As much as I love S;G and am currently enjoying 0 I need some nitpicks out of my chest
Story - 7
The shows start off as a sort of midquel to the events of episode 23 of S;G, the beta attractor field 1.129848% which is fated to be screwed over by World War 3
About 5 months after the murder of Makise Kurisu, Okabe Rintaro (Previously known as The mad scientist Hououin Kyouma) now a fully-fledged normie is suffering from intense PTSD and depression stumbles upon a conference which reveals the creation of Amadeus, a program which emulates memories into A.I conveniently based off one of Makise
...
Kurisu's theory, which apparently already stores her memories.
As of 6 episodes, the story has slightly become dictated by some Deus ex machinas which is my main complaint about it.
Art - 5
Now in general anime standards the art of 0 is decent however coupled with the sub-par directing and a lower amount of funds compared to S;G it currently deserves a mediocre rating
Sound - 8
It contains music and such from the S;G anime, VN and 0's VN which guarantees a high rating although the standalone music in 0 is decent at best and the sounds are pretty generic.
Character - 8
One thing I loved about S;G was that the characters were normal people, 0 continues this trend with the sad scientist and the newbies.
Oher then the overly constant cases of PSTD which causes me to cringe Okabe's current character is well done and is clearly what Okabe would be like in S;G if he wasn't under the cloak of Hououin Kyouma with a spice of depression (Which could be argued he already had). Maho and such aren't too noteworthy currently.
Enjoyment - 6
It seems like the previous 6 episodes were either too bloated or too skipped upon which leads to a lack of satisfaction. The worst parts of the VN are gone so I can see a large improvement in this.
Direction - 5
The art (POV) feels bloated with pointless zooms and the timing of events and such are lacking.
Overall - 7
Overall 0 is a interesting ride with a great story and characters however the problems with the directing seem to cloud my enjoyment of it.
