When I started watching Kyoukai No Kanata I was expecting another typical romance anime, I was caught completely off guard by the first episode and started thinking "where is this going to go from here?", but little did I know that this was going to become a really enjoyable show.
Here I'll sum up the important aspects that were greatly executed and poorly executed.

Story- 7
Overall I really liked the story and how it developed. However, there were some plotholes left behind which made me a little confused, some of these were explained with the movie so overall I found it really enjoyable.

Art and Sound- 10
Here we ... go, this was the main reason I became interested in this anime. This anime delivered breathtaking sceneries mixed together with a beautiful soundtrack to create a work of art. Furthermore, this anime delivered me one of my favorite openings AND endings of all time, these went along perfectly with the show's aesthetic.

Enjoyment- 8
I was really satisfied with this show because it gave me a good romance story mixed with a bit of comedy and a few plot twists and at the end of every episode I was always amazed by some of the things that had happened.

Overall- 8
This show has its upsides and its downsides, very good upsides by giving us stunning art, sound and character development, as well as some bad downsides (which you'll see by watching the show) but not as bad so that they're unwatchable.
I definitely recommend you checking this out and watching the 2nd movie for a more satisfactory ending.
