The artstyle is remarkably similar, as they are not made by the same studio. Both series focus on a group of 5 girls and their day to day life. Basically its cute girls doing cute stuff. Also they center around music even though it doesn't take that much part in every episode. The setting is very different, K-On! being a high school setting and, Sora no Woto have a Sci-Fi/Military setting.

These series share the same base concept, being trapped in a MMORPG. In both they use game mechanics, for battle, making food, HP/lifebar etc. Other then that they do differ quite a lot. In SAO the players mind is simply trapped in the game not being able to log out. But in Log Horizon the players seems to be in the world they used to play on they're computers for unknown reason. But if you want more of the genre check out the other.

These are slice of life school, romance/comedies. In both we follow a relatively normal boy that moves into a dorm/house filled with "lunatics" Making it feel very similar. Even though, Sakurasou is much more drama based, ups and down that give good character development. Also having more episodes to do so, and Kawaisou mainly focuses on comedy all through.

Slice of life/Romance series that deal with love in all different forms. They feel quite real and realistic considering they both have supernatural elements. There's good character development in both with each own interesting story. Both series are quite emotional, also with cute, happy and comical moments. They give of very much the same feeling.

Same base setting, The human race is on the brink of extinction by creatures they know close to nothing about. After a long time with peace the humans have to yet again battle these monsters. Similar in both there is lots of mystery around the creatures, where they came from, why they are attacking and what do they want, if they want anything. In both shows there's lots of good action scenes, plot twists you did not expect and really epic soundtrack in my opinion. Don't let the 3D-CGI animation stop you from watching it, give it a try. You will have to get used to it a bit either way. You could miss out on one good story.
