Random Chat is one of those manhwa that seems to have no depth to it from the outside. When I first came across this story, the art looked weird and I honestly didn't have much of an expectation. However, the next 150 chapters that I read would blow me away.

Random chat is about the character growth of a bullied high school student, who starts off as a weak, low self-esteemed, pathetic loser. You would expect him to change quickly and become overpowered like many other protagonists, but MC's journey is one that is slow and filled with conflict. This bullied trope seems typical for a ... manhwa, but as the story progresses, the story of each side character gradually unfolds and demonstrates how trauma has impacted each of their lives. While I've seen many other readers that dislikes how slow character progression is in this manhwa, I believe that the slow character development is what makes this manhwa genius, because people in real life don't change easily. People don't gain true confidence easily and trauma can't be overcome without time and effort.

The story of this manhwa is one of the best I've ever read and I would give it a solid 9.5/10.
The art feels lacking but you will get used to it as this manhwa grows on you, 7/10.

This manga really was a lot better than what I expected. You have this common romance trope, but the way it is executed is so cute, wholesome, and exciting. I'm not a huge fan of the romance genre, but this one instantly had me hooked from chapter 1. Normally I find romance mangas more designed for female audiences, and I find it hard to relate to many of the female characters(I'm a male). However, this is one of those few romance anime that I am able to relate to both the female and male mc and fall in love with their chemistry. Give this manga ... a shot; I guarantee that you won't regret it.

The art is a 10/10 for me, and there's little to none overly sexualization of any of the characters. Highly underrated manga.
