the characters did in order to gain an upper hand. None of the characters seemed forced, although some seemed to be too extreme as foils. Sometimes I felt like the story was kind of forced to go a way that helped the main character, but the main character's reactions to such situations balanced it out. This anime's events seemed unique
...
to me and don't follow the usual cliche scenarios. I would definitely recommend this anime if you liked anime that includes strategizing, politics, and world making.

This anime has a slow start but quickly picks up around the fourth episode. I found the plot to be very interesting. Personally, I generally stick with fantasy genre anime, so this anime, which is a story that takes place in a modern world setting with conspiracies and assassins, was a nice change of pace. The story is centered around the two main characters in a way that they get the majority of the dialogue and the supporting characters kind of get snubbed, both with how the story and how the main characters essentially ignore them. The antagonists have decent character and design, I
...
felt like the supporting protagonists could have had more thought put into them. My main problem with this anime is the ending. Nothing major went down in the anime, only small fries were taken out. The story did progress decently, but the anime just stops, without any motivating speech at the end or basically any cliffhanger for what happens next. It felt to me like the anime ended just before the climax and is offputting. Besides for that, I liked the anime and the main characters got a pretty interesting origin story that's worth watching.

This anime is hilarious. I first was skeptical when I started, I'm not a fan of gender bending but I am glad I decided to watch this. In many ways this anime reminded me of Konosuba, from the type of enemies (or rather their relation to the main antagonist) they faced to the fact most of the problems originate between characters rather than between protagonists and antagonists. My only issue with the anime is that I wish it explained certain things more in detail, like how many gods are in this world and why a specific one is so popular as a deity. However, this
...
anime more focuses on comedy than fantasy. The story, characters, and problems blended together so well and I only have fond memories of this season. I hope it gets a sequel.

This anime's plotline is very unique. The imagination of the artist is quite amazing, although I have to wonder if he was inspired by using LSD. The creatures in the anime range from ridiculous to terrifying, and the techniques used by the protagonists are interesting as well. Unfortunately, the climax was medicore and the character development was rushed. For distressing scenes, I was more flummoxed than fixated, and honestly I couldn't help but scoff at how the characters "grew". The anime does have some fanservice but I found the ships to be ridiculous. The plot leading up to the climax was quite good, but the
...
climax truly spoiled the anime for me. I will definitely remember this anime but its not rewatchable imo and I would not recommend it to anyone.

An adaptation of Fate/Zero, this anime is highly enjoyable for those who enjoy the fate world. Instead of focusing on a glorious treasure, this anime focuses more on the life of Mages and the strife they go through. The anime goes through several murder mysteries that make you realize its not just enemies that have to fear mages; their friends and families are not as safe as they would prefer to be. Before beginning this anime, watchers should make sure they have a basic understanding of how the Fate world works as the anime takes you through one fantastical scenario after the next. Although the
...
main character does explain his thought process in finding the culprit, similar to novels for Sherlocke Holmes (mc even says Elementary a few times lol), the magic and mysteries in the Fate world is quite advanced. I found this anime to be a lovely change of pace for the Fate World and am sure for people who like fantasy, mystery, and character development, you will enjoy it as well.

This review includes spoilers.
This anime is sadly in the pile of cliche isekai and reincarnation anime. Although blessed with potential, the character dialogue is poor and the story line terrible. The story follows the recently reincarnated Matthias. He reincarnated due to reaching a point in his old life where he couldn't get stronger. Because of that he committed suicide so that he could potentially become stronger in his next life. In this story line, humanity is blessed with 4 crests which allegedly have their own strengths and weaknesses. However, Matthias finds himself in a world where the outlook of the crests is twisted. The crest
...
he wanted and obtained, the one best for battling, has been considered the worst possible crest. Including this, humanity's knowledge of magic and technology is much worse than Matthias' past life. Matthias discovers this is due to the demon race and he must struggle to right humanity's course.
From this summary, this anime obviously had extreme potential. However, after the first few episodes, the anime barely touches on the pros and cons of the crests. Barely anything is told about 2 of the 4 crests. Basically Matthias' crest seems overpowered, with no obvious weakness in it. The anime has three heroines, but they barely get any character development and honestly if anything they lose character the longer the anime goes on. Halfway through the anime, they're basically just puppets who act amazed at Matthias' power at everything he does.
The enemies themselves, who presumably are centuries old, don't hold a candle to Matthias' might. If anything, they're cannon fodder for his party to level up. The only exception to this is the boss at the end, and he doesn't survive two episodes with Matthias. To make it even worse, they gave the antagonist a story about how hes so powerful he can wipe out humanity and the only reason he hasn't is that he was sealed. The instant he died, he mentions that there are other demons like him. If so, we already know these demons are either going to be the small fries for the next season, or we're just going to get redundant bosses who have been sealed for being too strong... even though Matthias apparently almost wiped the demon race to extinction before reincarnating. There are so many plot holes in this anime its not even worth watching.
