Lets talk about Ryuu to Sobakasu no Hime or Belle. I think you will enjoy this movie if you can connect to it on an emotional level.Yes their are things I thought were poor in the movie, sometimes it felt slow and the comedy fell flat and the ending in my opinion well i'll leave that out. But let's talk about the good things imagine if a Disney movie and a realistic anime movie collided at high speeds you would think it would be a wreck right? Wrong it was done well to me with emotional trauma mixed with a full virtual world turned into
...
a musical.
So with coping with personal loss, being young and still learning about feelings towards others romantically and down right seeing physical abuse done on to others all expressed and released into song was amazing to me. And most of the main characters felt fleshed out. A mysterious antagonist who when you find out about him may hit home with some people and a wanna be hero who is only in it for the glory and fame, then the quiet girl that becomes a virtual star over night without even wanting it. It was a roller-coaster of a movie with ups and downs and even awkward moments.
Animation: 9 Now even with the little CGI there was and I Hate Bad CGI with a Passion I Barely noticed it and the show can go from the real world to a VR without much of a hiccup.
Story: 7 It felt straight ripped out of a Disney movie with a twist but it was not bad.
Characters: 6 The main cast felt well rounded the rest not so much. Some felt like they were there only for emotional support and others plain npc's that even started cyber bullying the MC when they thought she was going out with the "hot guy" in school even went so far as to turn it into a little mini game with coins in the movie it was just weird ok.
But if you can look past its faults and give it a try I think you might just enjoy this movie!
