One of the best by far. It's a shame that this isn't as popular as it should be because oh my god. This such an amazing read. So unexpected too. The characters are easy to like. The story is very strong and well thought out. you can tell that the creator was very passionate about this. Art style isn't Berserk gorgeous, but it works very well to portray emotion, and boy does this story have emotion.
I myself have times where I can be really cynical or biased, and I came into this series after it being recommend it to me, very cynical. Expecting the usual ... main character tropes and story line. I am glad to say that I was pleasantly disappointed. I sometimes wished that the story was longer, Holyland is one of those things that you wish you could forget just to read it all over again.

This is most definitely not for the light of heart. Seriously, you have to come into this with a mind of steel o something. But overall, it is one of the best manga I've read thus far. Panel art is beyond beautiful, I love it when you can tell when a mangaka is truly passionate about their work. Characters are easy to like, and the lore is almost never-ending. My only dislikes would be the long hiatuses that Kentaro Miura. But if it helps him to continue drawing top quality panels, I'm cool.
I started reading this manga when I was sixteen ... or seventeen. This and Death Note were the first ones I'd ever read, and I read them at the same time. Once again, this series is not just something to peak at once in a while, you need to completely rile yourself up, because so many crazy things happen. I wonder if I was too young when i read it. Probably.
