Story: 5
The overarching plot begins as intriguing and mysterious, but by the end just had me going "What?" Very bizarre direction overall, and it's ultimately what dragged the score down for me.

It's pretty good. I have no complaints.
Sound: 10
The soundtrack is phenomenal, and I occasionally find myself going back to it, especially the track 'Cage'. Between beautiful lyrical pieces and mood-appropriate instrumentals, you will not be disappointed.
Character: 8
This is what sells the series for me. The interactions and developments of the main cast, especially the romantic subplots, felt honest and endearing. The passion and intensity between the big two characters blew me away.
...
This is a love story that I will probably never forget.
Enjoyment: 7
When said romance was on down-time, the mecha combat scenes were quite nice, but while some scenes (especially those that mixed both of those things!) leaving me in awe followed by contentiousness, my issues in other places ultimately brings this down a bit.
Overall: 7
There's a romantic plot here that left me head over heels, and the soundtrack was absolutely awe-inspiring, but the direction the overarching story headed by the end was a staircase towards bizarre nonsense.
If you can appreciate a romantic drama with some sporadic, mildly enjoyable mecha fight scenes, I can safely recommend that this is worth considering. If not, look elsewhere.
