I really wish i could rate parts 1 and 2 of JoJo separately. my thoughts and enjoyment of them differ greatly. I would give part 1 a general 5 for being lackluster, weakly written "superman like" main character, and having it feel slow paced even though it sped through the manga material. I "dropped" this series a couple of times before I was able to finish the first part. All that aside, I have to commend the author for being able to end the first part on "that" note, not many authors are willing to take that kind of chance so this allowed him to ... flourish in later parts. The second part, while still keeping pretty much the name level of animation, I would give an 8 or 9. This part was enthralling due to the excitement and charisma the main character brought to the scene. His tactical thinking and personality brought life to the show. Now, the main character isn't all that was brought to the table, his dynamic with his friend/rival was interesting to see, as well as the villains most of which were given depth to their character whether in subtle or "in your face" pronounced ways. This second part of jojo is what got me into the series, and it as well as part 4 are now my favorites.
