the rapid flashing lights ending of this ova physically hurt to look at

the mech designs are kinda cool but they're barely animated. the storyline is nonsense both as its own thing and as a dunbine sequel. there are a few funny scenes but none of the characters really have any personality. some of the action is well animated, i like the weight in the on foot battles, but anything positive i can say about the ova overall is ruined by how the end of the story is viscerally unpleasant to watch and made me cover my eyes for a full minute

There's lots of really awful cg plaguing most of the movie, but the 2D animation is consistently good, and the entire movie shifts to it for the last ten minutes for a really fun climax, and even before that there are some really cool scenes!

As for everything else, uh... It's Rockman.exe. You don't exactly look to it for interesting stories with complicated characters. ...

With over-the-top, goofy characters who are introduced and sent off with giant explosions and table-destroying brooms, nothing in Dragon Slayer will blow your mind, but it will put it on a fun rollercoaster for fifty ...
