As the first proper anime adaptation of a webtoon ( with the exception of the noblesse ova ), I believe supporting it is important if we want to see our favorite web manga turn into anime. However, when it comes to reviewing it, I have to be fair. It seems to have a lot of potential and characters like Rak and Khun are really likeable, but it wasn't nearly as good as it could've been.
In more detail:
-The story's concept leaves space for a lot of world building, but like other aspects of the series, it wasn't done as good as it could've been. The situations
...
the characters find themselves in are indeed entertaining, but not that different from similar anime, so I can't say the story was anything special.
-The animation seems to want to mimic the web comic's art, and it seems to have done a decent job at it. There are a few awkward shots here and there, but it looks nice for the most part and the blend of cg and 2d animation is being done efficiently
-The type of music used for the soundtrack was an interesting choice, but I personally didn't like it much, although it's just a matter of personal taste
-The characters are the anime's strongest aspect. Most of them are likeable and relatable and were the only reason I kept watching after a certain point.

Not nearly as deep and complex as the first one, but it's lighter tone makes it a pleasant watch. Even though many of the elements and themes that made the original stand out are missing, as a stand alone movie it's a decent shonen mecha flick.
In more detail: ( minor spoilers )
- The pacing is faster this time around, which is fitting since there's not as deep of a plot to develop and the main focus is on the action sequences. It's still pretty much a recap of the first fourth of the original series, outside of a few eastereggs and minor scenes.
- The characters
...
are simplified versions of the original ones. This is probably my biggest issue with the movie, because like I said, the reason NGE stood out was because it's broke many shonen stereotypes which we saw being used often in anime. However, in Evangelion 1.0 the characters are not as unique and layered ( I know I keep bringing it up, but this is an aspect of the first to Eva rebuilds that stands out ) and thus more closesly resemble the character archetypes they used to defy. A note worthy flaw for sure, but not big enough to ruin the movie.
- The animation is great, like you would expect from Hideaki Anno. Though NGE's hand drawn animation looked and still looks beutiful, it's still interesting to see Eva being animated with new media like 3d animation.
-The music is also one of the elements that's just as good as the orginal NGE'S. Shiro Sagitsu is one hell of a composer and managed to give us a score that's not dissapointing when compared to the first anime's.
Overall: Evangelion 1.0 doesn't hold a candle to NGE, but it's still quite enjoyable if perceived as a stand-alone movie.

My first impression of Tokyo ghoul was good and showed enough promise for me to keep reading, but as the story progressed, I eventualy realised it was a true work of art.
In more detail: ( Minor spoilers )
-Tokyo Ghoul is heavily inspired by the works of Franz Kafka and it shows. Great use of symbolism ( both verbal and visual ), social commentary and mature elements which fit perfectly within the setting the story takes place. At times, it even becomes surreal. However, the best part comes during the latter half of the series when it becomes more action-packed and the characters show some serious
...
development.
-The characters are the most layered and complex I've seen in media. This is especially true about Ken Kaneki, the protagonist. He starts off as a bland, somewhat likeable type of character, more specificly the kind-hearted dorky kind, ( Serious spoiler ) but his psychological issues and backstory are later revealed to be the reason behind his actions. His inner monogues were my favourite moments of the series and had me on the edge of my seat every time one took place. His personality and views also develop greatly during the series.
- The art is truly a feast for the eyes. Unlike it's sequel ( Tokyo Ghoul: Re ), it stays consistant and does an excellent job of expressing the character's emotions and showing the viewer the scenery in which every scene takes place. Like I mentioned, a great deal of visual symbolism is also being shown.
Tokyo Ghoul is overall, a well constructed story with exceptionaly complex characters, breath-taking art and action sequences that kept me interested and had me reading like no tommorow

I didn't start watching this one with high hopes but it ended up being my favorite anime. The artstyle is stunning, the use of symbolism and visual storytelling instead of exposition is extremely effective.
In more detail: (spoilers)
- The story doesn't really pick up until halfway through the series. Up until that point, the series mostly followed the "villain of the week" method, while dropping small hints for the events that follow. After episode five, I believe was the point where the show started revealing it's true nature. Suddenly, the story stopped following the "rules" and went in a direction I was not expecting, while analysing
...
various philosophical questions. " What does it mean to be human ? "," If God exists, does he care about us ? ", " When a great threat to manking appears, will we unite and fight against it? ". These are all questions I saw being asked in the series. The only real issue I noticed was the pacing, which becomes rushed at times.
-Kiyotaka Oshiyama's art style is as good as ever. It feels like the animators gave it their all and the colour palette really looks beutiful. This becomes apparent especially in demanding scenes like Akira's transformation and the final showdown between him and Satan.
-The soundtrack, although not really my favourite kind of music, gave the series it's own theme and was unique.
- The characters is were the anime mostly relies on and is in my opinion the it's best element. I could go on and on with analysing the dynamics between the characters and the many clashes of ideologies that take place, but I am just going to use Akira Fudo, the main character as an example. He has faith in humanity and during the series, his views are constantly being challenged as he comes face to face with the human's worst elements. Despite that, he still defended them to the very end.
-I didn't mind the use of gore and nudity, but I can understand why it might turn some people off. Personaly, I saw it as a way to get used to the show's cruel nature, but it does seem out of place at times.

Reminds me of a fan-fiction. The characters were all oversimplified, the plot is nothing special and although the fight scenes were decent, I can't really take this movie seriously. Not a fan of this one
In more detail:
- The story was alright, but nothing to ride home about. It also seemed to me like the movie took no risks and played it safe.
- Like I said, the characters are the biggest issue I have with the movie. All the characters were oversimplified and became caricatures of what they are in the original series, but Ichigo's personality in particular was reduced to him screaming "SENNA!" for an
...
hour and a half straight. By the way, senna was generally acceptable
-The soundtrack is a good as you would expect from bleach. It's one of the movie's few redeeming qualities.
- The animation is well... mediocre. It's not bad, but most bleach movie's animation is very bland for some reason, which is a shame when considering the fact that Bleach is widely regarded as one of the anime with the best animation of it's time.
- The fight scenes are decent. Though short, I enjoyed most of them and thus, the movie didn't feel like a waste of time.

The story, characters , animation and soundtrack are almost perfect. The only real issue I have with Lain is that at times it's too confusing/complex and it's easy to lose track of what's going on, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has little patience, but personally I loved it!
In more detail:
- I found the story to be one the most interesting I've seen in an anime in a long time
-The use of 3d animation is excellent, especially considering the fact that Lain was released in 1998
- Lain's psychology is presented exceptionally well, which is a feat that is hard to accomplish, taking into
...
consideration how much her character develops through the series
-The use of symbolism and visual storytelling instead of exposition is really effective, but the show relies on them too much at times, which can cause the viewer to feel confused when it comes to many character's motivations/actions
- The soundtrack is phenomenal
