“You’ll never know how hard to let an introvert to become like an extrovert.” With such a sentence, it summarizes the story of Bocchi the Rock! Hitori or Bocchi, is an extreme introvert, who starts from publishing her guitar-playing videos to joining a band and play. Life is often filled with events, and the joining of Hitori makes her life change.
A short summary for those who don’t want to read long review writing:
Positives (+):
1. Hilarious approach on presenting the characters’ behaviors, such as the Hitori’s psychological world
2. Tons of characters’ facial expressions
3. Refreshing and funny jokes are delivered
4. Personalities and thoughts from both the main characters and supporting
...
cast show a strong contrast in their own respectively
Negatives (-):
1. This anime could have delivered more than slice of life and comedy in order to become a masterpiece
An anime featuring an introvert could be dull and boring, because when you think of the whole 24 mins, you’re just watching a girl being shy and speechless, everyone would just watch chainsaw man instead hahaha… Joking aside, this anime is just good at enlarging the psychological world of an extreme introvert in a more hilarious approach. As an introvert, I can’t stop laughing when watching this anime because I found the jokes making on Hitori are both relatable and enjoyable. Throughout the anime, Hitori is constantly second thinking about what’ll happen after doing a certain behavior, which shows the fear and worries from her social anxiety straight on. However, the show is not being in a serious tone. You can see that there are tons of expressions made by Hitori and other characters as well. Their after-thinking reactions are just pure gold and spice up a lot of comedy throughout the anime.
I think the arrangement of story is also ROCK ON! Because starting from Hitori being an introvert, you can see that the change of her throughout the anime. The jokes are not being dragged too long, as the jokes are constantly refreshed by different kind of character’s behaviors. I recalled other trash slice of life or comedy anime, which are constantly overusing the jokes again and again, like an endless black hole. Seriously? I was about to give up on watching more slice of life anime at that point, but at least now I’m glad that I found Bocchi the Rock to watch. I also like that this anime would suddenly turn ordinary slice of life scenes into something unexpected by putting some eccentric stuffs in the midway, which also makes the whole anime experience a lot more hilarious.
The chemistry of characters is also more interesting than I thought would be. 2 introverts + 2 extroverts counteracting each other as a group of band. Ryou like to stay alone and often think of ideas that are unique on her own. I think Ryou is supportive in the band, but has her own way to do stuffs. Kita, who is a total opposite of Hitori, is really good at socializing. Throughout the anime, Kita shines and is more attractive than anyone else in the band. She is also the main source of influence that brings Hitori out of the world of social anxiety. Nijika is the organizer of the band. She is cheerful, outgoing and determined to lead the band to success, but not as attractive as Kita.
The supporting characters are also functional in the anime. Nijika’s older sister, who is the manager of the livehouse, is a major back support of the band. She uses her experience and skills to help the band to become more thrive. PA-San is just another random character happen in the show, but she also gives a major push to Hitori in order to build up her confidence. However, there are characters that act as a discouragement on Hitori. Guess who they are? The answer is Hitori’s family members. They often make fun of Hitori’s social anxiety and don’t believe Hitori would have friends and getting out of social anxiety. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean Hitori is born in a depressing family. Instead, it’s just her family members don’t believe she can change at the beginning in general, but afterall they will still support Hitori on stage.
As you can see, the characters come in pairs of contrast:
Main characters: Introverts vs extroverts
Supporting characters: Believe in Hitori vs don’t believe in Hitori
The characters all have their own behaviors and thoughts, which make the whole anime has a strong contradiction profile to it. This creates the rigid foundation on the character development, enjoyment and the slice of life story.
Bocchi the Rock is indeed very close to being a masterpiece in my opinion, but I think the story should deliver more than staying inside the comfort zone of slice of life and comedy genres. I notice the characters’ backstories, such as the formation of the band, could be part of the emotional story in the anime. Sadly, this part doesn’t develop much in the anime. It would have been a masterpiece and can be more comparable to the top tier of slice of life anime if more emotional stories can be added.
Besides the number of funny character expressions, the animation and the use of various media is another highlight on stage. Many different kinds of animation styles, such as the use of real-life CG, are used to spice up the anime. It’s pretty rare to see such utilization of mixed media, as most animation style seen in anime is just monotonic without much variation, which is just only one animation style applied throughout the anime.
The music performances are also pretty well done in the anime. There are solo performances and group performances in different stages of the anime, showing the progress of being a successful band. Voice actors are also doing their job well in fitting the characters’ personalities.
At last, I really enjoyed Bocchi the Rock. Many people compare this anime with other music and slice of life anime, but I think Bocchi the Rock is pretty unique on its own, since the strong contrast of the characters, the jokes built from the characters and the unique usage of animation techniques are definitely the exclusive highlights in this anime season.

TL;DR: A non-solid adaption on a potential story
There are three character arcs in total. Natsumi, Origami and Shido. The good news is there's not much fanservice in major character arc, but sadly the story is not delivered properly. The art and the animation is a joke, we will discuss these one by one.
Natsumi arc
I’ll cut this straight. The story focus too much on the guessing game, rather than the character itself. I have quite a bit of enjoyment with Natsumi. However, there are not much description on reasons behind this. The introduction is also pretty brief and rushed. It's quite briefly mentioned and requires more
...
effort on it. This arc feel cliche, as it follows the stereotype DAL storytelling (Shido meets the spirit-> spirit refuses and trigger chaos -> Shido tries to rescue her -> The spirit accept and ends). At the end, Natsumi is just another DAL member. I can't really have any feelings on her sadly.
Origami arc
This is the most important part on DAL S3. It attempts to connect s3 events with previous story. I can feel the struggles and pain that Origami has to suffer and I can also have a better image on the DAL setting. Besides Origami, I can also learn more about the possible future events and the character intentions, such as Kurumi.
Most scenes are well adapted and able to cover the main ideas. What it's lacking of is the highlights on emotional events and backstory details, which cause the story not strong enough to trigger audience reactions. I appreciate the efforts on this arc, but sadly there's not much touching moment.
Shido arc
This is just a fanservice arc to please fans at the last episode. It's like an OVA, showing spirits’ love on Shido, but pretty unnecessary.
Overall Story Structure and Character development
Weak, rushed and the events are not well explained. The main characters, like Shido, have barely developed in this season, it's just trying to finish arcs in a brief way. There are no transition between arcs, it just pretend to finish events and start new events on the same timeline, so that the story can move quickly. More efforts are needed on character development and decription to convince audience.
The character interaction may fun to look at, but may only work occasionally, if it's not cliche.
Art, sound and animation
Poor frame control and rough animation. Wrecked facial drawings can be observed easily. The colour visuals look dull, plain and boring, make it unattractive to look at. Even in op and ed, the animation and art are as poor as the one in most parts of the show. Occasionally, there are some pretty cute character close-up pics, but not too much can be mentioned.
Sound effects and bgm can be noticed, but sometimes pretty unnecessary and not remarkable. Op by Sweet Arms arand ed are good to hear like the previous season.
Recommended or not?
Perhaps if you treat this as a quick checkup on afterward DAL story events, you will have better enjoyment. Don’t put too much expectations on it, treat this as a brief checkup, it might give you some interest on the series.

I watched this movie because I wanted to see further development on this series and hoping it can do better on the story and character aspect. However, none of these ever happened, but instead it continues the flaws of the original series, which makes this movie awful to watch.
+crazy tank moments
+good animation
+good sound effects
-Not much emotional moments as the previous anime series
-the tanks are in chaos and hard to follow
-too many characters, hard to grow on them
-the result can be easily predicted
...
-insufficient bgm and soundtracks
This movie is split into three parts, two parts are tank battles, which occupied most of the movie duration, while only a small part that it was put into its actual story and characters, which is already a major problem for lacking of character and story development.
If you have watched the previous anime series before, this series is suffered from characters always win in major moments.Well, this movie is also in the same case,so it's very predictable.Even without seeing the lengthy battle,I have already known the result.
Speaking of the tank battles, sometimes it's kinda hilarious with crazy tanks moving in impossible ways, which gives me some laughters.Other time,it's very difficult to follow, since it's in a chaotic situation for most of the time with weird camera angles and transitions. Thus, the information provided about the battlefield and the situation is very insufficient. They're even lazy to provide a map to reflect the actual situation of the battle, the attacking pace is fast and rough, which make things more hard to follow. It seems like I'm blind while watching the characters messing around with tanks, without knowing where the tanks are and where the enemies are.
Like the previous anime series, this movie has many characters,it is also trying to bring more new characters to the film. However, unlike the previous anime series, which has certain amount of time to describe the characters. In this film, you'll know nearly nothing about them,as most of the time are just tank battle fanservice. This film also failed in focusing certain main characters. In tank battles, each character's screentime is split in order to reflect the tank battles. It's hard for me to grow on the characters, especially for the new characters.
The emotional moment, which only occupied only a little duration of the film,is very sudden, without any sort of cliffhanger or any clear explanations.Although it reflects the friendship of the characters,it's like the characters suddenly change their own standpoints. Therefore,it's also hard for me to feel glad or touched for the main characters.
On the animation and sound aspects, although sometime it suffered from poor camera transitions, the skills and techniques used are pretty cool and can be really fun with crazy tank moments,so it's good in general. Some realistic tank sound effects with launching bullets are there, pretty awesome. If it can use more colour visuals and insert more bgms and soundtracks,it'll be better.
Though there're some good features about the film, like the animation and sound effects of the tanks, they don't redeem the movie much from the horrible storytelling and character development with lengthy tank battling.Unless you're a tank lover or into these kind of intense battles, there're not many things worthy to get from this film.If you're expecting a more emotional show than the previous one, then this may let you down and feel disappointed.

TL;DR: Risking itself in doing multiple tasks, but it turns out becoming an anime that you can't miss out!!!
I remembered the days I was watching shounen anime and most of them are often really shallow and repetitive, I know someone may disagree with my point of view, but most shounen anime doesn't really impress me much, as main characters are being ignored and they just focus on one or two characters, the storytelling is even most likely omitted, they just focus on one theme then all episodes are all similar, which is really boring to me. I really want to try to find a good
...
shounen anime, but I can't.
Cells at work, on the other hand, is really impressive. It has satisfied me more than I expected. This is not really a typical educational anime, which each episode is the narrator talking about how each cell functions in different circumstances. They're all inserted with different personalities and the varieties of this show has become one of the main features of this anime.
+Many character varieties
+Many story elements (comedy, shounen, passions)
+being educational in an interesting way
-Perhaps some episodes need more explanations
-Due to its varieties, viewers may not enjoy it entirely
Generally, the characters have many varieties, we have red blood cell, who is acting like clumsy, she seems to be very useless in most situations and requires help from others. White blood cell, which seems to be the one who is very helpful and energetic and able to know clearly how the body works. These are just two examples from the anime and I can already write a few sentences about them. You can see that each character is being organised thoroughly to fit into the personification. You might ask about that will there be any inconsistencies with its educational theme? I can tell you the answer is clearly no. Each character is still referring to their functions according to Biology, they are just being added some flavours to become more interesting to look at and I can say that it's not easy to do that. It's indeed really risky to do two tasks at the same time, but cells at work has nailed it at the end.
Furthermore, some characters even have a whole episode to talk about their past events, while being educational. For instance, there's an episode about red blood cell and white blood cell being taught by Macrophage, how they face the obstacles and challenges among bacteria. Most shounen anime are unable to do that, they just focus solely on their themes, like Food Wars, which is about Souma cooking dishes and facing obstacles. It's entertaining enough for people who like insane cooking challenges, but what about people who don't? What about for people looking for an interesting story? It's kinda questionable in my opinion (you can refer to my previous review for more details), but cells at work can do so. Each episode has shown enough character personalities and stories, while being educational in a comedic way. It doesn't really solely focus on its educational values, but focus on many other aspects as well, clearly the writers have put many efforts in this anime. Hence, it's more enjoyable in my opinion.
Perhaps in some situations, I think some episodes that Cells at work needs more elaboration, like the episode about fever, the problem hasn't fully solved yet, but it ends up in a rush and moving on to the next disease, maybe because of the episode limit. Also, as it has many varieties to offer, viewers may not enjoy all the elements that this anime offered due to their preferences. However, I think at the end at least you will get something enjoyable apart from its educational values and I think this is a kind of anime that everyone would enjoy watching it.
The animation is in a simple style and it's crafted perfectly to fit into the main theme. Maybe if more colour visuals are used, it'd be more better. Voice actors are great, here we have Hanazawa Kana, voiced as Red Blood cell and platelet voiced by Naganawa Maria, which is the voice actor that has also voiced as Kanna from Dragon Maid and they all fit into the characters well. Sound effects are used in many scenes. The op by characters and the ed by ClariS are also very great to listen as well.

TL;DR: Built on an unrealistic setting, but turns out pretty well
People usually have different perspectives on a subject whether this is right or wrong, good or bad? In Happy Sugar Life, this subject of matter is greatly reflected, whether in the anime community or inside the story. Generally speaking, people think this anime is trying to hard to be edgy. However, this anime isn't a straight edgy anime, which gives you a lot of death or violent scenes. This anime is kinda dark in another way around on the characters conflicts and the atmosphere, which is better than most dark anime in my opinion.
+Great
...
character interactions
+Descriptive character stories
+Interesting story followed by mysteries
+The atmosphere is kinda well-built
-Slow paced
-the plot is built on an unrealistic setting
To begin with, this story is built on an unrealistic setting, which may bother someone around. Like "Satou love a little girl called Shio and Satou's aunt is sick", but let me tell you, this anime is intended to be like this because it's supposed to be a dark anime and like I mentioned just now, this anime is better than most dark anime, because Happy Sugar Life isn't built on death scenes. If you are sick with dark anime, which gives you violent scenes directly. This is an anime for you, so why would Happy Sugar Life being called as a dark anime? This is because the atmosphere is built on characters solely. The relationship built up is based on some wrong perspectives or past events. The reason why Satou like Shio and they love each other is mainly because of their tragic stories and they found their own love, although in general public we think they're definitely wrong, but I think this is what the writer want to reflect on. This anime doesn't need many violent scenes, as it's already more than enough.
The characters' stories are presented pretty perfectly, it explains well on their tragic events about their childhood and why would the main characters conclude with this kind of relationship from the scratch till the ending. Including the side characters, they all have their own aims and thoughts, which lately on resulting in large conflicts and it's pretty amazing. The inner feelings of the characters are done really well, like they asked themselves whether this kind of action is right or not. It's pretty interesting. For those who hate dark twisting anime in general, they wouldn't appreciate this anime in this kind of way, as they already dislike the setting in general, so you should consider on your preference whether you would accept this kind of storytelling or not.
The only issue I have in this anime is it's kinda slow-paced, as it solely focus on the characters, the plot doesn't really move, it can be the whole episode talking about characters' inner feelings and past events, while the present events don't really move a lot, which someone may feel bored occasionally for people who are looking for thrilling events, but it doesn't affect much to the storytelling, as I generally enjoy what I have watched from Happy Sugar Life.
In short, Happy Sugar Life isn't a typical dark anime, it's a dark anime built on characters relationships, what this anime is lacking of is the pace control, which I think personally this anime could insert more story events, but if thinking from the characters aspect, this anime has already done more than enough. The journey is enjoyable and interesting.
I think the animation is done pretty great, it fits the dark elements pretty well with gloomy textures and shadowing, but the character designs look kinda identical, same eyes drawings, similar face shapes, maybe it's because of the authors' style preferences, but personally I think they could make it a little bit different, so that each character looks more unique. The sound effects are done pretty good, many background music and sound effects are used. Though, I think they could insert more throughout the scenes and events. The op and ed gives me the feeling of the dark atmosphere, which are pretty well-themed. Voice actors are pretty awesome too, Hanazawa Kana is in this anime voicing as Satou, which anime fans can't miss this out.
If you are sick of the ordinary dark anime, this is a refreshing option to you, but if you dislike dark anime in general, you shouldn't consider this anime, because this anime is built on an unrealistic setting that you may bother with. Whether you agree with my points or not, it's up to you, but I just want to tell you that this anime is great in my opinion, that's all.

TL;DR: An anime that barely connects its mysteries to develop a romance
While Island is trying to be one of the remarkable romance, mystery anime, the outcomes are pretty unsatisfactory, as it barely connects the mysteries around and develops a romance story. I would say Island is an average show, but can't be considered as a masterpiece, as it can have a better story presentation, rather than things I just saw in the anime.
+Kinda dense mystery elements
+It can be considered as a complete story at the end
+Colourful animation
+The bond between main protagonists is presented
+Usage of soundtrack and music are pretty cool
-Bland characters, especially
...
for side characters
-Strange story pace
-The characters designs are pretty much similar
To begin with, people considered Island as a fan-service anime, but at the end, you'll be shocked or confused to realise that it's not really the case, as at the end, you will need to figure out the mysteries settled by the settings and most likely you may need to compare the story differences and try to figure what Island is trying to present. I think most people who watch Island in seasonal would have this kind of issue, as the story pace is rather strange and may suddenly have plot elements that you wouldn't expect and may even misunderstanding the ideas of Island, like considering it is just a harem anime or a fan-service anime.I could understand why people think like that, as at first, Island is really like a fan-service anime with many unnecessary fan-service or comedy elements. This is a really common error in most anime that they should present the story in a better way, rather than just rush it at the end, anime fans wouldn't be impressed even the ending is a good ending or bad ending, as in general the story is really feeling bland and the characters are easily forgettable.
Speaking of anime characters, although Island tries to focus on the bond between Rinne and Setsuna at first, the efforts are ruined because of the plot twists. This is kinda strange to say that because plot twists usually contribute well to the story, but in fact plot twists are too late to be developed and there's not much character development because of the poor story presentation, like the strange story pace in this anime. Side characters like Karen and Sara are even more bland because in Island, it's either they're acting like a harem character or it just a minor character that barely contribute to the plot and at the end, I don't really know what the side characters are doing to be honest, they're just really bland and lame.
In a nutshell, Island is really trying to bring out a refreshing romance mystery anime, together with the desire that the main characters want to love each other with a few plot twists, but turns out pretty bad due to a poor story presentation. It's really disappointing that with such great potential, Island could be a great visual novel adaptation, but it ends up like important plot elements are packed and rushed at the end and fan-service is placed in the beginning, like a harem anime.
At the end, let's talk about the animation and sound usage. Well, Island does have kinda good animation, like the visuals used in the Island, the sunlight reflected on the clear sea water, but the character designs are looking too similar, same eye and face shape for female characters, they just change the hairstyle and the colours, others are looking the same if you realise that. Great and nice opening and ending songs, soundtracks and background music are used pretty well, they're kinda fit into the atmosphere. Sadly, this is the one only aspect I think Island is doing great.
For those who are considering to watch this, either you watch other anime or you should consider whether you'd enjoy a dense and packed romance and mystery anime or not.

With so many people thinking that Madoka Magica brings a great impact to the dark Mahou shoujo anime,Madoka Magica doesn't really feel that great to me.It tries too hard to explain its settings and it doesn't really feel emotional. At the end,I only think that Madoka Magica is an endless "game" with characters involved, but nothing more.It feels lame and hard to let me feel emotional.
+the atmosphere fits the story
+kinda interesting story premise
+pays effort on explaining settings
+Characters do have their backstories
-Tries too hard in explaining settings
-predictable
-Characters feel lame
...
-Hardly feel emotional to me
-Doesn't really have good visuals
-ed is too rocky
*spoiler alert*
The whole idea of Madoka Magica is to balance the universe, trying to use the energy of shoujo from their emotional gap between hope and desperation. They send Kyuubey to "bait" the characters, giving them an ability to make a wish, but they need to become Mahou shoujo in return.
With such story premise,it feels interesting and it also have a dark tension in it,but unfortunately,I can't really grow up on the characters as they seemed to be baited by kyuubey, they don't really deserve my likings.Although each character seems to have their own backstories and their own wishes, they're just like characters in a bait game.Sayaka becomes Mahou shoujo is because of her crush, she's so naive and stubborn.Homura becomes Mahou shoujo because of the friendship with Madoka.Mami's reason is unknown.Madoka's reason at the end is because of saving the world.Kyouko's reason is because of her family.Kyouko and Homura do tried to save Sayaka, but she never listen, like other people, which this is the way to keep the cycle running.Get baited then regretted then trying to save others but they don't listen. In this process, more girls will get baited as well due to emotions or other dumb reasons.People feel emotional because of the events of the characters, but I hardly do so,because they feel dumb, stubborn and lame to me.
Moreover, the ending is indeed feel rushed, there's no reason why Madoka become Mahou shoujo in the first place at the very starting point. What wish did she make? Why did she become mahou shoujo at the first place? These never really explained.Although Mami's death does seem to have a purpose to the story, her story doesn't really explained. However, the writer decided to continue to build on this seemingly interesting premise and let it running.Characters feel emotional to others, then become mahou shoujo, which eventually her friend motivated to do so as well,it's an endless dark cycle game. The whole idea do feel interesting, but fails on it at the same time due to rushed ending and its storyline. At the end,I don't really feel satisfied on what I get from Madoka Magica.
In addition, this leads to the story become predictable. With all the dumb characters that joined into the game,it's pretty obvious that Madoka is the main purpose of the anime and she'll save the universe. This isn't really surprising.
Animation and sound does give me some dark atmosphere, but it isn't considered as great. Some evil enemies do feel like from paper cut and there isn't really have much colourful visuals in the anime. There are background music and sound effects, but doesn't really attractive,ed is too rocky for me and doesn't fit into the depressing game. The op by clariS is pretty good though.
For me,Madoka Magica is a Mahou shoujo game built up with an absurd story premise that seems to be interesting. It tries too hard in explaining the facts and the characters, but failed into deliver a remarkable story with such idea.I do see the efforts by the writers, but it doesn't really deserve my likings at the end unfortunately.

Adapted from a manga series,Comic Girls surely tries to bring the pain and struggle of the manga Industry into an anime, together with its own style.Although keeping its own style is important, they should also consider whether it'd be a great idea from a general anime perspective.By now,it somehow shows its uniqueness, but doesn't feature Comic Girls really well.
+good opening and ending song
+diversified characters' personalities
+Hilarious and crazy characters' actions
+nice character reactions
+Ending summed up the story
-it feels episodic
-Bad story premise
...
-story feels shattered because characters work on their own
-repetitive or overused ideas
-undeveloped characters
-poor transitions
At my first glance,I was really excited about Comic Girls,I saw cute girls, beautiful visuals with characters with different personalities,I also received servals laughters too. With such a great start,Comic Girls could be potential. However,it starts to get lame and boring later on,which I couldn't grow on the characters or the story anymore.
The main problem of Comic Girls is its presentation. At first,I was supposed that the characters in Comic Girls are working together, but in fact, they're just working on their own.Although sometimes they managed to help each other,at the end the main focus would be just onto one or two characters. Therefore, there're not much remarkable character interactions. Moreover,The story feels extremely inconsistent. It feels episodic, each episode doesn't have any sort of relationship towards others, many weird transitions all over the place.Sometimes,it has comedy moments, but then it suddenly jumps to emotional moments. In other time,it seems to be concentrated on one character, but then it talks about another character, which seems the story is going to nowhere and I don't know what exactly Comic Girls wants to express through each episode.
In addition, the character development doesn't seem to be good.Although each girl has their own personality, they feel pretty unrealistic and undeveloped. The setting that a bunch of highschool girls that are manga authors as well is a poor story premise for a slice of life anime,as this would be very unlikely happened in reality from a general perspective. In addition, there are also several unrealistic moments in Comic Girls as well. For example, teacher suddenly drags a student out of the classroom and said to him,I like your drawing. It feels very weird and abnormal.Apart from the characters just working on their own,the main storyline is just Kaos improving on her work.Other time, other main characters are just supporting cast, while only a few moments focusing on them.At the end,I just grew on a little on Kaos, but not for the others.
I find that the comedy delivered to me is kinda funny and boring at the same time.At first,I get a lot of laughters because of the hilarious and crazy characters' reactions.Unfortunately,by the more episodes you have watched,it will become lame and flat,as ideas are becoming repetitive and overused.Characters feel jealous about other characters' boob size, scared of things and being sleepy during classes,it feels cliche, repetitive and boring,so overall the comedy offered in this show is unsatisfactory. If the comedy and ideas used in the show are refreshing and new,it'll be more interesting.Sadly,it doesn't happen in Comic Girls.
After a long and rough ride,I finally come to the ending. The good news is that Comic Girls somehow manages to summarise the story events and the story ending is quite fine for a slice of life anime.
Finally, let's talk about the animation and the sound in this show.I'm kind of impressed with the animation in this show. Colourful visuals are used and cute moments in a comic style, looks original and nice, together with different cute character reactions. It is kinda nice, but if more visuals are used on the background would be better.Voice actors are trying to play their roles well, opening and ending are nice and interesting with its own style.I noticed some background music and soundtracks in this show, but if there're more of them used in the show,it'll be greater.
Unless you're in a similar position as the character, you probably won't able to get much enjoyment from this show.Although Comic Girls tries to attempt a great story with hilarious moments,it feels like a total mess and a failed work at the end, except for the ending. Therefore, many improvements and efforts are needed in order to develop a better and an amusing slice of life, comedy anime.
I used to love slice of life and comedy anime, but not this one apparently.

TL;DR:A combination of mysteries and romance,a nice mixture indeed
People are refused to watch this show by judging the show from the beginning, saying that it's a rip-off Tokyo Ghoul,Twilight and containing a heavy amount of fan-service,but however I come to realise that this show is not that shallow,it eventually turns out pretty well and worth to expect.
+Overall it feels realistic
+some of the actions are pretty good
+dark atmosphere is presented well
+the conflicts are described pretty well
+strong voice actors base
+It's later revealed that there're some mysteries behind the incident
...
-Rich story content, but the story presentation can be improved
-characters can be described more, like the round-eye girl, named Tsukasa
-inadequate soundtracks
In general,Devils Line can be summed up within two subjects.
1. The romance among the main characters,Tsukasa and Anzai.
2. Conflicts among the vampires themselves and the relationship between humans and vampires
-The romance
Romance is probably one of the most exciting things in life, probably Tsukasa has the same feeling and she's a kinda shy type of person, who don't have much ideas about vampires and Anzai.Generally, people saying that the romance scenes are kinda awkward, but I think it's kinda realistic, since to a young-hearted girl, who don't have much experience in facing romance,it's pretty sure that she'll feel kinda nervous, like the scenes from the show,so I expected she don't have much feelings during romance moments. In fact,I feel the another way around, which I feel they're kinda realistic.
Among the events happened, the bond between Anzai and Tsukasa become stronger. They wanted to protect each other in several dangerous situations at all costs even though they're being restricted.
The romance is pretty well made and exciting,it doesn't conflict with the events happened and it developed through with the mysteries (which I will go through this later)
-Conflicts
In Devils Line, humans may have bad feelings about vampires, since they can't control themselves when they see blood and may destroy people's life.Others may understand their needs and provide their needs, different people have different opinions about vampires in this show.On the other hand, vampires themselves also know some people have bad impression to them and feel worried, yet for Anzai,he's in love with Tsukasa,a human girl, which is pretty sure will have large conflicts among them. These are the features that this show has to offer.
It's later revealed that there're several mysteries about the settings itself,Anzai's co-workers and his past,(Who's controlling behind the scenes? What's Anzai's real character?),which I'm not going to spoil them, since it's relatively interesting and can't be explained in short. All I can say that it's very entertaining to resolve these questions one by one, especially for mystery anime fans.Devils Line did tried to explain the questions one by one throughout events and romance,an interesting combination indeed. In a nutshell,Devils Line surely has great character and story development, especially on Anzai.I'm surely that you'll find certain amount of enjoyment.
My personal opinions on the endings are pretty positive, although some people may find it unsatisfying,it does feel logical and realistic and I didn't find the ending bad, though it could be better if the mysteries can be resolved more completely at the end.
There're a few things I do think Devils Line can do better, like the story presentation.Although I just mentioned that Devils Line has lots of things to offer,it's in a relatively fast pace in several moments, probably because of the episode limit,it has to be done quickly. Also,at the end, though throughout events, the relationship between Tsukasa and Anzai developed well,I do think that Tsukasa isn't developed pretty well, especially about her personal past and her feelings about vampires before.
The animation and sound are fine in this show. The colour visuals are well made in this show, this show is pretty good in portraying the dark scenes, but it'll be better if some of the actions can be done smoothly, rather than in a weird slow motion. They have a strong voice actors base, which is awesome for voice actors fans, but they don't have put much efforts on soundtracks, the amount of soundtracks in this show is pretty insufficient.Op and Ed are fine though.
I could say that Devils Line isn't a masterpiece, but it did well in many aspects and satisfying the romance, mystery anime fans.Do give it a try for at least finishing half of the whole series and don't judge the book by its cover.Perhaps at the end,you maybe appreciated with this series.

TL;DR:A burning candle that shines brightly at first, but blow itself up shortly later on
In general,Kono suba is like a burning candle that shines brightly,it has an unique setting, great characters and quite eye-catching visuals, which could grab your first insight easily. At the beginning of this anime,it's a very refreshing experience,a main protagonist, called Kazume died in an unusual, hilarious way, which he brought a stupid goddess named Aqua, who always think herself is powerful,to another fantasy world afterwards.
In the later story,Kazume and aqua met another two other girls, who are named Megumin and Darkness.Megumin is a cute little girl, who could only use explosive magic once per daily only,as this requires a lot
...
of energy, while Darkness is a knight, who prefer going in the frontline and take the defence position, however she always having an ecchi mind in her head. The characters are pretty unique and interesting, they all have pretty good looking too.
As you can see,the settings are enough for you to catch your attention and you could imagine the hilarious moments from this anime,so why I'm rating this as average, but not a relatively high score?
The reason is very simple, the comedy itself will turn out flat and repetitive later on.The weaknesses from all three girls are being used as comedy in the story in multiple times in different missions throughout the story and it turns out flat and boring easily.
*spoiler for the first comedy*
In the first mission,Aqua is being dumb and think herself is a powerful goddess, and literally nearly being eaten by a frog.Megumin is also being dumb as well, who don't know about her weaknesses of her spell and again nearly being eaten by a frog and requires Katzume for help.Aqua then screaming and yelling for all those things happened.
*End spoiler*
Many similar story and character tropes will be used throughout different events. If you're okay with that, then I'm sure that you'll enjoy this show a lot,but if you're the opposite, then you'd probably will be in the opposite. This is a show that you either love it very much or you'll get bored later on.
I expect that Kono Suba will actually have more varieties on the story itself and the characters, but in fact it doesn't.Due to the fact that the main trope is about characters dumbness and weaknesses,I can only remember the negatives of the characters, which makes me feel that the characters are pretty unrecognisable ironically. It'd be nice to see more about the characters, like their past and their backstories, but unfortunately none of them are being shown.
The story itself could be better by replacing them with different events, rather than just doing missions all the time.In fact,in Kono Suba, the events happened are mainly just for earning livings and improve their lives. These are the factors, which are the additions to the flat comedy story in my opinion.
Well,on the bright side, the settings are described pretty well, the characters are pretty unique and it's somehow a fine adventure story,so I won't say Kono Suba is too bad.If you're a simple person, who wants some comedy on an adventure theme, this is a fine show for you.
Colour visuals are well used in several environments and events, but could be better if there're more varieties in different conversations and situations.Character designs are great as mentioned above.Op and ed are attractive and nice to hear, but if there're more sound effects used in this anime,it'll be better.
