Maybe it was cause I was expecting a lot of horrific and crazy, messed up plots in this anime and I was just expecting a very "Higurashi/Re:Zero" theme to it. Meaning, overall just very messed up.
But this was not the case, thus why I gave it a 7.
It surprises me though that is is #12 on MAL because in my opinion I don't think it's VERY good. Now hear me out first before you throw fireballs at me. It IS good but not THAT good. Better than average but not to the point where it deserves a high rating.
Elfen Lied is your average anime with
...
some psycho and crazy plots with quite the gore involved, which I enjoy (Hey we all have our weird interests lol).
And though I do try my best to look at the positive aspect of anime I could only find things in the anime to rant about. NOW HEAR ME OUT FIRST BEFORE YOU THROW FIREBALLS AT ME.
I've heard a lot about this anime being known for its craziness, gore, and messed up plots but tbh I didn't really see any of that? I mean there were SOME scenes like the scene with the kids and the dog which actually did mess me up to a point like that shit is pure f*ked-upness wow. And just that whole scene involving that time line was. Wow.
But other than that I didn't see any of the "oh my god. this anime. is. insane." like I got more of that feel from watching Higurashi than watching this. And for those of you who are watching Re:Zero you'll know what I mean. Like what I felt in those anime is what I expected to feel in this anime since so many ppl HIGHLY talk about it being known for that. BUT, unfortunately, I didn't feel any of that.
But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I did. Though there were some plot holes here in there it was overall enjoyable and I would recommend this to ppl but just not in a YOU GOTTA WATCH IT mood.
The ending of it was quite enjoyable since I like that //foreshadowing// mood. Though we were not actually told it was Nyu at the door we can obviously understand that it was. And I kinda liked that.
So maybe it was I was expecting a lot from this anime and I didn't get what I expected is why I'm giving this anime a 7. But doesn't mean you shouldn't watch it. It's a classic and should definitely be watched.
So give it a try and see what you think ;)

It has been awhile since I've written a review but as soon as I finished this anime I knew I definitely needed to write a review expressing my feels.
Absolutely 10/10 this anime!! :3
A must watch and, as of now, probably one of my favorites out of the summer list of anime.
As I was watching the anime I figured to give it a 9/10 but as I became closer to finishing the anime up I gave it a 10/10.
Now there are many reasons as to why I love this anime:
1) The color. The art of this anime is actually what caught my attention. The pastel blue
...
mixed with the gray of their school uniforms and even their hair color. I absolutely love pastel colors so just looking at the poster for this anime drew me in immediately before I even knew what it was about.
2) As you all know from reading the synopsis it revolves around a high school. Now I've never been to public school since I was home schooled growing up but I have been to an all girl's school before. So when there was some girl drama going on in the anime I could relate to it. It was just small things like that, that made me enjoy the anime even more as well as bring up some memories.
3) Feels. Yes. Legit feels. It's anime's like this that pull on my heart strings and not just with romance and all that lovey-dovey doki-dokiness. But with feelings and emotions of relating to other people is what hit me. Especially at that age in high school. It shows the hardships of what comes with going to school as well as giving a glimpse of what happens after high school and boy do I know the feeling. So this is what tug at my feels and it gave a //you never know what life can give vibe. I know it's deep but it's the truth. It's life.
4) The flow. Most anime rush the plot and just shove everything in but this anime didn't. It had a nice flow to it bringing up one story after the next. Like everything was related to each event and it all tied together perfectly.
5) Humor. The amount of perfect humor this anime has is spot on. It's absolutely perfect. How you think it's taking a serious note and then moves on to a humorous point is down right my kinda thing.
6) It's just such a good anime that I feel a lot of young adults can relate too and I find that is a very unique plot that was made in a GOOD manner not like. Rushed and thrown together as most anime do.
Now as much as I did love the anime there are //some// things that bugged me:
1) I bloody hate fillers more than everything but this anime didn't really have any except for one and since I'm sensitive to fillers it really bugged the hell outta me. And honestly the fact that this entire anime was streamed in one go it kinda worried me that if people were watching this one week at a time they would eventually forget about it. And with anime being streamed at least once a week; with that one filler. People can usually loose interest. So I know I strayed from the point but the point actually is. Fillers are bloody annoying but I would love for everyone to watch this anime so it was more like...my concern for the anime's overall success LOL.
2) OK WHERE IS SEASON TWO HONESTLY. I won't put in any spoilers but when you finish this you will demand for a season two, I don't want to explain why since I'm writing this in the negative section of this review but this anime needs a season two. I know that this anime covered about 100 chapters of the manga and there's only like. 130 chapters. So IF there will be a season two it won't be any time soon which bugs the hell out of me because I NEED ANSWERS. <-----seriously not a spoiler. Just watch it and understand. It's the same feel when most anime don't have a season two (I'm staring at those specific anime's you hear me.)
But overall this anime was far by one of my favorite's and I really hope they make a season two and I will definitely read the manga just cause I love it that much.
So I hope you enjoyed this review and if you got to the very bottom of this:
Thank You For Reading!!! <3 ^_^

*CAUTION. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*
When I was about to write this review I was overly shocked on the amount of low reviews this
anime got. I do believe everyone has a different opinion but just. Wow. I didn't think a lot
of people would rate this below 6-7.
But since this is my review I will state my own opinion herein:
Time travel. Mystery. Psychological. Supernatural.
...
Most of all my favorite genres thrown together to create this anime known as Boku dake ga Inai Machi aka Erased in English. So yes I did very much enjoy this anime very much.
The way the story began, jumping right into the main plot with no dragging, and just having
that impact of "shit just got real." I do enjoy the time travel genre when it's not being used
in a cheesy way and it was used in a pretty good way in this anime. The main protagonist
trying to save his friends and putting his friends before himself was a warm hearting feeling.
The artwork was average but it was very enjoyable and added well to the plot. The ost is
what I loved the most, especially the ending like oh my god. I immediately downloaded it
once I heard it. Plus the fact Asian Kung Fu Generation was singing the theme song; the ost was a straight 100/10.
Though there were some holes in the story like with the teacher, Yashiro Gaku were very obvious. Sometimes you would think it would give the "it's too obvious for him to be the culprit." But the fact that it was too obvious can trick the watcher into thinking it wasn't really him who was
attempting to murder the kids. In my case, it was very obvious and I knew from the beginning
once he came into the picture lol.
Of course, this isn't a romance but while watching this anime along the way I really thought
that Satoru and Kayo would end up together in the end after the whole "revival" stuff was fixed
up. But sadly that didn't end up happening which made me a bit sad. Like. All this chemistry
and him wanting to save her and just their cute moments I just wanted them to be together
in the end so I was sad when he woke up and realized she had already married someone
else and had a baby. Tbh I felt like he was disappointed as well when he saw her elope with
someone else. But that's just my opinion. And then, in the end, it has that //hinting. That
he will be with pizza girl: Yuuki. I'm not a sucker for romance but it's just the way I see
things and I take these hints into the understanding of //who the characters will end up with.
It's just how I watch so bear with me lol. But poop. This isn't a romance so I didn't dwell
in it and I figured it would just make the ending cheesy and too //happily every after.
Other than that, I really liked this anime a lot and I was really excited to watch it. It didn't
let me down but it wasn't one of my favorites thus why I ranked it at a 9. I thought it
would have more twists in it but it just stayed mono and stayed at that pace. But it was
still a very enjoyable anime and I recommend it to those who love mystery and the supernatural.
Thank you for reading!
^_^

Well then. That was quite the ova it was.
Tbh I pretty much knew the whole plot and what happens from watching Pewdiepie play
the game and I also knew it some parts were different as well. But omg that had some nasty gore
in it. I can't tolerate gore even though I always watch it (lol) but I swear I was on the verge of
puking a couple of times.
Overall the ova was OKAY I didn't it was that good just cause, its very average for a horror
ova. The typical //everyone is trapped. Must find a way out. People dying. Spirits here and there,
it was
...
just. Very typical. Like you could predict everything that was to happen so it was pretty
meh to me. Plus, like I said, the gore I swear was just. G o d.
But if you like gorey, horror, psycho stuff like this then you should watch it lol.

Aaaahh the feels for this anime, I remember first starting it and was eh about it but once
I picked it up again I instantly fell in love with it.
I love the main character's personalities and the relationship every person has with another. Though it's a romance, it's not one of those romances where everyone is fighting with one another for this guy or this girl. Though, of course, there are characters that have feelings for others it's not like a whole dramatic scene that takes place.
The feels I have for Natsume and Misawa though <333 I ended up falling for a side character relationship
...
rather than the main one itself xD
I really wish they would have made a second season though, I was really looking forward to one would happen after everything but sadly they left it at that :(
But I still enjoyed this anime and it was full of heart strings and cute moments :3
