Favorite Quote: "I may just be your fake boyfriend, but if anything happens I'll be the one to protect you." -Raku Ichijou
Nisekoi or should I say False Love in the English translation. I originally done a review on this romantic comedy on my old account, son714, but I lost the account information. Anyways, I've always connected alot more with the kind and caring characters in romantic comedies. Actually to be honest, I've always done this in almost every anime. I guess one could say I'm a very kind person. Hence, the reason why I identify with that specific quote from Nisekoi and as someone
...
who has personally done this as well. So how do I feel about Nisekoi? Here's the my review of why I really enjoyed it.
Story: As the summary suggests it's about two gang families who attempt to stop the ongoing conflict by faking a relationship between two of our main characters. Simple right? Actually, not quite. The story adds a rather interesting twist to it with the key locket and the promise that the main character kept in his childhood years. I thought that this would make the storyline rather overwhelming, but surprisingly, it wasn't. I felt that the overall plot was still retained after introducing the fake relationship between Raku and Chitoge. However, one thing to note is that the romance in this series didn't offer us anything new. It was a generic all girls like the guy type harem. But what I did like was the approach they took to develop this. Instead of using a simple high school setup, the author used the gang family conflict and the locket as a way to develop the romance. It wasn't painfully obvious like other romantic comedies. It had me second guessing alot at times.
9/10
Art: The art in Nisekoi was actually very well done. Some parts are just so colorful and lively, but despite that, it didn't distract me from the overall story.
10/10
Sound: I loved the soundtrack and the opening alot. The soundtrack perfectly captured the mood of many parts of the segment. For example, there are times when Raku had to go save Chitoge countless times. The soundtrack goes from being comical to being serious. It helps build tension and the romance.
10/10
Character: The characters in this series was also very well done. As I watched the series the anime does a good job of introducing new characters. They did it in a way where it had me constantly wonder whether or not this will effect Raku's fake relationship with Chitoge. One other thing that I liked about the characters was how they developed over time. This was especially true for Raku and Chitoge. As dense as the main character is, the fake relationship with Chitoge actually made him question who he liked. We also see him show his true character towards the people around him. Gradually however, he began to realize his feelings which shows character development. I thought that was pretty cool. Other than that, the character didn't offer us anything new in the romantic comedy genre.
9/10
My Opinion: Honestly, Nisekoi is the my second favorite harem and romantic comedy. It is also one of my favorite animes of all time. I understand opinions may differ, but I think everything that we would expect from a romantic comedy is here. Not only that, it was hilarious and serious at times. The writing was done extremely well to convey this to the audience. It sure hooked me in and wanted me to continue the series. So much that I was continuing the manga. But there are times when it fell short from being a masterpiece. The characters would be something you would expect from a harem series. If there was a 9.5 rating I would definitely give it that. Loved the anime and hope to see more of from this anime.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope this persuaded you guys to check out this anime. You will get tons of laughs, I promise that! A great anime that is worth a watch.

Favorite Quote: "My life is dull and boring. But this dull life suits me, since I hate getting into troublesome situations. If I could stay like this forever, that would be the best." -Jiang Hao
Originally, I did my review on Cupid's Chocolates on my old account son714, but I lost the account information. Whenever somebody asks me "hey do you watch anime?" Immediately the thing that comes to mind would be a Japanese style drawing along with Japanese voice actors. This Chinese cartoon definitely caught me by surprise. Without any spoilers I have presented my personal opinion on this series as of right now.
Story:
...
The story is pretty much similar to how all harems and romantic comedies are. Most harems either center around a loner or an average everyday student who does something and suddenly finds himself surrounded by a bunch of pretty girls. In this case it would be the "average everyday student." The plot in this series is very fast paced and extremely hilarious. It had me laughing out loud in a lot of their sequences. The series does a very good job in allowing the audience to understand the story despite being roughly 15 minutes long for an episode.
8/10
Art: Anime is a Japanese style animation. It is very interesting to see how far anime has gotten throughout the years. In my opinion, the artwork has gotten alot better over the years. For Aishen Qiaokeli-ing or Cupid's Chocolates, I would say that the artwork is mirrored to have it feel like an anime type artwork. But I had to say that the artwork in this series is very well done. The colors were on point and it didn't feel distracting at all to the very least. It also feels great to know that anime has made an impact worldwide.
10/10
Sound: As mentioned this is a Chinese cartoon. Initially when I watched this series the voice acting for the characters sounded very strange for me. As I progressed in the series I didn't find their voices strange rather I didn't come mind it as much. For the opening theme, it is very well done despite being a non lyrical theme. In my opinion, it captures the plot and the mood of the series. An opening theme without singing without singing was done extremely well.
9/10
Character: One of the biggest downfalls and complaints of bad animes would be the how the characters fit with the storyline. This would also include their overall personalities throughout the series. In this case however, I actually enjoyed every single character. Despite the main character being the overused loner student in typical harems, the other character were very entertaining. The reason for this being is that after the main character sets in motion the plot, each character in this series has their own desires and backstories. As mentioned before, the episodes are roughly 15 minutes long, so how can they do all of this in such a short time? The series does a fantastic job of clearing their desires and backstories in a non-overwhelming way. Each episode presents the main character tackles each issue in his own way making it very satisfying until the very end. Not to mention also that the main character isn't as dull and "numb to love" as other harem characters are.
10/10
My Opinion: I thoroughly enjoyed this Chinese cartoon. The artwork is great definitely has obvious signs of influence from Japanese anime artwork, the characters are well done, the sound and openings perfectly capture the mood in each episode. All of these points contributed into making this rather overused harem genre into a very satisfying series so far. Also this anime makes it enjoyable for the viewer because it constantly makes us imagine who the main character will eventually fall for. I believe he will fall for the first girl he met, but that is just a speculation at this moment. It also makes me genuinely happy to know that anime is spreading and appreciated worldwide. This cartoon is a great example of that. Just realized I'm also submitting this review on Valentines day, this cartoon is great for that occasion! Oh and also I'm rooting for Xia Zitong!
Thank you for reading my review, I really appreciate it guys.

Favorite Quote: "It's not empty words I'm after. There was something else I desired all along. Not mutual understanding, friendship, companionship, or anything of the sort. I don't care about being understood. I simply wish to understand. Understand, know, and rest easy in that knowledge, gain some peace of mind. Because not understanding terrifies me. Saying I want to understand everything is extremely self righteous. It's a dictatorial and conceited wish. It's shameless and repulsive. And I'm absolutely disgusted at myself for wanting that. But if we feel the same way, if a relationship exists where we can force that ugly self consciousness upon each
...
other and accept it, I know there's no way that can happen. I realize that's completely out of reach. But still I want something genuine." -Hachiman Hikigaya
This is a long quote I'm sorry about that. As somebody who experienced some of Hachiman's troubles throughout school, this is by far my favorite quote from my all time favorite romcom character. But honestly, it had me in tears. There is so much truth to his speech it's almost scary. In my opinion, what he means is friendships, relationships, and interactions simply out kindness, guilt, or mutual understanding is fake, something that individuals wouldn't initially do if there wasn't some external factor involved. It has to be something that is real, something we always wanted not by maintaining an image, a status quo, or from guilt of any sort. Furthermore, this also gets me thinking about if these relationships between people can truly exist and if Hachiman's way of thinking is without a doubt negative, but scares and pisses everyone of because it's so true to many certain extents. Sorry that was just a few things I thought about after finishing this series. So now let's get into the review without any spoilers.
Story: The story in the Yahari Ore no Seishun Zoku is almost identical with the first season. Not much has changed at all. The writing and the plot are relatively similar. The Service Club still regularly does it's duty by completing other people's requests. However, the only big difference in this is that the plot becomes alot more complex and thought provoking as the series progressed. The writing is done extremely well allowing audiences to be engaged. It never bored me throughout the series. Also, it contributed to the plot by making it very realistic. It also becomes clear that the romance becomes alot more evident as the series progresses.
10/10
Art: There were a few differences in the art. There were obvious minor changes to the character designs of Yukino and Hachiman. Nevertheless, this didn't distract me from enjoying the series. The colors were also still done fantastically.
10/10
Sound: The opening and ending themes were still top notch. Although the opening changed significantly, it still captured the overall mood of the new season.
10/10
Character: The characters in the second season of Yahari Ore no Seishun continued to intrigue me. I mentioned before in my first review that the main character was what set it apart from allot of romantic comedies, but the other characters contributed significantly. Our main character is still very much the same except he begins to open up more than usual. Towards the ending especially. The character development of numerous characters made it very appealing. This is especially true for Yukino whom we see begins to soften up significantly when she is around our main character. In fact, the contribution of new characters also made it feel like a harem, but a completely different kind in its regard. The biggest difference between the "harem" in this season is that the girls, our main character interacts with eventually develop a crush towards him, not immediately like other harem shows do. The second season also brought many other character's life perspectives and love interests to the plot and it was done in such a way that it wasn't overwhelming. It flowed nicely with the story. This second season we also get to see the teacher's point of view as well which is great.
10/10
My Opinion: The return of Batman, the silent protector. I was extremely excited to continue this series. The second season had a more serious sort of feel to it compared to the first season which was something I appreciated. We see a bit more romance in this season and more complex situations. Overall, it is still thought provoking like the first season. At the end of the series it had me wondering who the main character was going to fall for, what is a genuine friendship, bond, interaction, or relationship? The second season of Yahari Ore no Seishun definitely ranks in my top five best anime of all time.
Thank you for reading. Sorry I felt I went too in depth with some of the philosophies that our main character spoke about or was curious about. I hope you guys find the second season as entertaining and thought provoking too! Also, if you guys ask me on my profile I could provide you guys with two reddit links that analyzes the romance throughout the series; I'm always open to discussion about this anime. Once again thank you for reading and hope to see you guys on my next review!
Final Score: 10/10 extremely well done masterpiece

Favorite Quotes: "If the truth is a cruel mistress, then a lie must be a nice girl." and "Hard work betrays none, but dreams betray many." -Hachiman Hikigaya
Originally did a review on this on my old account, son714, but I lost the account information, this is now my new account that I will be using to transfer my old reviews. I'll try to change it up a bit. To begin, these two quotes are some of my personal favorite quotes spoken by our main character. There are many other quotes that I agreed with, but for the sake of a
...
thorough reviews let's not go too in-depth with them. To begin, I was never a fan of the romantic comedy genre in general. I always thought they would always ended being cheesy and painfully predictable. However, this anime, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, definitely took me by surprise. Here's some of the main reasons why I believe this anime is such a masterpiece.
Story: The main storyline can be pretty much summed up in the anime description. Initially, when reading the summary I felt it was gonna be a very generic, but I realized the romance in this series isn't thrown s right into your face from the very beginning. To be more precise, the romance is pretty light in the entire series. There are only hints of romance between character now and then. Overall, the anime does a fantastic job of gradually building the romance through the services completed in the club. I thought this was a really cool idea to implement rather than simply throwing the obvious romance to the audience.
10/10
Art: I thought the artwork was pretty well done, nothing out of the ordinary in this anime. I liked the colors that were used in the opening theme and for the ending as well.
10/10
Sound: I absolutely loved the soundtrack, the opening theme, and the ending themes. In my opinion, the themes played in the series explains alot about the "romance" that's happening. The soundtracks also played during each segment also made it very comical and enjoyable to watch.
10/10
Character: The characters in this series was what intrigued me the most. I found the characters very unique, interesting, realistic throughout the series. For those new to the anime you might be wondering how are the characters different from other romantic comedy series? To respond to this, I would say that the main character in this series was what made this anime amazing. He isn't the boring, dull, and extremely dense type of person, but actually the complete opposite. In fact, I would say confidently that he is well aware of the ongoing romance, society, and his overall environment. What makes it even more interesting is his ability to think very critically about others and situations presented at the moment. Not only is it very critical, but the way he says it in his thoughts makes it way more engaging and realistic. Alot of characters in romantic comedies cannot do this. I understand that it has to do with the writing of the developers, but it was done very well. This anime also perfectly illustrates, in my opinion, the different kinds of people there are in the world. From socially distant type people to arrogant ones this series has it all. Excellent pacing for character development made characters extremely likeable and it made you feel as if you can identify with some of them. It also made room for characters to change their initial attitudes as the series progressed. In my case, I identified perfectly with the main characters point of view and philosophies.
10/10
My Opinion: It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me. Batman can be related to the main character. Throughout of the series, I find that the he is a kind hearted person, but he isn't concerned about that. I feel what he is concerned about is the society around him and how it is pretty messed up according to him. As someone who holds similar viewpoints as the main character, it is one of the reasons why I really appreciated this romantic comedy masterpiece. This show has tons of comedy, a bit of romance, and tons of theories and philosophies about life. I fully recommend watching this anime not just for the romance, but for what it can offer to us as humans. Seriously, this anime actually got me saying "yeah that's true" alot times and "hey the main character is actually right, it's so true about what he said about people and society." Yahari Ore no Seishun wouldn't be on my top five best romcoms of all time, it would fall in my top five of all time. It is truly a hidden gem among animes.
Final Score: 10/10 perhaps the most underrated romantic comedy in anime history

Originally, I did a review on Steins Gate in my old account, son714, but I lost the account information due to complications with my laptop so I made a new account! I'll change up the review, but for the most part it will cover most of the things I talked about in my old account. During my high school years, I had a friend who continuously asked if I had seen Steins Gate yet. At first, I didn't know what to expect since the only anime
...
I was watching at that time was Naruto Shippuden. After watching this anime however, I'm glad that I didn't skip it. Let's get on with the review now.
Story: So I'll start of by saying that this anime is pretty confusing at first, no exaggeration. It's best to pay close attention to the small details presented during the series, it'll help you understand the plot better. With this in mind, it is not to say that you'll be totally confused. This "confusion" is what makes this particular anime series so special and unique. Furthermore, Steins;gate is about time travel. In short, most shows and movies involving time travel lose their overall plot and become somewhat plain and repetitive. For example, the movie Back to the Future became somewhat predictable at times and could lose your interest in the overall story line. However, Steins;gate is rather different then most time travel shows or movies. So now you might ask what makes this show less cheesy, and interesting than other time traveling shows? To answer this, it was the pacing and characters supplemented the story's time traveling plot.
10/10
Art: The artwork in Steins;gate was simply beautiful. Nothing felt overdone and not to mention the character designs were interesting. They all seemed to fit their personalities real well.
10/10
Sound: I absolutely loved the soundtrack, the opening theme, and the ending theme as well. At times, the soundtrack definitely added to the suspense of the show and helped enhance the comical interactions between characters.
10/10
Characters: The strongest aspect in this anime would be the characters. Every character in this series were complex, interesting, and funny. Each one all served a purpose to the plot. It was also great to see the characters develop over time and get used to one another. This is clearly depicted when looking at our two main characters. Their initial attitudes and feelings towards one another can be described as water and oil. They could never seem to agree with one another on theories of time travel and loved to tease each other. Eventually, they began to soften up and became fond of one another. It was great to see them change, not only in a positive way, but in a way that was crucial to the story. Many physics theories were also discussed in the anime between the characters which made it even more interesting.
10/10
My Opinion: To sum it up, Steins;gate is a one of a kind anime despite being a time travel show. This anime had me intrigued and curious all the way until the very end. The story, the characters, and the time travel theories were very memorable. After the series I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and the overall universe that they were in. I am aware that this anime may not be for everyone however. If you guys expect quick plot development, you won't see it in Steins;gate, but I hope you guys can give the show a chance. Like I mentioned before, this anime is a hidden gem in the sci-fi time travel genre. This anime definitely holds up to its name and hype as a masterpiece. It is a fantastic show that shouldn't be quick to judge and overlooked as being overrated or simply too boring. If somebody were to ask me what my favorite anime of all time would be I would gladly say with all my heart, Steins;gate!
Thank you for reading my review guys! Hope you enjoyed it!
Final Score: 10/10 a masterpiece
