Overall, lackluster. I was interested to see if they could capture and maintain the same energy from season 1… they did not. Each episode it became more and more apparent that the series was traveling down the pipeline of a stereotypical isekai. On one hand without the revenge-arc driving the plot, there wasn’t much more growth for the series. On the other hand, there didn’t seem to be a device the writer could use to renew those same feelings without feeling tacky or overdone.
Not quite the degree of fall-off that the Promised Neverland had, but still markedly disappointing. The visuals fell short, which is always

disappointing to see (hahaha) in the anime medium and the fantasy genres which allows so much freedom and potential for grandiose images.
Instead of diving deep into character development, they opted to just continuously add more forgettable characters (the majority of which, seem to be lending themselves to MC’s eventual harem). Hats off to them for somehow still managing to include slave justification when NOBODY was asking for it.
Shield Hero Season Two was a disappointment. Personally, for me to watch season three, it will have to come heavily suggested by friends along with a promise that the fan-service ceases.
