Ok, this series is fantastic. But it's also heinously demented in a way that only some people are insane enough to comprehend. While even the minor characters such as "other diary owners" have very good backstories, THERE IS TOO MUCH RAPE. If I weren't quite so desensitised to the pain and suffering of others, I would be crying my eyes out with my head between my knees, instead, i'm just thoroughly disgusted. It's a very good sign of how freaking amazing the series is that i'm watching it despite all the fucked up-ness going on. It also has an incredible psychological manipulation element that has ... you both trying very hard to stay awake, and wanting extremely impatiently to watch more.

TLDR: Fantastic series, but not for the feint of heart-ed.

2/3 through the series, and already there have been 2 cases of gang rape and one of attempted gang rape. That's just fucked up in anyones books.
