After watching Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame in cinemas and saw the female Avengers such as Captain Marvel, Shuri and Scarlet Witch, this spark my fascination on female heroes kicking the villain's butt and brought inspiration to watch Smile PreCure!/Glitter Force.
*Warning! Review may contain spoilers*
Story: The series setting is on a fictional city of Nanairogaoka, Japan or Rainbow Hills, New Jersey, USA where our heroes lived in a peaceful life. Enter Miyuki/Emily, a young middle school girl having a strong fondness of fairy tales, where she saw dreams about becoming a legendary magical warrior alongside with others fighting evil. On her way to school, she saw
...
a flying book where it comes out a pixie named Candy. Upon arriving at school, she attends as a transfer student where she met the same people on her dream, an energetic student/volleyball player named Akane/Kelsey, a shy girl named Yayoi/Lily who also turned out to be a talented manga/comic book artist, an ace football player with a huge family named Nao/April, and a beautiful girl named Reika/Chloe who is also turned to be a student council vice president. Later, Miyuki/Emily entered the Magical Library/Library of Legends where she read about the crisis on Märchenland/Jubiland where its queen got weaker and it took advantage for the Bad End/Shadow Realm on invading the kingdom by spreading a bad ending and it will do the same for Earth in order to share the same fate. Miyuki/Emily, Akane/Kelsey, Yayoi/Lily, Nao/April and Reika/Chloe are chosen by Candy to become the Precure/Glitter Force and they're destined to defend both worlds from the shadow of evil to prevent a bad ending from happening. The story itself is a mix of coming-of-age story where they must develop and set apart their differences in order to defend both worlds from an unknown shadow force.
Characters: The characters have different personalities but they must set it apart in order to work together and use the power of friendship to defend the two worlds from destruction. I like the character development for each character. The villains and monsters of the week brings the color of the story.
Art and Animation: Smile PreCure/Glitter Force was animated by Toei Animation, one of the greatest anime studios in Japan that brings you Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. The animation for the series is awesome especially the magical transformation and fight scenes. The character designs for all five main characters are very cute and beautiful at the same time plus the magical girl outfits are well-designed. The problem for international viewers is the flashy color effects especially during finishing attacks that totally hurts the eyes and may have seizure attacks (blame that Electric Soldier Porygon of Pokemon) so they darken it for a bit.
Sound and Music: The Japanese version's music rocks and the ending music videos makes the child viewers imitate their dance steps. The series sounds are awesome especially during transformation and finishing attacks. The English version is no slouch especially for the opening and ending music all thanks to the Asia super group, Blush.
Voice Acting: The Japanese voice actors express their emotions very well especially for the main characters thus giving a cute feeling to most viewers. The English voice acting is no joke because the cast members are from very famous anime series like Naruto such as Laura Bailey (Emily) Kate Higgins (Chloe), Danielle Judovits (April) and Colleen Villard (Kelsey) plus a newcomer Alex Cazares (Lily), give a girly and cute feeling to the viewers. Tastes Like Diabetes indeed for both versions of the anime.
Enjoyment: Smile PreCure/Glitter Force is very enjoyable not only for magical transformation but also for asskicking action scenes for female main characters which totally puts shounen heroes to shame and it totally reminds of female superheroes like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel and the female Avengers. The funny scenes makes you roll on the floor for laughing so hard and I like the heroes vs villains concept because I'm a superhero fanatic.
Overall: The series is very enjoyable to watch for all ages and for superhero/magical girl fans. I'll recommend you to watch this for younger audiences especially children.

My Hero Academia/Boku no Hero Academia is a Shonen Jump manga series created by Kohei Horikoshi. It was inspired by American comic books, particularly DC and Marvel Comics. Let's get to the review, shall we?
Story: The series is all about Izuku Midoriya, a superhero fanatic who dreams of becoming a hero if he develops a Quirk. But a sudden turn of events, he ended up lacking one but everything changes when he met his all time favorite hero, All Might, in person. Later, he is destined to inherit All Might's power, One For All. The series story is a coming of age story with
...
a zero to hero concept since it shows how Izuku progresses from being a zero to a future hero. There are also laughs and running gags that make us laugh very hard.
Characters: There are many characters with different personalities like Izuku himself being a determined and passionate although he originally didn't have a Quirk and tries his best to save people even though the person is a bully like Bakugo or not like most characters. Just like the most comic book series, there are villains (League of Villains) gives color to the series similar to Rogues' Gallery or Legion of Doom.
Art and Animation: Bones, the animation studio that brings you Fullmetal Alchemist series and Heroman, gives the heroic and comic feeling in their animations like All Might's smashes.
Sound: The series' music is the best giving the superhero feeling to most superhero fanatics. The opening "The Day" by Porno Graffitti is super awesome and I get an LSS upon hearing it.
Enjoyment: The series is super enjoyable to watch despite mixed reviews by most critics. Now I'm watching the second season. "Go Beyond! PLUS ULTRA!!!"

Finished the first season of the series, now Love Live! 2 continues the members of μ's journey to stardom.
Story: Otonikizaka High School is saved thanks to the heroic efforts of μ's although they weren't able to win the first Love Live! competition because Honoka Kousaka, their leader, suffers a game-breaking injury because she got sick after performing "No Brand Girls". However, the fight for the competition is not yet over because there is another Love Live! competition to participate and it is more challenging than ever. Now, the all nine members are reunited once again to sing their hearts out and win the competition. There
...
is a big challenge however, the three third years are about to graduate and they must decide to continue performing without the third years or disband for good and adding the pressure is the responsibilities as the new student council members of the founding three, Honoka Kousaka, Kotori Minami and Umi Sonoda. Can they handle all of these at the same time? Find out. (Okay, enough of a promo-esque act) The story has more drama, comedy and heartaches than ever because they are facing challenges and inner struggles.
Characters - Nothing has changed since the first season but the are new characters that the μ's will about to meet such as their rival idol group, A-Rise in person.
Music and Sound - The series added more μ's songs such as my personal favorite, "Snow Halation".
Art and Animation - Sunrise is ableto showcase the beauty of Akihabara especially during nighttime such as Gyoko Street, a location used for the music video of "Snow Halation" which is very realistic and mirrors like the real life counterpart. The CGI animation of the series is so cool just like the previous season.
Enjoyment - Just like the first season, the series is enjoyable to watch because of their determination to win the competition as well as their awesome music.

At first, I'm not that kind of guy who watches anime series about Japanese idols because my preferred anime genres are action, science fiction, fantasy, superpower, comedy and slice-of-life. When I've first tried to watch the first episode of Love Live!, everything changed and it is now of my favorite series. Well then, let's get to the review rundown of the series.
Story - Otonokizaka High School is in trouble of closing down because the number of students enrolling this school is dropping lower and lower every year, the school will totally shut down after its first years graduated. Honoka Kousaka, a second year of student
...
of the said school, doesn't want her school to shut down for good. When she goes to the popular UTX High School in order to find solutions for the prevention of closing down, she watches the performance of A-Rise, a school idol group in UTX, because of this she was inspired to start up an idol group of her own. With the help of Kotori Minami and Umi Sonoda, her childhood friends, they formed the idol group called μ's (Muse), named after the nine Greek goddesses of music, in order to boost popularity to her school. However, it is not an easy task because Eli Ayase, the student council president, opposes the idea of creating a school idol and she'll do anything using her own power to prevent the shut down of her school. In order to make things worse, Honoka and her friends are getting issues of recruiting new members. But when they heard about the idol competition called Love Live!, they'll able to get attention to win and promote the school. Because of this, Honoka is determined to win in order to prevent the school from total closure. The series story and plot is perfect because it shows determination of the characters.
Music and Sound - As expected, the series music and sound are awesome especially the series' opening music, "Bokura wa Ima no Naka de" and "Start: Dash", one of μ's insert song performances. All of the lyrics are relatable because some words of the lyrics gives motivation to the viewers that's why I've enjoyed it.
Characters - All of the members of μ's are very cute and sweet. They've different personalities as well like Honoka is very energetic and determined, Kotori (my waifu) is cute and sweet girl, Umi is polite and friendly, Maki is a tsundere, etc.
Voice Acting - In the original Japanese version, all of the members of μ's made noise in Japan and the whole wide world because of their awesome music and PVs (Promotional Videos). Their voice acting is very good and they were able to express their emotions very well. In the English dubbed version of the series, I've realized most of the voice actresses, such as Kira Buckland (Kuroyukihime of Accel World), Erica Mendez (Ryuko Matoi of Kill La Kill), Xanthe Huynh (Yuna Yuki of Yuki Yuna is a Hero), Laura Post (Ragyo Kiryuin of Kill La Kill) and Caitlin Glass (Winry Rockbell of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood) are strong fanatics of Love Live. Plus, they bring a television actress, Marieve Herington, who also had a role of a TV sitcom "How I Met Your Mother?", to provide the English speaking voice of Honoka and former competitive gamer, Faye Mata. Likewise, they were able to deliver their voice very well.
Animation and Art - The series is animated by Sunrise, an animation studio that brings you Gundam franchise (suprised? because the studio is notable for action, mecha series), gives the realistic art of some locations in Akihabara such as the Kanda Shrine which became popular thanks to the series. The CGI animation of Sunrise is superb because it gives viewers the feeling of watching PVs.
Enjoyment - The series is super awesome to watch because of the great music and animation. Not only that, the funny scenes will give you laughter when you're down. I've even tried to download one of their songs to my computer and android phone.

2018 is the great year for most anime fanatics like myself. Now, they've release this awesome anime series of the Winter 2018 season, Violet Evergarden.
The review rundown:
Story: Violet Evergarden is a former child soldier who was caught in the Great War. She was awakened in the hospital losing both of her arms in combat but before that she heard the last words that the person who take care of her "I love you", sadly she wasn't able to understand the meaning of it. She is now started a new life working as an Auto Memories Doll at CH Postal Company to transcribe people's thoughts through
...
writing a letter. In the process, she'll find the meaning of these words that are given to her and to discover her true purpose in life. The story is a little bit of a "coming of age story" because she'll start a new life and recovering from the scars of her past as a soldier.
Music and Sound - Evan Call provides the music and sound of the entire series giving the classical and emotional feeling to viewers.
Art and Animation - The series is animated by Kyoto Animation, the studio that brings you Koe No Kotachi/A Silent Voice and Hyouka, giving the excellent visuals and it is also known for emotional feeling every scene. Likewise, the series art is stunning and beautiful because it shows the beauty of the location setting and the nice view at nighttime.
Voice Acting - The series brings all-star cast members and the voice acting is very good because they were able to express their emotions gracefully every scene of the entire series.
Character - Since the series is focused on Violet herself, it is focused on character development where she'll try to understand the meaning of the words "I love you".
Enjoyment - The series becomes one of my favorite anime series this year because it is heartwarming and enjoyable. I hope this anime series will be awarded as "Anime of the year 2018" by several anime critics.

I've watched anime about games, card games like Cardfight Vanguard and the long running, Yu Gi-Oh! series, virtual games like .hack//, Sword Art Online, Overlord and Summer Wars but in this anime this differs the game genre because it is all about gambling.
The review rundown:
Story: Kakegurui's story setting is set in Hyakkaou Private Academy, a private school where most of the students are children of the most powerful and richest people in the world. During the day, it is just similar to normal school educating people in most academic subjects however when the sun goes down, it becomes a gambling den where people are
...
educating with money and playing with highest stakes. When you win, you'll live like a king and queen of this school but if you lose, you'll have debt to deal with and become a house pet where the other students will treat you as animals and sometimes gets a beatdown from bullies. In this series, Ryota Suzui is the part of the problem where he recently lost to Mary Saotome. Everything changed, when a transfer student named Yumeko Jabami came into the school. Yumeko may look like a normal and beautiful girl but when she gambles she's like on fire enjoying the thrill of the gamble.
Art and Animation: Studio MAPPA, the studio that brings you Yuri on Ice!!, provides the animation of the series and the art shift between the character's expressions especially when they're going crazy or frightened when they lose are awesome as it can make you say "YES YES YESSSS!!! I'LL MAKE THOSE GUYS SCREAM SO HARD WHEN THEY LOSE!!! WAHAHAHAHA!!!!". The anime's animation is using film noir aesthetics since gambling is the central plot of the series that totally fits the gambling atmosphere every episode.
Sound and Music: The series' sound and music are great such as suspenseful sounds during the game which give the feeling of thrill of watching the series. The series opening music, "Deal with the Devil", is a mixture of jazz and pop music which totally suits the theme itself giving the feeling of playing gambling games in the casino.
Voice Acting: Their performance is super awesome and they express their emotions superbly especially when they're getting crazy playing the game. In the Japanese version, Yumeko's seiyuu, Saori Hayami, notable for voicing good-natured, prim and proper lady characters, is taking it into a different level where she becomes a crazy girl during gambling. The English voice actor for Yumeko, Erika Harlacher, just like Hayamin (Saori Hayami's fan nickame), who is also notable for voicing rich girls like Claudia Enfield of Asterisk War, prim and proper characters like Violet Evergarden and princess-y characters like Princess Asseylum of Aldnoah.Zero, is no joke because she delivers it very well whenever Yumeko is getting crazy.
Enjoyment: The series is very addictive and awesome which I'm getting excited to see the next season because it is very enjoyable to watch.

In the past, I've watched several anime series involving humans with superpowers like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto and cartoons about superheroes like Superman, Batman, Spiderman and so much more. Now, this anime series redefines the superhero/superpower genre.
The review rundown:
Story: One Punch Man's story is about a man named Saitama who is just (oh well) a hero for fun where he takes out every single monster and supervillain, who tries to terrorize the city, in just a single punch hence the name of the series title. Later, a cyborg named Genos appears to search the person responsible for the destruction of his village and
...
later becomes Saitama's disciple to hone his skills to destroy the culprit. (Ahem, no spoiler please) Anyway, the story is very simple at first but it becomes deeper as it progresses plus there is a lot of laughs, jokes and running gags just like any other anime out there. Every episode has villains which the main characters has to fight just like the rogues gallery from most comic book series.
Character: The characters of the story are diverse plus each character including Saitama himself have different personalities in which the viewers can enjoy watching it. The villains appear every episode brings color to the series itself just like any superhero tv series. Plus, some of the characters are parodies from other anime series (Spoiler Alert!) such as Vaccine Man who looks like Piccolo from Dragon Ball series which can bring memories to older generations.
Art and Animation: The series is animated by Madhouse and the character designs are created by ONE. The animation quality is awesome plus the flashy special effects during fight scenes such as Saitama's punches that bring awesome results. The art shift of the characters that fits their personality which totally fits from the webcomic such as Saitama's "OK" face and Tatsumaki's chibi mode.
Sound: The sounds and music of this anime are awesome. The opening theme The Hero!!~Okoreru Kobushi ni Hi wo Tsukero~ by JAM Project is eargasmic since it is very cool and I've got a Last Song Syndrome upon hearing the song especially from the first phrase "ONE PUUUUUUUUNNNNNCCCHHHH!!!!". The voice actors are really good and they bring all-star cast members:
For the Japanese version, it features well-known seiyuu like Yuki Kaji (Eren Yaeger of Attack on Titan), Aoi Yuki (Iris of Pokemon the series Black and White), Unsho Ishizuka (Professor Oak of Pokemon the anime), Tessho Genda (Duke Togo A.K.A. the eponymous Golgo 13 of Golgo 13:Queen Bee) and so much more.
The English dubbed version is no joke, it features voice actors from video games, cartoons and other anime series such as Max Mittleman (Kousei Arima of Your Lie in April) , Zach Aguilar (Slaine Troyard of Aldnoah Zero), Todd Haberkorn (Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail), Ray Chase (Noctis of Final Fantasy XV), Keith Silverstein (Hawk Moth of Miraculous Ladybug and Nazeem of Skyrim), Marieve Herington and Laura Post (Honoka Kousaka and Nozomi Tojo of Love Live!) and so much more. Plus, there are voice actors from Funimation Entertainment joining the party such as Christopher Sabat and Mike McFarland (Piccolo and Baby of Dragon Ball series).
Enjoyment: The series is totally enjoyable because it is not your ordinary superhero/superpower anime has to offer because there are a lot of comedy which brings you a good laugh to many viewers which deviates most of the superhero media.

Although the series is just a continuation to the first season, Gakusen Toshi Asterisk 2/The Asterisk War 2 is still the best action, sci-fi, fantasy and harem anime to date.
The review rundown:
Story: As mentioned, the series story is a continuation to the events of the first season where Ayato's seal is now revealed to the public where it sends him and his partner, Julis, into trouble of winning the Festa since there is more powerful opponents to stand its way. It was intended to stop it from comparing it with Chivalry of a Failed Knight in terms of setting.
Characters: Same main characters
...
but there are more characters to bring support to the main characters in the story. In the process, there are more enemies/villains that the 5 main characters has to face.
Sound and Music: The series opening and ending music are catchy and energetic thanks to Rasmus Faber, Shiena Nishizawa and recently, Haruka Chisuga. The sounds of this anime are still the best.
Art: Likewise, A-1 Pictures provides the animation and some CGI fight scenes.
Overall: The series is enjoyable since I'm a fan of sci-fi, fantasy and supernatural and action anime.

Gakusen Toshi Asterisk/The Asterisk War's story setting reminds me of the Unreal Tournament video game franchise where a mega corporation took power after a certain tragedy that almost destroy Earth and all of the contestants are chosen to fight in the tournament as an entertainment spectacle albeit less blood sport and the contestants must be a special kind of human being or a metahuman than the Unreal Tournament series. The main character's personalities are diverse since it is a harem anime which gives you laughter that brings you good vibes when you're down. The fight scenes are awesome for an action-sci-fi, fantasy anime because of
...
the lightsaber-esque weapons and big guns found in most sci-fi anime and FPS games. The animation is awesome a big thanks to A-1 Pictures, the animation studio that brings you Blue Exorcist and Sword Art Online. The series music is very catchy and great thanks to Rasmus Faber for providing the series music including the series opening music "Brand-New World" by Shiena Nishizawa who is notable for contributing the ending of music of KanColle "Fubuki".

Kimi no Na Wa/Your Name is a movie directed, written and created by the fabulous Makoto Shinkai.
The review rundown:
Music and sound: The movie's music and sound is awesome where I watch it on my cellphone using my headphones with the Bluetooth feature. It gives me the feeling of amazement and music to my ears while watching every scene of the movie. The voice actors (regardless of the language) are great because they suited to their appearances and emotions.
Story: At first, I've wondered why they're changing bodies in the first few minutes of the film and it becomes understandable in the later scenes. Its story
...
is very simple but as the movie progresses it becomes deeper.
Character: All of the characters have simple personalities and they even blended it with emotions during each scenes of the movie despite of having deeper personalities for the main characters.
Art and Animation: Some animation scenes have 3D CGI that makes it realistic and smooth. The beauty of Mitsuha's home town and some notable locations in Tokyo such as Suga-jinja in Shinjuku district is also shown in this movie which is very realistic.
Overall: The movie is totally a masterpiece and enjoyable which I've even thinking to watch it again this love month (February).
