To be clear to anyone looking to find this (nearly 20 years out of print) book, this is heavily reliant on the reader knowing about and understanding Comic Party, be that the Anime, VN, or manga, that story introduces the characters far better than this one will at any point.
Ultimately, though, this story feels like a project you might do in a creative writing class. Each story falls along a vague point in time after the previous story, written by a different author. Effectively, this is officially sanctioned fanfic, which is appropriate for the spirit of Comic Party as a franchise. A symptom of this

PSO2 New Genesis: Central!

add
This is probably a foolish thing to say, but this webcomic is entirely for people who already enjoy Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. A large portion of the chapters are about in-universe characters reacting to updates to the game, with a handful of running gags and comments on player behavior that seems really weird if you look at it from the perspective of it being real to said characters, like, why are our heroes going into battle with Body Pillows and fake mustaches? Where does the rare drop sound come from? what even IS a grinder?
Ultimately, your entire enjoyment of this series boils down ... Jun 18, 2024

What the hell happened toward the end there? Okay, backing up. This started as a cute show with fun references to a variety of Japanese media, fun characters and some actually interesting tidbits about 90's tech and the workflow that came from it. And then it hits episode 10-11, just takes a massive left turn and goes into some weird nonsense. I don't get it, and it bothers me. At the start I was having a lot of fun, the dialogue and references were both cute, but the last few episodes came with some aliens and... The Matrix? Truly a twist for the ages, I'm

The Premise of this story is definitely one a large number of people can resonate with. A desire to go back and get involved with the heroes you look up to, chase dreams you were too scared to before. In that sense, it seems pretty clear that this series fills something of a power fantasy.
The first few episodes do very little to challenge that notion. The main character comes off as a pretty typical visual novel type of protag, from his calm demeanor to his slightly shaggy brown hair, to his somewhat non-specific character flaw of pessimism in the first episode, he's very easy to ... This show is Unabashedly goofy, and I love it for that. It initially presents as though it's going to have real-robot tone, but then swerves hard into classic Super Robot territory and makes it gay, and that's an A+ in my book. The humor, while a little crude, is hilarious. The drama had me tearing up at a couple points. If you're already a fan of mecha, and aren't afraid of a good, humorous time, you will love this show.
Frankly the show defies description. It plays a lot of the usual "super robot" tropes pretty straight a lot of the time, what with evil aliens, ... Apr 24, 2024
Inishie Otaku no Koiwazurai

Reading this Manga as an American Otaku from the early 2000's has a strange sense of relatability that is definitely stronger to Japanese readers born in the 90's, but the setting and familiarity of the situation is neither here nor there when comes to this romance series. The real juicy part is the DRAMA. The main character's Otaku side is almost like a superhero secret identity, and I'm a sucker for secret identity plots. The character dialogue, motivations, and dynamics are all masterfully done. I read the first volume only an hour after I started it and then I had to wait for Volume 2
