As Thomas Hobbes wrote in his seminal work Leviathan, human life is nasty brutish and short. Something that Kanojo mo Kanojo has contributed to in my life.
Kanojo mo Kanojo's comedic sense can best be surmised as being infantile, volume based and nonsensicle. To the point where I had a headache by the time I had finished watching an episode. Both the humour and storyline are so devoid of enjoyment and plot that watching every episode genuinely felt like a chore.
The characterisation is completely told and not developed at all through the actions of any people there. There are those that argue that this is alright

Peach Boy Riverside has all the makings of an anime that would be pretty decent, in that it has likable characters, an interesting hook and a solid plot progression. However, the anime adaptation stumbles in quite a few areas, the most obvious being the decision to skip past the backstory and set-up through telling the story non-chronologically.
Non-Chronological storytelling is most certainly a valid technique, and is beneficial for many shows especially more episodic ones. In this particular case however, it ends up cofusing an otherwise simple and enjoyable plot by withholding important chracter information. I don't understand how people are writing reviews thinking this show is completely serious when it's a pretty on the nose parody of VR games as a concept with direct parallels to Sword Art Online.
Saying that the characters make horrible mistakes or that plot points don't make sense is missing the point of the Parody. This would be like lambasting Madoka magica for it's somewhat weird explanation of why magical girls exist. Or blaming Konosuba for the failings of the party on their quest to kill the demon lord. Too many people are missing the point of Fulldive, it's by no means a masterpiece ... |
