It's realistic in a way that being a dumbass who can't communicate with your partner and choose to emotionally cheat on them instead is "realistic", sure. The movie had potential though it was a bit slow sometimes. Definitely inspired by The Silent Voice in how it's storyboarded but it was lacking at some parts. The writing was extremely weak, it was such an overblown misunderstanding/miscommunication. It's hard to believe that two long term friends, lovers, won't try to reach out to the other party if they're uncomfortable with something. The main character was also written awfully. She was extremely cowardly till the end. Her girlfriend

It's a good fairytale story with a twist. If you read this story thinking that the main character is trans then you're greatly mistaken, and is lowkey homophobic and sexist. Masculine women and lesbian exists, but during that time they just didn't have the words for how they're feeling so "feeling like a man" is the closest they could get. In the end she understand that she is still a woman but just that she can never love a man, hence, by modern definitions, a lesbian.

It's enjoyable for what it is. But it's obvious that the artist doesn't care much about this story and with China's censorship on the rise I don't have much hope for this story to have a more fleshed out plot or narrative. Much less a proper ending.
The art varies too much and it could get jarring. The body shapes are often too masculine because the author is more used to drawing male bodies that it's easy to forget that they're meant to be young women. The faces needs a lot of adjusting to as well. The gags for the most part is great and ... Jul 29, 2019

It's not worthy of an Eisner. Story wise, everything was typical, you can easily guess what would happen next. And this is not me hating on a cliche, a cliche can be good if done right (Ex: How to train your dragon). The main guy character is needlessly abusive and he gets a pass for everything that he does to the main character just because he had a traumatic/sad past. I'm sorry but this only promotes a very bad example for women, that they can change a bad man into an ideal man. How many times have we seen this and how often did it
