This manga is only 6 chapters long at the moment, so I can't say too much about it really but lemme try and write something up for it.

This is a gag manga of sorts about a Yakuza turned house husband and the shenanigans he gets into daily thanks to how he carries himself as an ex-Yakuza as well as his past coming up once or twice so far and causing some misunderstandings.

I like this manga, it's funny and I always enjoy manga about Yakuza or delinquents etc. so I had to pick this up and give it a read, so far I really ... like it.

One thing that bothers me though is the chapters sometimes end abruptly and I'm left wondering if maybe I didn't read the full chapter or something but nah it's just like that. It doesn't detract from my enjoyment or anything though I just felt that was something worth noting so that you don't go into as I did and get confused.

Alright, I just binge watched this in one sitting and figured I review it.

This anime is your typical survival island anime however, it feels fresh. I am legitimately surprised at how much I enjoy this and even urge others to give it a watch. However, there is only one big trope so far that kind of irks me and has ruined my enjoyment in early episodes which is the MC having amnesia.

The MC having amnesia is a lot more irksome when you realize they made the MC a likeable bad ass character and took him away before the first even ends. ... That first episode is the first time you see him actively being bad ass for quite some time. Even so, I actually still like him.

Now onto some smaller things about this anime that people may find bothersome for whatever reason.

Yeah, It's in Chinese. I see a lot of people complain about that and I personally don't get it. Not a big deal to me but whatever I guess I'll put that out there.

The animation. The animation is pretty mediocre but it does not deviate from the story at all and I have no problem with it. It's basically what anime was like in the early 2000's.

Now onto the enjoyable things.

Unlike most survival anime the characters here are not just expandable objects for the author to kill off at will in order to try and build up some false tension or a plot device used to help the MCs out at will. In fact, they actually get some decent backstory and they even end up as lovable side characters even when they do some less than lovable things, even hateable things actually. In fact, for such a large cast of characters, I'm surprised I don't hate at least one of them. They all are actually interesting despite some of them not having much backstory to them or even little to no backstory at all (so far).

I want to touch on something I've seen people mention about this anime so far that is related to the first two episodes or so, no this is not a BTOOM! rip off. The survival island cliche is an age-old premise. Ever read And Then There Were None? The anime has more in common with that than it does BTOOM! but it's still not comparable in the least.

I really see no reason not to watch this anime, definitely give it a try! It's a decent mystery anime as well as a decent thriller, I know that may not sound like a great compliment or anything but I don't want to oversell it and get peoples hopes up for some sort of Detective Conan or Death Note level mystery/thriller kinda deal. Unless they manage to mess this up I expect this review to be relevant up to the last episode. With the surprises they've thrown me so far I might even have to come back just to praise it more


EDIT: So I just finished this anime. And wow. Just wow. I honestly did not expect such a great anime from this. I honestly went into this expecting the most cliched low budget anime that exists solely to advertise the webtoon and boy was I wrong. Seriously guys, Give this anime a chance.

So basically this story is about a homicidal sociopath who has somehow managed to become a teacher. Interesting.

The story itself is handled well, it isn't outstanding or anything though. There's no intense psychological aspect to it as of yet and I think since we're about a third of the way through the story at this point there won't be any of that in the future. This story is your average Japanese crime thriller, the kind you would find on Netflix or whatever else streaming services you use. In fact, It has a movie and I'm pretty sure the movie is what spawned the manga ... rather than the usual case of the manga spawning a movie.

This manga so far has only one flaw that I find extremely weird. It doesn't completely ruin the story for me in any way but I just find it dumb, there is no reason for it to have happened. The author just needed to push the plot along. This is where we get into spoiler territory. So be warned

So after our beloved MC does his thing and kills school staff and students, The students all of a sudden get this sneaking suspicion that the MC is the one who is behind all of this. Now, this is weird to me. The MC up to this point has actually been nice and even lenient towards students who are disrespectful to him.

I really don't want to get into all of this because it would take me ages since I am illiterate and incapable of weaving my reviews together in a way that doesn't sound like the most long-winded rant ever so I will do my best to do a condensed recap

Student 1 who is basically the class ass and delinquent is cheating on tests

MC finds a way to jam the phones in his classroom during tests to stop the cheating

Delinquent dude now hates the MCs guts and is paranoid about this despite having no reason at all to be other than the fact that he hates MC for petty reasons

now fast forward a bit and this entire thing evolves into the delinquent thinking that just because the MC stopped him from cheating that he must also be the murderer and things just get even more nonsensical from there after managing to convince a bunch of other students of the mc being the killer

I don't find this too bothersome and it doesn't ruin the story for me or anything, but I think it's a rather big flaw that should be addressed. It just seems very, abrupt, for the lack of a better term.

Other than that, I love this manga. It's great, there's not much to it other than the MC trying to murder people. It is what it is and you shouldn't expect any more from it than that honestly. It's nothing more than a short thriller and it doesn't try to be anything else, which I think helps it in the long run.

It get's a solid 7/10 from me

I have only read 20 chapters so far, even though this manga is finished.

Anyway, my opinion about the story. Well, so far, this is not my first manga about space and astronauts. But I can say for sure that the story is unenjoyable and stale.
Of course being a shônen, it has those "shônen" moments and the light comedy.
Okay, now you may think: "Omg, School, Shonen and Comedy. This is so overused.". And.... well you're right.The manga has nothing new.


... Art. Fair, not bad but it’s boring to look at. It gets the job done though.


Shônen character. Nothing new. Dimwitted overly optimistic MC. Overbearing and annoying female side MC, and smart third part of the group. They are all best friends and really support each other.
I can really complain because these character archetypes are so overused, they’re so unrealistic. Same goes for the story. Even for a sci-fi.
What this story is lacking is an inkling of originality, it’s way too boring and trying to play it safe.
About the support characters. They support, literally. They suck too, incredibly devoid of any character.


Enjoyment. I didn't really like it too much, it's not completely boring but it's also not really all that interesting either. It is exactly the light heart manga with the main character that will always try to suprise you with new stuff and cool moments but end up failing spectacularly, this isfar from what I was looking for (after reading Uchuu Kyoudai, Planetes, Inherit the Stars and plenty of other well-done sci-fi manga this just strikes me as hilariously unimaginative and bland). No real suspense or sense of urgency. A perfect time killer for anyone with absolutely nothing else left to read is the best praise I can give this manga


Overall, meh. Not great, not terrible, just offensively boring and dull

Although the concept isn't exactly original or anything I think the only time I've seen this in manga or anime format and have the story revolve around it completely not one episode or just a few chapters would be Full Metal Panic.


There honestly isn't much to talk about as it's only at 8 chapters, in English anyways, so i'll be lazy and list off what I like and don't like about it so far

The art, an easy 6. The art isn't particularly bad or good, which is the problem. It's somewhat boring and lackluster but you can tell what everything is supposed to be ... and does it's job. Just wish the environment and characters had a bit more to them I guess.

The Character, oh man the character. The characters are fine, nothing special but I like them so far but there is just one thing teeny tiny thing that irks me about the MC and that's his obnoxious and extremely over reaction to any and all forms of "comedy". I get that it's supposed to be a joke and give you a good ole chuckle between all the serious shit that goes down but I seriously don't get it, I don't find it humorous or anything at all, In fact I find it annoying and dumb but it doesn't really subtract from the story or interfere with the plot so far so I guess it's just a minor nitpick from me. I guess it's just one of those Japanese gags that you just don't get when you're foreign. 5/10 in the character department from me

I enjoy the series so far, I would give it an overall rating of 5/10. Keep in mind, a 5 isn't bad it's just average and that's fine. The story so far is rather, well, boring? I feel like that's to harsh of a word but I'm not gonna sit and here and try to think of anything else. Who knows, maybe in the next few chapters we can get some action and things will heat up but as of now the past 8 chapters have left on the fence about this manga. It could be good, It could be bad. We'll just have to wait to find out, maybe my review has convinced you to pick it, maybe it's convinced you to not pick it up but either way I hope you found my review helpful

This is a terrible survival manga, the narrator or whatever is just annoying and points out the obvious as well as used as some sort of explanation for when the Mangaka does some really dumb plot armor sh*t like how he accidentally figured out how to make leather more loose and wearable among some other god awful contrived BS just to force some plot along. This isn't fun, exciting, intense or thrilling at all to read like a survival manga should be, there are no stakes involved no risks and fear for the main character because he ... always finds some stupid unbelievable way out of any predicament he is in this dude pretty much killed a bear by accident and tamed a damn owl before that. It's ridiculous.

In short, The narrator over explains everything and seems to think you're blind or stupid and the main character never really works for anything everything just conveniently falls into place and it's just extremely boring. Even when the MC does do something like build a base of operations it just skips forward to when everything is pretty much done and off screens him making tools etc. The least you could do is show us him making it and how hard it was and the process of making etc. but no. It kind of just mentions or shows that he's gonna build something then we skip to when everything is mostly done or is fully complete. it's boring. Wait, this wasn't short.


Sorry for the short review but it's been about a month or more since I last read this and I finally decided to write a review for it since I was bored. I may come back after reading some more to add on to this and I may even go back and re read it to give you a better more detailed reasoning for why I think this is awful but for now i'm gonna leave it at this.

This anime started off with a lot of promise in the first episode and it seemed like it was gonna be a mature (Or at least not childish) anime involving a lot of politics and tense diplomatic negotiations. It was far from it, I was really disappointed that it turned out so terrible but I wasn't really surprised considering a huge chunk of anime suffer from the things I found bad about this anime.

Let's start off with the story.

The story had so much promise but it fell short in almost every aspect. The story itself could have been bearable if they fixed one or two ... things. Those things being Character and not having so much tropes ruining the atmosphere and "tension" of the anime.

Art

Personally disliked it but for 3DCG they did good.

Sound

Not much to say really, had some alright sound and a nice soundtrack. I think a few of the SFX were stock sounds but they could have been just really similar to what I've heard in other anime so who knows.

Character

The biggest problem with this anime is the characters every character is so very droll and uninspired. This anime would've been a lot better if they managed to make you give a shit about anyone in the show. I can't even find myself hating the characters either, they are so boring and bland that they aren't likable but they aren't really unlikable other than a few "quirks" here and there.

The most annoying and boring characters are the MC and the Science chick. The MC is just boring as all hell with the typical can-do attitude every generic anime MC has. The science chick (I forget her name) is so chock full of annoying and boring tropes to make her seem so quirky that it's actually grating. She's one of the few characters who will get any reaction out of you, it's just not the reaction they wanted.

Enjoyment

It was mediocre, but it could have been worse. That's really the only "compliment" I can give it. Overall this anime is like a 5/10. It's just such a "safe" anime. They take no real risks to spice things up and it has all these tropes and boring characters. It really is the epitome of mediocracy

Story - 7 - Very cliche but I'm enjoying the new dark spin they're putting on it I'm sick of happy go lucky super OP harem fest other-world manga. It definitely seems like their might be an OP mc but it might be a little ways off. The drama is rather cliche as well but feels somewhat fresh considering it's an otherworld manga. So far I love it. I hope there won't be a harem though it'd be out of place in this manga but it considering how many otherworld manga there are it might need fan-service to stay afloat. Any ways it's worth a ... look ignore that harsh ass review above me ( below? ) shield hero is good yeah but I've read EXTREMELY similar manga do it better with better art and a story full of overdone "Woe is me they hate me, the hero of ______." Check my list for the manga Konijiki something it's great.

Art - 8 - Basic art (sorta) but the art makes the monsters look nice so far. It's pretty good if you aren't picky like some. Check it out you'll get what I mean.


Enjoyment - 9 - I'm biased as fuck and love otherworld manga. A fair rating would be 7-8.


Character - 7 - maybe higher it's too early to tell but I like it reall gud.


Overall - 8 - really close to 9 but like I said its early and could possibly take down ward spiral like all manga with popular themes.

The only reason I wrote this is because the other dude was way to harsh for a manga with so few chapters hell you could say I'm being too generous but honestly I have high hopes. I mean obviously the other guy is sick of these manga types so he'll shit all over it. So yeah I urge you to check it out I have very high hopes.



UPDATE: I've began reading the Light Novel for this Manga I hate to say that everything I was praising this Manga for is just null at this point. The drama is gone and the tension is non existent, it turns into a haremy circle jerk about how cool our MC is. The villains are just so hilariously exaggerated because the author cant be bothered to give the any personality other than "We rape girl and kill guys cause were evil I bet you want us to die". At this point I doubt we're gonna see any real revenge dished out but I think you can look up spoilers if you'd like to save yourself the trouble, I'm too far in to just drop this though so i'll just tough it out. I'll leave the previous rating I left in the description above but I'll alter the score for the new rating. I should've listened to the dude below me, he had the common sense not to be tricked by an Isekai into thinking it would be anything but some random Japanese dudes wish fulfillment fantasy.

This isn't a rating for the LN for those thinking I might have done that, this is for the current chapter in the manga and where things are heading.



Story- went from a 7 to a very generous 3, only reason I won't give it anything lower is because MAYBE the manga will stray from the Light Novel in future chapters and redeem itself. If not, this manga deserves no mercy. I read this online for free and I still feel ripped off.

Art- I still like the art, it's been pretty consistent and good in my opinion. 8

Character- MC went from a man with a vengeance to some moron with hot girls who like him for no reason messing around in a dungeon for lulz. 7 to a 3, I've read much worse.


enjoyment- 9 to a 2, terrible characters added onto a story that's just drudging along at a painfully slow pace doesn't make for an enjoyable manga.

overall score is a 3 or 4, I think I rate things too harshly but so maybe a 3 from me is a 4 to anyone else.
