When I say the word: “Princess.” What kind of impression comes into your mind? Now, take that impression of yours, and throw that in the bin, because this Princess is not your typical fantasy princess. Elegant? What is that? Princess Anis does not give two shits about being elegant while happily walking around the castle in a blood-soaked dress and wearing the head of a monster who is the latest’s victim of Anis’ rampage.
Princess Anisphia “Anis” Wynn Palletia is the reason this anime is so enjoyable. Her erratic and unpredictable behaviour brings life into this already amazing show. Her passion for developing magical tools
...
(magicology) is so infectious that it not only affects the character in the anime but the audience itself. You can’t help but love and adore her.
Such an amazing character is more than enough to make any show good. However, if you are not yet convinced. I will give you another reason why you should watch this:
The story.
I know many people who didn’t watch this anime because of the “Isekai” tag. Truthfully, I cannot blame them. Isekai as a genre is always a hit or miss, sometimes you may get to discover some amazing isekai like “Ascendance of a Bookworm”, “Mushoku Tensei” and “That Time I Have Reincarnated as a Slime.”. Or sometimes, you watch an isekai that is so bad that you wonder how it even receives an adaption in the first place.
For MagiRevo, I will put it in the “amazing isekai” category. Unlike other isekai, MagiRevo did not start like your typical isekai anime where it shoves the fact that it is an isekai right in your face. MagiRevo slowly sprinkles in small details that signal that this indeed, an isekai. Her invention, like the self-heating kettle, mana sword and magic broom is heavily based on her knowledge of her previous life. Anis occasionally mention her past life experience. Or during the ED where the image of our modern world is shown in a fraction of a second. This subtly allows MagiRevo to develop this unique and enjoyable storyline.
The story starts with Anis crashing into the party (literally) amid her brother, Prince Algard publicly calling off his marriage with his ex-fiancée Euphyllia “Euphie” Magenta and denouncing Euphie as a bully. Anis then recruit Euphie as her assistant which she reluctantly agrees to and flies off with her magic broom. Euphie helps Anis in her magicology research and follows her on her adventure. Slowly but steadily, their relationship begins to change and develop. In what way? That is for you to find out!
Now, the negative part of the review.
The criticism I have with this anime is how they tone down the personality and the relationship of the characters in MagiRevo. Let’s use Anis as an example, Anis is far more aggressive and erratic in the Light Novel and Manga compared to the anime. In the manga and light novel, there are some instances of Anis fly kicking the door wide open. She has been described as a bloodthirsty monster who will not stop anything short of what she wants to do. Compared to anime where Anis, is much more reserved and tamed.
Anis’s interaction with other characters has also been toned down. Especially the interaction with Ilia, her maid. In the light novel and manga, Anis and Ilia act more like a pair of best friends than a master and a servant. Ilia will throw a jab at Anis whenever an opportunity arises. She even physically slaps the living soul out of Anis when Anis tried to assault someone. Even with that, there is a strong mutual respect between them. While in the anime, you can tell that there is a barrier between Anis and Ilia. Yes, Ilia is still quite rude to Anis at times, but it is nowhere near the level of the light novel.
For me, one of the main reasons why I love MagiRevo so much is because of how Anis interact with other characters. How others interact with our not-so-princessy princess. So, when they tone down their personality and interaction. It feels like the anime missing parts of its soul.
By no means, the anime is bad. I know some people do prefer the more toned-down version of Anis. Everyone has their preference. Is just like a cup of tea, the anime version is just like a cup of well-brewed tea, while the more aggressive version of Anis is the sugar cube. Some people prefer tea without any sugar, and some people prefer drinking their tea with a few cubes of sugar. There is no wrong way of consuming tea.
Another criticism I have with this anime is how much content they skip. I understand this is a necessary evil to cover 3 volumes worth of content into a 12-episode season as it is almost impossible without skipping some content. Due to how the light novel is written, there aren’t many filler chapters the anime can safely skip without harming the story as a whole. As a result, they are forced to skip some content while sacrificing the world-building and character development aspect of the anime. For example, the light novel explains why Ilia treats Anis in this way. Or Algard’s reasoning behind why he does this or that. There is much more content that has been skipped in the anime, but it will make the review way too long. This skipped content makes the story, and the character looks shallow, and undeveloped and gives an impression to the viewer that the story is rushed.
The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady, or MagiRevo for short is one of the best, if not, the best isekai in this winter 2023 season. The main character, Princess Anis is one of the most infectious and loveable characters I have ever seen, and the story is not your typical copy and paste but an original, well-written story. Even though it has some issues with the adaption, it is still a must-watch for anyone who enjoys watching isekai or fantasy anime. I will award this anime a strong 9.
If you wish to read its light novel, please note that this anime has adapted all the official translated volumes of MagiRevo (As of March 2023). If you wish to continue the story where the anime left off, you must wait until April 2023, when Yen Press release the 4th volume of MagiRevo. However, if you want to read its light novel, I will strongly recommend you to read from the first volume compared than starting at the fourth value (when it’s released). As mentioned earlier in the review, much content has been cut in the anime adaptation. So it is worth starting from the start.
If you don’t like reading hundreds of pages of light novels, you can read manga instead. The manga is an extremely good adaptation of the light novel. Where the personality I mentioned earlier is shown in full display. Unfortunately, the official translated version of the manga only covers till around Episode 7 or 8 of the anime.

Bocchi the Rock is one of the best adaptions I have ever seen since Mushoku Tensei. It is clear to anyone that this anime results from the animator’s love and care. While perfectly keeping the source material’s core and soul. The animation for this show is always on point, and it captivates a feeling that words cannot really describe it. I will tell you the reason why this anime is a masterpiece.
The anime is centred around Hitori Gotou, also known as Bocchi, who has social anxiety so severe that it makes Komi looks like a party-loving extrovert. She wants to make friends, especially with
...
someone who has a similar interest as her. However, she was too scared to approach anyone. This is why she decided to bring her guitar to school, hopefully, acting as a form of an icebreaker. Unfortunately for Bocchi, the only thing that her guitar managed to break was her spirit and her motivation. Luckily, she ends up meeting the members of the Kessoku Band and joins as the lead guitarist. Being the lead guitarist of the band is the first step of Bocchi’s long and painful journey to get out of her shell and work towards her goal.
As someone with social anxiety, Bocchi tends to overthink or overcomplicate a simple task. For example, when Bocchi was told to work to cover the band’s fee and equipment. She overthinks to such a degree that concludes if she made just one mistake during her part-time job will result in her premature death. Or when her bandmates suggest she create an Instagram account, she overthinks that she will end up becoming “The attention-whore monster.” This happens so often that her bandmate names the time when Bocchi overthinks and has her intense dissociative episodes: “Bocchi Time.”
Bocchi Time is always the highlight of each episode for me. During Bocchi Time, the style of the animation. Sometimes, they even changed the medium of how Bocchi Time is shown. From VR Chat to real-life stop motion and many, many more. This sudden change of animation style is to show how out of the world or out of touch Bocchi’s baseless fear and delusion were. Meanwhile, Bocchi can be seen physically degrading in animation when she is overthinking or panicking. Which is a genius way to represent her degrading mental status whenever she is panicking. While leaving the rest of the band members asking themselves, what the hell is wrong with her?
Luckily for Bocchi, the members of the Kessoku Band have always supported Bocchi with compassion, even though sometimes they do not know what causes Bocchi to freak out, and function as her long-craved friends and comrade. Ryo, the bassist, acts as her mentor and senpai, providing her with her honest opinion about her work and providing her with much-needed guidance. Kita, the secondary guitarist, and lead vocalist, she always drags Bocchi out and makes her experience something new. However, sometimes she pushes a little bit too much for our poor Bocchi. Nijika, the band leader and the drummer, always tries to get Bocchi involved in the band matters. To make sure that her opinion can be heard. Nijika also acts as Bocchi’s emotional support.
One of the other reasons why I love this show so much is that it shows the details of being an independent band. For example, the band must go thru auditions to even have a chance to stand on the stage. Booking a slot for the band to perform with and require meeting ticket quotas. The band, especially a band that just started out with little to no fans, must perform in front an audience that is hostile towards the band or just not interested in the performance. You and you alone must win back their attention with your performance alone.
From performing in the closet to performing on a live stage, Bocchi has made many significant steps towards her goal. However, the journey is not easy. Every step Bocchi made is a painful one, but after every painful experience and ‘Bocchi Time’. You can tell Bocchi, as a character, grows from that. Her growth is organic, which can be rooted back to her experience in the earlier part of the anime. It is extremely satisfying to watch her slowly become more and more confident and become someone, she truly wants to be.
In conclusion, Bocchi the Rock! is a phenomenal show. The studio can easily get away with just lazily adapting the show and still can be a decent anime of a bunch of cute high school girls enjoying playing instruments. But no, the studio wants us to know why they love Bocchi the Rock so much and why you should love it as well. The identity of the show is strong throughout the anime. With its humour style heavily compliments the theme of the anime. Its colourful characters with different personality traits and quarks shine brightly with its stellar animation and the talented VAs. I will award Bocchi the Rock! the well-deserved 10.
Will I recommend you watch this anime?
A strong yes. It is as clear as day that Bocchi the Rock is an anime that was produced with lots of love and passion. The animation is amazing, the VA makes the characters feel alive. If you are suffering from a similar issue as Bocchi, this anime is a must-watch. If you don’t have those issues, then please still give this anime a try. I promise you that you will end up falling in love with this anime and desperately craving more.
I am sad that my weekly dose of Bocchi is gone. I should not be sad that it is over but should be glad that it happened. I desperately wish that there would be a second season of this amazing anime. So, for now, I won’t say farewell to Bocchi and co, because someday, I am sure we will meet again.

This is one of the cutest anime I have watched. It is so cute that the narrator can't help but comment on how cute this is.
There isn't much plot for this anime. It can be summarized like this. The baby ghost repeatedly begs Fushihara-San to go home early so she won't end up like Azusa, who worked herself to death and end up reincarnating to another world and spending the next 300 years killing Rimuru's siblings.
Wait... I'm getting sidetracked here...
It is very similar to The Helpful Fox Senko-San. Where a supernatural being enters the life of an overworked office. Aiding them in their
...
housework helps them to relax and relieve their stress. But instead of a magical fox, it is a baby ghost! The interaction between Fushihara-San and the baby ghost is cute and wholesome. The ED and OP fit the anime very well. The only small complaint I have is that Yuurei-chan's voice is slightly too high for my liking. Other than that, no complaints!
The anime knows what it wants to achieve and it delivers. If you wish to watch something relaxing, or something that will heal you from your stressful day of work/school. Then I will strongly recommend this anime to you. This anime will receive a very comfortable 9 from me.
If you wish to watch similar anime to this: The Helpful Fox Senko-San (Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-San) and Taisho Otome Fairy Tale (Taishou Otome Otogibanashi) is a good choices.

This anime is a dumpster fire.
It has a solid start before derailing into a train wreck. The starting plot is rather unique which makes me have a reasonably high expectation for this anime. Which cause me to be disappointed at the end of the season
The downfall of this anime starts with the introduction of Ginny. Ireena was downgraded from a loveable character to an extremely annoying one. The only significant thing Ginny did is the one attempt to seduce Ard. Any character introduced after Ginny is forgettable at best.
There is almost no character development at all, other than Ard I guess. It becomes extremely
...
frustrating to watch because now the plot is all over the place. Basically, the show tries to do everything at once and loses its focus.
If you like trashy power fantasy anime, then maybe give this a try? Otherwise, don't waste your time on this.

With many CGDCT (Cute Girl Doing Cute Things) flooding the over-saturated market lately. Making a unique yet enjoyable CGDCT grows more difficult by the season. So studios and authors alike try out new concepts in an effort of standing out among others. For example, a Cute girl doing fishing (Slow Loop). Cute girl managing a cafe (GochiUsa). Cute girl camping (Yuru Camp), and many more. I am a huge fan of CGDCT, so when I heard there is a new CGDCT on Real Estate, by my favorite studio Dogo Kobo, I instantly got hyped and can't wait to watch it.
Dogo Kobo is well-known
...
for making good CGDCT anime, and this anime is no exception. The art in this anime is way too good for a CGDCT anime. They managed to capture the theme of a medieval town wall, even though the scenery is beautifully drawn. Dogo Kobo has outdone itself in this department, and I am extremely grateful for it.
The OP and ED are decent. I like it, but not enough to add it to my Spotify Playlist. The VA did a good job acting out each character's personality. Fa's VA did an exceptional job, successfully acting out Fa's child-like innocence in a very natural way while without sounding too over high pitched and fake.
For plot-wise, at the start of the season, it seems like your typical CGDCT anime (not much ongoing plot, everyone seems to be enjoying their time, etc.). However, in the 2nd half of the season, the show takes an unexpectedly dark turn. (I will not spoil it, watch the show if you want to know what is about.) They capture the dire atmosphere very well, which pushes this anime to an 8.
TLDR:
RPG Real Estate is a CGDCT anime that focus on cute girls doing real estate. It is an above-average CGDCT anime. Please note that there is excessive fan service this season. I will give this anime a borderline 8.

If you are reading a review for an anime's 3rd season, I am sure you already know what is Ascendance of Bookworm is about. So I will leave out the introductory part of the review. Let's jump straight into this review.
Let's start with the positive part of the review.
As expected, the story is fantastic. Miya Kazuki did a fantastic job writing the story. The characters are the same lovable characters we love from Season 2. Myne still has a crippling addiction to reading. Ferdinand and Benno have a Myne-induced headache every single episode. Lutz desperately tries to keep Myne not working herself to
...
death. The OP and ED are a banger, as always. The VAs does an amazing to make these characters alive.
So now, the negative part of the review.
This season's adaptation isn't as good as the previous season. It is still decently good, but not good enough for a series like Ascendance of a Bookworm. The Light Novel is infamous to be insanely well written and extremely detailed. With this season leaving a lot of details and content out, watching this season after reading its LN leaves me unsatisfied. I do not want to be that reviewer who demands this adaption to have the same standard as Mushoku Tensei, but I want it to have a similar standard as the previous season. In short, I feel the quality of the adaptation does not do the Light Novel justice.
With the negative part out of the way...
The Ascendance of a Bookworm is one of my favorite isekai out there, It is not your typical copy and pastes isekai. It uses the isekai genre well, whereas Myne often references technology and advances from our world to aid her in achieving her ultimate goal.
Even though I strongly criticize this season's adaptation, I still love this series. I still enjoy every single minute of this season. As a bookworm fan, I am happy that these series get a season 3.
I will ultimately give this season a 9. It is not as strong of a 9 as Season 2 or a 10 for season 1, but this is still the bookworm that I love so much. The identity and the soul of the series are still there. This is why I decided to give it a 9, despite my strongly criticizing the quality of the adaptation.
In summary, I am happy that we get a 3rd season. However, I am disappointed with the standard of this adaptation. I am giving this season a weak 9.
If you can't get enough of Myne and her crippling addiction to books. I will strongly recommend you to check out its Light Novel. I will also recommend you to start reading from the very beginning instead of where the anime stops. Light Novel is written in Myne's POV instead of the anime's 3rd person POV. Extra stories from other characters' POVs will help you further understand Myne and her surrounding. If you want to experience the full The Ascendance of a Bookworm experience, read its Light Novel. You will not regret it, I promise you.
Will I recommend this anime? It depends.
The Ascendance of a Bookworm is known to be an extremely slow pace isekai. Which becomes its greatest strength and its greatest weakness. For viewers who enjoy SoL anime, or something that has a heavy focus on its world-building and characters. This can be considered an underrated goldmine. However, viewers who are not used to watching such a slow-paced anime may find this series extremely boring. I will recommend you to watch the first three episodes of season 1 first, and see if you enjoyed the show or not

The only distinctive way to separate slice of life anime is thru its character and gimmick to capture the viewer's attention. This season, for example, My Dress-up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi so Suru) follows a high schooler who makes Hina Dolls. Meanwhile, Slow Loop follows a group of highschooler fishing.
So when I heard of Akebi's Sailor Uniform (Akebi-Chan no Sailor-fuku), I have little interest in watching it as it did not sound that interesting to me. So I end up adding this to my never-ending Plan to Watch list.
I got attracted after viewing the PV. This show has the best animation
...
for an SoL since Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 (Kobayashi-San Chi no Maid Dragon S) from Summer 2021. I have a very high expectation since it is by CloverWorks, but this just blows it right out of the water. Everything looks so good. The color used, the details of the surrounding. The silkily smooth animation. I was not expecting such a higher production level for just an SoL anime.
======SPOILER AHEAD======
Now for the story. As expected, there isn't much of a storyline or plot. It follows Akebi of her dream of wearing a sailor's uniform. Akebi and her mom were so tunnel-visioned that they were not aware that the dress code for the school had changed. The school granted her permission to continue wearing the sailor's uniform.
After that, the show follows Akebi and her daily school days. Slowly and steadily, she becomes closer to her classmate and friends.
======SPOILER ENDS======
The show does give a similar atmosphere as Non-Non Biyori. Where a group of students attends school in a rural town. . There isn't much drama in this anime, which helps the show to build its atmosphere.
I will give this anime an 8. The animation for this anime is beautiful. It has a slow plot with a chill and relaxing atmosphere, similar to Non-Non Biyori. I will recommend you to watch if you love SoL.
TLDR:
Akebi's sailor uniform is the most beautiful SoL anime I have seen since Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 (Kobayashi-San Chi no Maid Dragon S). Slow Loop at the surface looks like a typical moe SoL anime where the only selling point is the character is cute. A carbon-copy moe SoL anime where the only difference is the character design and the activity they focus on.
However, I was proven otherwise after the first few episodes. Slow Loop did not attempt to copy from moe anime but instead created its own identity.
If I want to summarize the whole anime, I will say that it takes the good part of Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) and Dairy of Our Days at the Breakwater (Houkago Teibou Nisshi) and combine it into this
...
masterpiece.
======SPOILER AHEAD======
The anime starts when Hiyori and Koharu become a step-sister after their parents re-married. The sister learned that they have a common hobby in fishing. After every episode, you can see the subtle character development of Hiyori and Koharu.
Hiyori is an introvert, who hates social interaction. To the point where she intentionally makes her unsociable. While Koharu is an extrovert who can make friends with ease. I was expecting a clash between personalities where Hiyori rejects Koharu or goes tsundere. However, instead of that, Hiyori embraces Koharu to the best of her ability.
You can see the character development after a few episodes. Hiyori is more open to conversation and takes the role of a mentor for Koharu and Aiko. Meanwhile, Koharu becomes more reserved while slowly becoming better with fishing. Thru fishing, Hiyori and Koharu slowly become closer and closer to each other. To the point where they are inseparable and behave like sisters than strangers.
Supporting characters like Koi and Aiko have some character development as well. Koi at the start hates fishing due to her dad's obsession with fishing, but progressively warms up to the idea of fishing. For Aiko, she was unsure about fishing because she felt it is a hobby for boys and girls should not participate in that. To now she openly embrace fishing and even introduced fishing to her friend. These character developments are slow, organic, and natural. Which makes Slow Loop stands out from other moe SoL.
======SPOILER ENDS======
Slow Loop has a relaxing and comfy atmosphere. Similar to what we experienced in Laid-Back Camp. There is some conflict and drama. However, those conflicts are minor and insignificant and they do not affect the atmosphere that the show wants to create.
While you are relaxing, the anime slowly spoon-feeds you the fishing technics and tips. Sometimes, the show will switch to Koharu's Cooking Time where it teaches you how to process the fish and make them into a delicious meal. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater did have similar segments but Slow Loop executes the concept better.
I enjoyed Slow Loop from start to finish. So I will be giving it a 9. This is one of the better CGDCT anime I have watched. A must-watch if you love SoL anime or something to relax with.
TLDR:
Slow Loop is a mix of Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) and Dairy of Our Days at the Breakwater (Houkago Teibou Nisshi). It has the relaxing and comfy atmosphere like Laid-Back Camp. While teaching the viewers the fishing technics like Dairy of Our Days at the Breakwater. I enjoy this anime from start to finish and it deserves a very strong 9.
