Everyone probably already knows Slam Dunk. This isnt an objective comparison. I get the same energy and anticipation with Hungry Heart same as I did in Slam Dunk. Fully recommend Hungry Heart. Watched it around the time Jose Antonio Reyes of Arsenal F.C. had the number 9. What a coincidence. Became instant fan of the anime.

Both have inherent problems with their pacifism. They dont want to hurt the evil guys so the evil dudes shoot and kill innocent bystanders. MCs are shocked. Then the evil guys kill more. Then MCs beat the evil dudes up. Things would have been resolved quickly since the series use guns. The MCs have supernatural response time except when shooting the evil guys who are shooting innocent bystanders. Instead of the evil dudes letting the MCs do their ritual, it's reversed here. The MCs let the evil dudes do their ritual.
