both are a cute/fun slice of life where a cast of highschool girls start a band together!! Bocchi The Rock is a little more high energy rather than the usually relaxing vibe of K-on, but it gives me the same feeling of hanging out with characters I like being around and just having a good time going on adventures together. The MC, Bocchi, has crippling anxiety, and the characters she meets- from her new friends in Keisoku Band to side characters- all have distinct personalities that make it fun to watch!! One of the things that's made it hard for me to find a new show to watch after K-on was that it, to me, has heart and a genuineness to it that later slice of life usually doesn't, because...well, they're trying to copy K-on! But Bocchi has heart and spirit. The people who made Bocchi the Rock made it because they wanted to make these characters and this story, and it's captured me in the same way K-on did and made me feel that same spark of engagement, with enough of a different *spice* to it that it feels refreshing and exciting. I couldn't recommend it enough.
